Command elite soldiers in Galactic Space Guard, a turn-based strategy game where you'll defend space stations and upgrade your squad. Prepare for battle and restore peace across the galaxy.
About this game
Turn based combat with immersive Shooting
The core gameplay of Galactic Space Guard is turn-based tactical combat. Position your units cleverly, take aim, and eliminate enemy forces.
What sets it apart is a unique twist: the shooting mechanics feel more like a third-person shooter than a traditional tactics game. You manually aim with each squad member, and every shot is calculated individually, taking into account line of sight, weapon properties, unit stats, and your mouse or controller movement.
No more frustrating 95% hit chances that miss at point-blank range!
In addition, the combat is faster-paced. Enemy turns are processed in groups, which greatly reduces waiting time and creates a smooth, dynamic game flow.
Extract from procedural generated maps
Every mission takes place on procedurally generated levels, ensuring a fresh experience with each playthrough.
The loot system is inspired by extraction shooters: you start with limited gear and must find better weapons, armor, and equipment during missions. Successfully upgrading your squad feels rewarding but a failed mission can set you back. This creates constant tension, while still offering ways to recover and rebuild your team if things go wrong.
Survival & Squad management
Manage limited food supplies, medical resources for healing and curing injuries, ammunition, and equipment. Gain experience to unlock new abilities for your guardists and tailor their loadouts for upcoming missions.
Defend Humanity
Between tactical missions, you take command of your spaceship and travel across the galaxy. Visit space stations, derelict vessels, asteroids, and more. Recruit new soldiers, trade, upgrade equipment, and respond to dynamic events. This strategic layer connects the tactical missions and drives your overall campaign. Every successful operation brings you closer to defeating the invasion that is spreading across the galaxy.
Reclaim lost colonies, destroy alien breeding grounds, rescue civilians, and push the invaders back. Don’t let them take what’s ours!

Dev Update #4
GeneralLatest development refered to the strategic layer as well as to several systems such as the inventory and to the core experiences of Galactic Space Guard. One aspect of this experience is to explore the station/ship your mission takes place on, it is planned to be able to move your squad between different sections of the station. Each section is its own level with fresh enemies and loot, so the decision emerges to get deeper into the unknown and capture more valuable loot or leave early after your objective is fullfilled. Getting deeper into the station can be rewarding but also the risk of failure increases, enemies could ambush your squad or your munition and supplies could run out. This aims for a tense but also rewarding experience.TopicsFollowing main topics are being worked on:Moving between sections of the station: Your squad is now able to move to a different section of the current station/ship by leaving through exits or elevators to reach a different level(the pillars are part of a movable elevator plaform)Boarding of station/ships: your squad can board stations/ships with drop pods, you can leave and revisit later if you likeBetween missions: on the same station/ship you are able to assign additional drop pods, move items between your soldiers and get an overview of the current areaTrading stations: In space you can visit trading stations to buy items and recruit new soldiers, the interface is getting more improvedItem stacks: more stackable items, also stacks are able to be split by a specific amount, in addition moving items inside the inventory "feels" better nowA word regarding the demoCurrently the demo is very limited in its content. It is planned to release a new demo soon, so that you are able to play more of the aspects of Galactic Space Guard yourself.Greetings,IntuitionRead full article on Community Announcements (Intuition)Patch NotesOfficial
Dev Update #3
Dev UpdatesCurrently few announcements are made, it is because all effort lays on developing the game. We are thankfull for all who are following Galactic Space Guard! So less announcements mean more development focus at the moment! Nonetheless we hope to increase the frequency in the future. But lets have a look at the game and how development is going forward for now.Core gameplayCurrently the focus lays once more on the core gameplay. As you know Galactic Space Guard is planned to be released in early access, meaning that content and features are changing rapidly as development goes on. That is a good thing as it allows us to adjust the game as it's meant to be with your feedback. The things we are currently working on:Improvement of item utilization, meaning how to handle and use items more intuitively, since it was a bit complicated in the past. Also making it more clear how to use items as healing, grenades, food etc. Overall interface improvements: This is still work in progress and surely will change more in the futureMale characters - yes, not only women are part of the Galactic Space Guard ;)More interior for different biom types and events: This should make the experience more versatile and exploration more interesting. With that comes a systems where certain events can happen in rooms, such as malfunctioning terminals triggering a door to open, fires that start due to an exploding generator, a special enemy that appears etc. improved lighting and atmosphere, in the 2nd picture you see a flare to enlighten darker areas Minimap: It was hard to orientate in the game world without a map, so even it is kind of standard feature, it should be worth mentioning that in future updates this will be a included feature, the map will be expandable and you will be able to set pingsImproved loot distribution and more items to make each fight more rewarding and create more excitement for what one can findThese are just some major topics, there is still a lot more to do b...Read full article on Community Announcements (Intuition)Patch NotesOfficial
Dev Update #2
The last announcement is some time ago but the silence doesn't mean that nothing happened. We used the time to focus on development and get more done. Now we would like to give you some impressions what's coming. The main focus layed on the strategic component of Galactic Space Guard namely the space map, where you plan your missions and manage your squad in a sandbox campaign. What is the concept of the campaign?Your goal is to protect the population of humanity's space stations and ships, investigate incidents and rescue people. The threat will spread and infest more and more territories and it is your task to keep it at bay!You move your ship and explore the map similiar to 4x games and plan the missions for your squad. Design your loadout and the number of drop pods and soldiers you take with you.Beside equipment you find during your missions there are also trading stations to restock as well as to accepting further mission and refuel your ship.Read full article on Community Announcements (Intuition)Patch NotesOfficial
