Enter: The Witch (and Playtest!)
Greetings fellow wizardkin,Daan & Jonas here. A grand total of 2683 of you have played the game so far (be it the playtest or the demo), so we'd like to thank each and every one of you! We've had so many kind messages and great feedback and we're super grateful. Special shout out to the freaks who played more than 5 hours, y'all crazy.Haven't had enough of Bibidi yet? Then we have exciting news for you! We've just launched a new playable character: Beatrix Chaudron, the Wandering Witch of the West. She's a freshly graduated witch on her Forever Pilgrimage, a journey to find purpose in a community. But for some inscrutable reason it led her straight to the Wishing Well, a dank dungeon with the stench of Wizards all over it!The WitchBeatrix finds an ever-stalwart companion in her Cauldron, a sentient pot that requires constant sacrifice as sustenance. If you put a card in the Cauldron's mouth, it gets destroyed permanently, but it's Force lingers for subsequent spells as you fuel the fires of its magic. With this we once again hope to recontextualize the mechanics into completely different play styles. Do you sacrifice high Force cards and ride its coattails? Will you keep acquiring cheap fodder cards to feed the fire? Will you try to circumvent sacrificing cards altogether?Re-opening the PlaytestWant to try her out before anyone else? You can! Because we're re-opening the public playtest RIGHT NOW! There should be a big button on the Bibidi Bibidi! Steam page that says "Request Access". If you click on it, you will automatically be granted access to the playtest, and it will be available in your library as "Bibidi Bibidi! Playtest", which is different from the Demo.If you do, please consider joining the official Bibidi Discord and share any and all thoughts you have about the Witch. We need all the feedback we can get! Not convinced, but curious what's a good time to jump in? Check out our roadmap post for future updates.Happy casting! Bibidi Bibidi! Roadmap
Greetings fellow wizardkin,Daan & Jonas here with a roadmap update! We've planned our milestones all the way up to release(ish), so we thought it would be a good idea to share some of that with y'all! All of it is in rough order and time estimation, because sometimes we have to swap things around for various reasons, but this will give you an idea of where we are at and want to end up.Each one of these milestones we will describe will have its own update. Update on what? The PLAYTEST we're planning to re-open. That way we'll be able to get playtesters together to try out the new content and give their feedback, so we can improve it as much as possible before releasing it to the public. We'll announce a date for this later, so keep your eyeballs on this space!New Playable CharacterFirst and foremost, we're currently working on a new playable character. We don't want to give away too much yet, but those of you in the loop will have a good idea of witch of the unlockable silhouettes we're working on ;)We're looking to release this update together with the re-opening of the playtest, somewhere end of July if possible. The StalkerOne of the biggest balance issues with the game right now is the fact you can stall combat encounters to keep upgrading your cards, or stacking Shield so you won't take any damage. It'll make you powerful so you're rewarded for doing it, but it's exceedingly boring and kind of ruins the rest of the run.So instead of limiting those interactions in a way that would make those cards less interesting, we want to opt for a more unique anti-stall mechanic: the Stalker. This creature will follow you around the dungeon, and if you take too long in a combat encounter, it will invite itself in to come and play.We hope to get this one out in early August.PotionsPotions were always meant to be carried around and used in time of need. We just never got around to actually implementing it properly! So this milestone will be dedicated to making an easy-to-use po...Read full article on Community Announcements (Daan | Bibidi Bibidi!)Patch NotesOfficial
Ponder the Orb Update (v0.10.03)

We've had a decent influx of new players and a load of new feedback, some of which we address in this update! We did a big pass on optimization, so the game should play a lot smoother, especially for people with older machines. Emphasis on should: we don't have a wide range of machines to test on, so please let us know if you run into any issues! The rest of the patch is mostly quality of life features y'all requested a bunch. We finally got around to doing some of those.Ponder the OrbOther than that, we changed the Skymap so now it feels like you're PONDERING THE ORB. This is one of the ongoing efforts of making the game feel more wizardy and immersive while we're heading towards release.Other Changes🍹 Quality of LifePreview Conjured cards in the tooltip.Toggle on/off subtle camera movements for people who get nauseous.Preview what you can unlock in the Skymap. Demo Build Patch (v0.10.02)
Greetings fellow wizardkin,Jonas & Daan here with a small update right before Next Fest! Daan managed to squeeze in a handful of minor bug fixes and visual glitches, so everything feels just a bit nicer. Jonas improved some art here and there, including most notably, the final boss! (of the demo) It's really ugly and disgusting, but we won't spoil anything so go see it for yourself, if you dare! Here are the major changes we made this patch.🍹 Quality of Life Improved feedback on hovering over card parts and spell slots.More predictable order of spell effects.Game Settings where you can reset progress or tutorials. Automatically view rewards when unlocking something in the Skymap.More readability improvements. 🐞 Major Bugs Fixed exploit where you could destroy cards to gain Sigils over your limit.Fixed visual glitches related to destroying or upgrading cards.Various bug fixes related to gamepad and keyboard input.⚖️ BalanceOppipi now has a cursed Sigil that makes his Shield disappear at the start of the turn. Upgrade cards like Growus, Genki Dama and Thank You are now ethereal. This is a temporary measure until we implement a cool new secret feature ;) 👨🎨 Art Boss 3 now has proper sprites and it's very unnerving! Improved encounter selection art for area 2. Banishing cards has a little animation. Thanks again to our playtesters who managed to catch some of these nasty bugs that have been around for a while. We finally managed to catch and squash them because of you! We'll be back soon for an official Next Fest announcement, but for now enjoy your weekend and keep stay wize! Happy casting! DEMO! UNLEASHED!
Greetings fellow wizardkin,Daan & Jonas here, proud to announce that the Bibidi Bibidi! Demo for Next Fest is now live! Now, Next Fest has not started yet, but the Demo is up and running already. So if you want to try it out before all the hubbub, you can do so right away! Don't let us keep you waiting! Otherwise, feel free to read on. Oh yeah and here's the trailer!BibihistoryWe wanted to take this moment and reflect on what a journey it has been so far. We started out on Jonas' apartment floor, playing an improvized pen and paper prototype He was wearing an ad hoc wizard costume and Daan made him shout the spells he was combining. That was back in March 2025. Soon after, we turned that very same prototype digital and shared it around friends and creative peers. The initial reactions were pretty good!To this very day, the DNA of the game has remained close to its origin. Some of the cards and monsters from the very first pen and paper prototype are still in the game right now! Then in July of 2025 we launched the public playtest here on Steam. We've since had about 400 people play the game in its early stages and continued to rely on their feedback to make the game better and better. We could've never gotten to this point if not for all our lovely playtesters, so for that, thank y'all!Demo ContentsWhat can one expect from playing this Demo? Everything that we've put in the game so far! 3 Floors to explore, each with their own unique encounters and bosses.2 Playable Heroes, one of which you must unlock first.77 Spell Cards for you to find and combine.55 Sigils to enhance your own personal style of spell casting.25 Quests to unlock in the Skymap. These will grant you more potential cards and sigils in the reward pool and shop.RoadmapAnd then, what does the future hold for Bibidi Bibidi? For now, we'll be focusing on improving the Demo until at least after Next Fest. During that time, we'll close the playtest for new admissions too. Depending on how Next Fest goes, we'...Read full article on Community Announcements (daanlastpro)
