About this game
What is Mister Gato Idle - The Meowsiah?
Mister Gato Idle is an idle and incremental game where you can also play other minigames to boost your resources. Follow Mister Gato, a tuxedo cat who plays a banjo as he is sent on a quest to find "The Mew Sound" and become the next Meowsiah.
Who is Mister Gato?
Mister Gato was inspired by a visitor cat (owner approved!) that kept me company during lonely times. I always wondered where else he went, who else he visited. So I wanted to create a game where I'm not locked into a genre and can place him in increasingly more bizarre situations and settings.
No red dots, no daily login, no P2W, no shop, no ads!
This is NOT a mobile port/game! I often play idle games on mobile and find myself installing android emulators to play them on my PC. Often they are left there idling on the 2nd monitor. Mister Gato Idle's aspect ratio is chosen for this purpose, leave it running whilst you play your main game and come back to it and reap the farm! There is a full screen mode if you want that!
What's in the game? - Features:
Farm currency, upgrade and conquer waves, how far can you get?
Adventure across over 30 different biomes each one has a positive and negative effect!
No red dots, no daily login, no P2W, no shop, no ads!
Play minigames! Banjo Hero (rhythm) and Grand Theft Meowto (FPS)
Offline loot based on KPM (kills per min) with no cap!
Steam Cloud and local saves.
Enter Super Banjo Mode for a strategic damage/hp boost if you want to be more active!
Collect Crystals and use them to pull Cards. There are 6 card rarities with the most rare being Unique cards that provide powerful special bonuses. Each card has a chance of rolling 2 or 3x a stat. Purrfect your set and equip up to 10 cards!
Farm Crystals and randomly create skills. Equip up to 4 skills of varying rarities. There are no set skills so it's entirely up to you which ones you equip.

The game features a DPS meter so you can tell which skills are performing and what your highest source of damage is. These are logged to files so external DPS meters can be created.
The Mew Sound
Your basic skill starts humble but as you defeat enemies collect orbs you can upgrade The Mew Sound and become the next Meowsiah! Apply orbs of differing rarities to upgrade your basic skill. The rarest orbs provide powerful buffs at a trade off. This system can be expanded in the future to apply all sorts of random effects and curve RNG.

Minigame - Banjo Hero
Play minigames where you score is converted into currency for the main game. This game features a fully functional rhythm minigame with a choice of 17 songs and varying difficulty levels. Match the notes with the keys!
Minigame - Grand Theft Meowto
Clean up the streets in your home city in this fully functional FPS with drivable cars and displaceable objects. There are many tasks in this city such as he cardboard cut-out challenge, street racing and more! Convert your score into currency.

The Future?
The limits of Mister Gato are endless, I can place him in any style of minigame and the core idle game have massive room for expansion. How far it goes really depends on your feedback and input!

Next Fest Results and Release Date Change
Good Meowning all,Wanted to share the results of the Next Fest and thank everyone who gave the game a try and wishlisted it! The results are probably better than I expected as I had stopped doing any marketing since I released the demo. In fact once I released the demo it was quite a weight off my shoulders as I had got something essentially close to complete out. The original plan was to just release it without the wave cap and with some more polish because to develop me I really needed proper game feedback but never really got much. After some deep thought though I have decided I will push back the release date and flesh the game out more as I believe it still has potential but it's lacking in polish. The game was to release with exactly the features described on the main page but here is what you can expect from this pushed back release:an actual tutorial that takes you through the basicsa basic but thought out story about a cat on his adventures around the universe.at least 2 minigamesmore modes that you'd typically see in an idle games such as boss rushes, towers, etc.revamped skill system as currently one is quite janky.in game shop (not real currency) where you can buy specific unique items to help curve RNG.More unique items! there were only 3 in the demo. Also a reminder there are no plans to add P2W in this game or MTX and there still never will be. I was trying to create a game that mimics an idle game without the P2W. Hopefully that has not disappointed anyone. Enjoy the summer! I will see you again in the fall.Read full article on Community Announcements (Mister Gato)AnnouncementsOfficial
Demo is ready!
Demo is out! Meowdy there! After many iterations and polish Mister Gato Idle - The Meowsiah demo is ready to play! I hope you enjoy playing it. I welcome any feedback about the game and any features you would like to see. This is a solid base and the game can really expand. Features: - Play up to zone 25, you can continue to play after beating zone 25. - All planned features are here. - Play the minigame Banjo Hero which is similar to other rhythm games. Claim rewards based on your high score. - No P2W, no MTX, no red dots, etc. It's not a mobile game despite the way it looks. - Offline rewards with no cap based on a KPM system. - Loot system with rarities and 3 different Unique items. - Random skill generator instead of set skills. No skill trees! - upgrade your base skill with an orb system, customise it how you like. - Super Banjo Mode if you want to play actively. - Manual save and load and a emergency backup save method. Game needs STEAM cloud. Known Bugs - at some point you might lose all of your skills. At the moment skills are a little underpowered so losing these is not that bad but it does happen and it's something I'm looking at Read the Meowpedia if you want more information in game: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/fd173ab5c5b4ac4613a662dade299100e21492b8.png Check your version, should be 1.04 at the time of writing: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/c5da7d0fcb11bde7d9f77d0def0df592e366f4a0.png Early tester with no idle/incremental game experience finally beats wave 25: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/a3ede502b684a5c99cb94f5f28b568701ddfa4c0.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Mister Gato)AnnouncementsOfficial
New Capsule Art and more!
New capsule Art! Meodwy invisible friends! Today I present some new capsule art to replace the old one. Here we feature an updated Meowsiah, higher quality backdrop and I've placed most of the regular enemy cats onto the platform for one of the capsules and left the others ones without enemies. Let me know if it's any good! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/abc60ae80f4c66dedca5bd9812eb56b209281de5.png Minigames! There are 2 mini games at the moment that are just about finished for a Demo. For both games the score is converted into coins and crystals in the main game. This is Flappy Cat where you have to get through gaps within the walls and pick up crystals. The walls moves both up and down and you can bounce off the top of the walls. Crystals spawn that give a bonus score, the higher the crystal on the level the more it awards but the higher the risk. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/a2cfbcce24b687c4f12ba325308d48cd5c712116.png Next we have Banjo Hero. There is a banjo song that plays and you have to match the notes by pressing the right key on the keyboard. You get more points for a perfect strike and lose points for missing. It's fairly simple in it's implementation but it's fun and expandable! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/cba12a6b60b3b314ea7ff499bc918cc7de268073.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Mister Gato)AnnouncementsOfficial
Offline Loot mechanic using Steam Time and KPM
Offline Loot mechanic Mister Gato Idle features an offline loot mechanic. When your offline your awarded coin and crystals depending on your KPM (kills per minute). This is how it works: the game calculates a KPM (kills per minute). This calculation takes 1 min to calculate and freezes during a boss. when you quit the game your exit time is noted in the Steam Cloud (using Steam time) along with the KPM. if your KPM is 0, it will default to 20. when the game loads it will use the current Steam Time and compare it to your saved time to work out how long you were offline for. You are then awarded an appropriate amount of coin and crystal dependant on the wave you were at This means you can be offline and still get critical rewards. You don't get any orbs from doing this though. This means you should use gear that maximises your KPM and make sure it is recorded before you quit the game to get the maximum benefit. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/49e2f9adb8cf905c788f8a840dcc2101271de879.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Mister Gato)AnnouncementsOfficial
Minigames!
Good Meowning! I'm working on minigames to play inside the idle game. The idea is you can find a rare arcade token or it will be time limited and you can play a variety of skill based arcade games. Your score gets converted into coins/crystals so the better you do the more rewards you get. So far I have 2 working prototypes that need some polish. This is a prototype for "Flappy Bird" style game. The walls fall from the top and there is a gap for the player to jump through. The walls gets faster as the game goes on. Instead of dying when you hit the bottom, you can remain at the bottom but crystals spawn at different heights which are worth a lot of points forcing you to decide to move to collect them or not: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/4fb71dfc9b86c67e813012bb491db79baaf346d9.png Next is quite exciting, it's a rhythm game using one of the ingame songs. The notes fall and you press the right key awarding more points for perfect timing, etc. I'm aiming this one to be a little bit more like New World's rhythm game in complexity so there won't be any fancy holds/star power etc. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45537008/0b50c686d84b7122da982cfe46ce7b55e9335713.png There are a lot more minigames I could make. If you've any ideas let me know!Read full article on Community Announcements (Mister Gato)
