DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS - AUGUST 2026
Hello everyone,I hope you’ve all had a great summer. On my end, I’ve made some progress that I’m really happy to share with you!All Order Buildings Are ReadyThe Training Camp, which isn’t accessible in the demo, is finally finished. This building will allow you to passively generate Adepts by investing in training programs. You’ll also be able to purchase “Instructors” to increase the effectiveness of these programs. All of the buildings that can be purchased from the fortress menu have now been implemented. For most of them, you’ll first need to find their blueprints in the Temple before you can build them. You’ll receive powerful bonuses when you fully rebuild all the buildings associated with a specific domain. For example, if you rebuild all the buildings related to recruitment, you’ll be rewarded with a powerful recruitment bonus that will stay with you for the entire run.Demo ImprovementsA lot of QoL additions and balancing changes made over the past few months have now been added to the demo. The demo’s introduction has been modified so that you can jump straight into the core gameplay of Knightstones.A few fixes as well.BattlesNew camera position for the catapult firing turn. And an addition that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE: ballistae and trebuchets will now join the catapults.Ballista: Always fires first. Be careful if the enemy has a ballista!Trebuchet: Fires every other turn, but launches three projectiles. It’s extremely powerful, but you have to hold your position!!This addition was suggested by someone who played the demo and gave me a lot of feedback. So don’t hesitate to share your thoughts on the game and your expectations for 1.0 with me. It’s really inspiring for me :)Thank you again for all your support. Demo Fixes, Improvements & Balancing #7
Hello everyone,Great to see you again! As I’ve been working towards 1.0, I’ve made quite a few improvements across many aspects of the game. I’ve also taken some time to bring some of these improvements to the demo. Here’s the list:Battles• Balanced Ally stats. • Allies now have a wood appearance to better distinguish them from the Order’s Fighters. • Improved readability of the UI for effects and damage dealt. • Reworked HP bars • Added debris when units take damage. • Improved the game feel of the hammer when the player hits an enemy, with camera shake and post process effects.Order Management• Castle upgrades now provide more resources.Temple• Added the first two stories left behind by previous Athares.Camera• New camera position for the catapult firing turn. • More dynamic Order overview camera.Fixes• Fixed missing environmental sounds after starting a battle. • Fixed the combat camera zoom being stuck while paused. • The game should now display better on ultrawide screens. If it doesn’t, try using Windowed mode in the settings (and let me know on Community Hub!)Quality of life• Added a notification when the player has enough keys to unlock a door.If you have any feedback to share, feel free to join the Discord, or leave a note in the Community Hub.I hope you’ll enjoy the demo as much as I’ve enjoyed creating and sharing this game with you.Have fun and see you soon!WillGreenRead full article on Community Announcements (WillGreen Studio)AnnouncementsOfficial
DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS - JULY 2026
Hi everyone! So many of you have played the Knightstones demo, and I can't thank you enough!46 of you have already left a positive review on the demo's Steam page, and that support means a lot. It gives me even more motivation to make the 1.0 release the best it can be.Here's what I've been working on throughout July:The campaign is about 90% complete. What's left is mostly pacing. I actually plan to make the campaign slightly shorter so it stays exciting from beginning to end, rather than artificially extending its length. It should take around 10 hours to complete. And if you want to unlock everything the game has to offer, you can expect a lot more with endgame content. The three relics are almost finished. They're incredibly fun to play with! You already got to try the Hammer in the demo, the Grimoire has been improved based on playtesters feedback, and the third relic is almost ready for playtesting. The third RelicIt has been the main focus of my work this month. I haven't shared much about it yet because it's closely tied to the campaign, and I'd like to keep a few surprises for release!Miniatures' HP barsThey have been redesigned to better represent their maximum health, making it much easier to judge each unit's strength at a glance during battles.LightingI've finished several new lighting atmospheres, but not all of them have made it into the game yet.BalancingAllies have received a slight balance adjustment, and several new Allies are ready to join the game.ReadabilityAllies now have a wooden appearance, making them easier to distinguish from regular Combatants.Next month, my main focus will be finishing the campaign and working on the Order's buildings, which grant powerful bonuses and effects during your runs.I also need to figure out when and how to bring some of these improvements to the demo!In the meantime, feel free to follow the development on social media, and if you're enjoying Knightstones, telling your friends about it is one of the best ways to s...Read full article on Community Announcements (WillGreen Studio)
