Navigate through a world of unpredictable physics as you grab and climb anything within reach. With up to four players, embrace the madness in this casual, simulation-style game from Velan Studios.
About this game
Welcome to the very early prototype of Climbing Chaos: Much Earlier Access, where sharks with arms and legs defy physics (and basic motor skills) in a hilarious, experimental party game about climbing and exploring solo or with friends!

Move your body and each arm independently to grab, climb, and explore a world designed for ragdoll physics moments, leaps of faith, teamwork, and hilarity. What should be as easy as reaching out and grabbing something is…well, much harder than it looks. You'll laugh, you'll scream, and you'll probably fall a lot.

Up to four players can scramble together in local multiplayer with co-op and versus modes of play. You can play remotely with Steam Remote Play Together!

Don't have friends to play with? A solo player can control multiple sharks and still enjoy the multiplayer experience by themselves. Spawn your squad of sharks and form chainlinks to swing and reach high places.

There are a variety of game modes and a playground full of toys to test out your acrobatic moves. Can you find and climb the giant shark statue? Or practice shark darts on the dart board? There’s even a gladiator arena, where you can fight to be the last shark standing.
We have stopped development on this early prototype, but the demo will be left up for anyone who wants to enjoy the madness!

The "Chums & Chainlinks" Update
Hello everyone! A huge thank you to all of the players who have already tried the demo, filled out the survey, and even streamed your play sessions! We got a lot of important learnings from all of your feedback and today we've just released an update to the demo! Why don't we walk through our changes together? {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45577782/2b75eb34d0f58cbe56eb80de9ec762a2c1f6dc56.gif We have restructured the first time user experience (FTUE), and thus have added a save game to track tutorial completion. Developer Note We realised that our main menu, while super fun, was disorganized and a few players never even went through the main tutorial! To make sure people learn the basics, we've added additional guidance to push players towards it at the beginning and barred off the rest of the playground. If you are a returning player that just wants to try the other modes, you only need to reach the first checkpoint; then hold down START to return to the main menu and you should find the barrier has disappeared! :) Players can use left and right on the D-pad to adjust the music volume Developer Note The background music can now be adjusted in game; no more having to go in to the system tray because our rocking beats are too loud! Added more dummies to the main menu and the tutorial. Developer Note Players have been really enjoying having fun with our test dummies, so we added more! We also restructured the beginning of the tutorial to make sure people understood grabbing before we ask them to climb. The Arena now tracks player respawns as a way to keep score. Developer Note People are having a ton of fun racking up knock outs in the arena, so we added signs for each player to show how many times each has been knocked out! As an added present, you will also fine a new weapon to play with on the sides of the arena. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45577782/8f6a14d86c14bef467b797b647a7d7f835931745.gif A prompt appears at the first launch of the game to let players know they need a controller....Read full article on Community Announcements (cvdelm)AnnouncementsOfficial
Climbing Chaos: Sharing The Journey
We're excited to show our work super early, and we hope you come along for the ride. Here's a compilation of various steps of our journey developing Climbing Chaos. A Super Early Look We love these types of games, where physics, teamwork and silly interactions lead to random chaos and memorable moments. This clip shows our early journey and we wanted to share it with you all; Let us know what you think! Weekend at Bernie's Edition Our gamedev days are full of random ideas that go on the backlog, and then we get to prototype and try them. This clip shows an idea that gained a lot of energy, "What if the players had to climb and carry a dummy?" Carry a dummy? Like "Weekend at Bernie's"? That sounded fun to us, here's the clip of us trying it as a team for the first time. All we have to do is climb, carry, pass the dummy around and then deliver it to the shredder, that's all we have to do. Did we succeed in our first try? Carry the Dummy Feature Approved! Getting Back Into The Fun! Early on we thought there was something special with "climbing across all directions and ragdolls". Getting a solid sense of control while balancing the unpredictable physics was pretty exciting to us. At the same time, we knew we wanted to include basic ground movement that would allow us to provide moments of rest and another way to navigate levels. While implementing this ground traversal we got a bit sidetracked and quickly started to miss our "climbing core"; The game felt like just another platformer. Thankfully, we realized this and refocused, and in no time the climbing, ragdoll, and physics fun had returned. Why Sharks? How our characters came to be, the answer to a question our players typically ask us. why sharks? why legs? we finally explain ourselves Wishlist and follow to be part of Climbing Chaos development journey! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3646370/Climbing_Chaos_Demo/Read full article on Community Announcements (momoMonkey)AnnouncementsOfficial
