Explore the gritty streets as a detective in Man of Nollyn, an indie adventure from Slater Chae. Unravel clues by bribing or intimidating suspects in this noir mystery.

About this game

The lone game developer thought, sipping his cold coffee:

"What if I made a classic noir detective game, but with some twists? A little jazz in the background. A few bad jokes. Maybe throw in some characters with actual feelings, just for fun. Have them go through some real life shit. How about that?”

And so, Man of Nollyn was born.

Not all detectives wear fedoras and trench coats. Man of Nollyn is the story of young adults who grew up too fast, solving brutal crimes, and making mistakes along the way. You'll be playing as Vin Virosa, a street-borne private eye with a foul mouth and a dark past. Your clients are Katherine and Chloe, two ambitious police officers looking to prove themselves.

Unique investigation mechanisms: Bribery & Intimidation

Stuck on something? Need a hint? In Man of Nollyn, you don't get that by asking nicely. Bribe suspects with money, or even shove a gun in their face to discover the truth. Not the noblest act, but hey. What’s the worst that could happen?

Features

  • A side-scrolling noir-style detective game with sharp wit and biting satire

  • Bribe suspects or intimidate them into spilling their secrets

  • Short answer questions. A real detective wouldn’t just guess, right?

  • Rich jazz soundtrack. Really makes you feel like an actual genius.

Hello, Detectives of Nollyn. This is Slater Chae, the developer of "Man of Nollyn". With Update v1.03, map designs of the first chapter have been improved. Since these maps were created early in development, they lacked the quality of maps from later chapters. With this update, they have been updated to better match the rest of the game. Along with this update, Man of Nollyn will be available at 90% off on Steam. This is the biggest discount the game has ever received. Thank you for checking out Man of Nollyn. As always, your feedback and support in any form are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me if you encounter any problems while playing. Hope you have a wonderful day. Slater.

    Man of Nollyn Update v1.01

Hello, Detectives of Nollyn. This is Slater Chae, the developer of "Man of Nollyn", Regular Update v1.01 for Man of Nollyn (full game) is now live. The update is as follows: Ending Clarity Update At the very end of each ending, a new screen will now be displayed. This screen informs players how many endings exist in total without explicitly naming or labeling what ending they achieved. A subtle hint is also included, implying how the player reached the ending. ** Major spoiler Alert ** Put your cursor on the black box to see the image -> Added “Exit Game” option to the main menu Players can now properly close the game via the main menu. About character movement speed Some players have asked for a way to speed up character movement. Unfortunately, due to the way RPG Maker handles movement speed, changing it is far more disruptive than it sounds. Adjusting movement speed affects the entire system, leaving only two viable options: 1) Normal walking speed (×1), or 2) Permanent sprinting speed (×2), which feels unnatural and breaks scene pacing. Adding a dash button is also not feasible, as the dash key is already tied to object interaction. For these reasons, character movement speed will remain as-is. I’ll continue looking for possible solutions, but for now, this is a limitation I can’t safely work around. Thank you for checking out Man of Nollyn. As always, your feedback and support in any form are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me if you encounter any problems while playing.
