    1.2.3 Patch Live Now

Aside from bug fixes and some visual polish, I've spent a lot of time on the game's audio effects. Existing sounds effects now sit higher in the mix and many more new sound effects have been added. There's more I'd like to do, but I think it's already a big improvement.Cloud saves are also now live. If you've already played on two devices there will be a conflict, I recommend you play on the device with the most progress first as this is the save that will be uploaded to the cloud. Once you play on your other devices you'll have to resolve the conflict by choosing the cloud version.1.2.2- Sound overhaul- Added weapon impact effects to asteroids- Automated turrets can now fire independently even if master AI has not picked a target (this was rare anyway, but still occasionally possible)- Improved nebula fog rendering- Turret meshes now merge correctly, grouped by material- Changed Steam initialisation to make it less likely for devices to be undetected- NPCs talking animation now stops immediately when dialog is skipped- Fixed tutorial messages not showing up in third-person mode- Fixed 3rd-person freelook locking at warp when switching to 1st-person and back again- Fixed some minor glitches with button hover effect in certain menus- Fixed some artifacts in the skybox rendering- Fixed some minor rendering issues with very large planets at extreme distances- Fixed rebind menu losing button selection after rebinding- Fixed bug where projectiles were not always correctly showing up on the HUD- Fixed bug where ships with custom destroyed meshes were not always disabling the "alive" mesh- Fixed bug on "Safehouse" where skipping post-combat conversation would cause dialog to hang- Fixed bug on "Safehouse" where the skybox was not always rendered correctly- Fixed bug on "Haven" where player could respawn outside the shield wall- Fixed bug on "Pirates" that would auto skip surrender dialog- Fixed bug that prevented "Ending the Coup" from restarting correctly- Fixed bug where...

    Third Person Update

The 1.2.1 Patch is live now! The full changelog is below, but the feature we're most excited about is the new third-person mode. We know a lot of space sim fans prefer the exterior view and we're happy to finally be able to offer it.The game is also 33% off in the Winter Sale, so if you haven't picked the game up yet this will probably be the steepest discount for a while. Thanks to everyone who has bought the game, and if you enjoyed it please leave a review as we're only a few off from that magic 50.Wishing you all happy holidays and a great new year. Updates in this patch:Added third person camera modeAdded VR spectator camera for content creators (disabled by default due to performance cost)Added yaw pedal axis that allows a physical yaw pedal to be used in conjunction with VR virtual controlsAdded positional tracking to OpenTrack support (off by default)Added keybinds for targeting next/previous enemyAdded keybinds for targeting next/previous allyAdded hints to some of the less obvious settingsSmoothed out animation/IK transitions when grabbing and letting go of controls in VRThrottle will now be hidden in VR when auto throttle is enabledMatch speed now works with projectilesDecreased cost of using lateral thrustSlightly increased the player ship's turning speedReplaced the accuracy indicators (which were pretty useless) with an indicator for available missile packsAdjusted shield meshes on carriers so that shields no longer extend inside of the hangarFixed some errors in the "previously on" textsFixed button click audio not playing when using controller to navigate main menuFixed bug where moving hand outside the grip radius would move joystick in random rotation rather then letting goFixed bug where AI teammates would break off from player target even if that target was priorityFixed bug where opening the Steam overlay during cutscene dialog would unpause the game but continue the conversation in the backgroundFixed bug where collisions would not correctly tr...

Hi everyone,We're excited to announce our next project - Alliance Tales: Battle for the Frontier. It'll be a standalone mission pack set in the Alliance Peacefighter universe. The campaign will take you on a search for a missing friend while foiling a plot to take over the frontier colonies. It'll be shorter (and cheaper) than Alliance Peacefighter, and while there will be some familiar faces if you have - playing the original game isn't required. If you enjoyed Alliance Peacefighter or like the look of Alliance Tales, please wishlist - it really helps with our visibility as we approach launch.https://store.steampowered.com/app/4212870/Alliance_Tales_Battle_for_the_Frontier/We aren't done with Alliance Peacefighter, these games share a codebase so improvements to one will eventually filter over to the other. The next patch (1.2.1) is coming in the next week or so with bug fixes, polish and some new features - including a new third-person mode.
