The best multiplayer catnip mowing simulator on Steam. Up to 20 players, ragdoll kitty physics, unlockables, treasure, a chill 33-song soundtrack, and controls that definitely work as intended... most of the time.

In Mow Meow, control ragdoll cats in a multiplayer adventure where you mow through lush meadows. With a soundtrack of 33 songs and the potential for unpredictable fun, this indie simulation offers casual gameplay that's both relaxing and chaotic.

About this game

Mow catnip. Unlock furr. Hang out.

Welcome to Mow Meow, where you're a stretchy, slightly broken cat. You have one job: mow catnip. That's it, that's the game... well, sort of. The more 'nip you gather, the more furr, shoes, and hats you unlock to deck out your feline. Solo's fine. So is teaming up with friends or randos - it's a weird lil' multiplayer world and the catnip isn't going to mow itself.

On your adventure you'll experience strange quests, random emails and NPCs that want to sell you a meditation album for some reason. Customize your cat and get weird with it. The 'nip keeps growing. So do the surprises. 🙀

Key Features:

  • Online multiplayer mowing with up to 20 friends or total strangers

  • Leveling up unlocks furr, boosts your luck and more

  • Unlockable hats, boots & furr, featuring mysterious broken upgrades

  • Strange, buggy low-gravity kitty controls (it's a feature!!!)

  • 33-song original soundtrack doing some serious emotional heavy lifting

  • Weird emails and quests scattered around for the curious

  • Relaxing? Yes. Addictive? Also yes?

  • 16 Steam achievements now and more on the way (using cats from, like, the real world!)

  • Play using keyboard only if you want, so throw away that mouse (no wait, don't do that)

  • Controller support except for popping open chat (will get that working on the Steam deck soon)

  • Friendly NPCs with voice acting from friends

  • Chat and music player with aesthetics stolen from the 2000s

  • Code system for wacky modifications and catnip cheats

  • Secrets (can't say anything more about this because, well, it's a secret)

  • Can even be played in a 640x480 window so you can play a real game while playing this one

  • More boroughs, NPCs, collars, mowers, and power-ups in the works

More GIFs? Sure!

Use a code to activate some chaos...

Nip Nip Player? Yup yup!

Find or buy albums using dat 'nip...

Click on an unlocked achievement to bring up a kitty!

You got meow! Dang right you do.

Bouncing on 'dem springs...

Here's Dr. Katz.

All praise VOG!

Mow together. Gather together. Stay weird together.

Be sure to check out for updates.

Happy mowing! 😸

Multiplayer catnip bonus, color-correct particles and virtual keyboard support

Oh hello there! This update includes some cool stuff like catnip bonuses when playing with other cats, particle color changes per catnip patch, Steam's virtual keyboard & indicator dots for chat. ːpraisesunːCatnip mowing bonus when mowing with others (50% for 2 players - 500% for 20 players)Virtual keyboard for Steam Deck, Steam Machine & Big Picture Mode when typing for chat, joincode and code (please let me know if it looks funky to you!)Particle effect color of mowing matches catnip nowIndicator dot for new chat messages & alerts per channel and even on the /\\ buttonAdded 2 emails from the forms (thank you clab & fuzzy_replex for the emails!!! want your email in the game? add it here!)Added 2 items from the emails from the forms (a furr and a hat)Fixed not scrolling down bug when new messages appeared that were not in focus (e.g. you're in global, new message in local, then you get to local, you now don't have to scroll down yourself)Updated credits, patches some other bugs and added oldcap codeAlthough this happened before this build - I wanted to mention again that the capsule art \here!], screenshots, store page info and trailer have been updated. It probably won't be updated again until the next section is out with the new NPCs, because it takes a lot of work (and work away from building the game, since it's just meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee). I also created a press kit! ːacidpussːColors and dots...Look at 'dem colors!Indicator dots for new messages and alerts!Steam's keyboard in action...5120x1440 full screen works nicely 1600x1200 still shows the chat's input field and most of chat 640x480.. it works but yeah, can't see what you're typing! And there goes another update! As always, I appreciate everyone playing Mow Meow. It's definitely a strange game that isn't mainstream, nor a clone of a popular genre, and the plan is to finish it by April 1st 2027. Any additional support just motivates me to work harder, so please do lemme know if you find any joy in this creation...

Quests, emails and the cats have eyes

Hey there strays! So glad to finally implement the quest and email systems into Mow Meow! Apparently making them work nicely in multiplayer was a challenge. ːTECsweatːːbbtcatːOn this build we have 16 emails and 2 questlines. Please let me know what you think of the UI flow! I mean, I think it's good but... of course I'm going to say that! ːcsdsmileːThe start of the questlines could be better, so if you're stuck here's a hint - one is by standing on the litterbox in the water for a second, the other is by reading the first email, then wait for the emails. ːmoustachepussːI can't wait to start adding a bunch of NPC questgivers, but before that happens, I need to work on new sections!!!! That will be the next focus. Want to be kept in the loop? one year later...

sorryaboutyourcats here to say thank you for playing Mow Meow! From additions like smooth mowing & mow stopping, to shoes & hats, to a new area & music - a bunch of good stuff has been added since the EA release a year ago.The fact that people are enjoying their time in janky Mow Meow means a lot to me, and I'll consider it done when 4 biomes are complete (though it may be like Diablo 2 with a rushed Act IV 😉).So what's happening for the next major build?⛅ New biome: Cloudtail Drifts🙀 Nippy (An annoying BonziBuddy-style cat that gives you tips)🐈 New NPCs and voice acting for Puma📜 Quest log / Task list (What should I call it..!?)📖 Item info window & better onboarding (video tutorials)👀 Object transparency for things that block your kitty🎩 New furr, hats, shoes and achievements🎮 Better controller & keyboard support... and more!!I'll be taking a 2 week vacation on April 4th and will be working on a few things on the go, but the real work will return on April 20th when we come back to NY.There will be random Mow Meow updates on my IG stories lol: https://www.instagram.com/sorryaboutyourcatsAnd of course, the dev streams will continue sometime in April: Lastly, these were the three updates that happened in March: This big one, and this small one, and thisssss! Thank VOG,sorryaboutyourcats
