  Have you heard of "Tumbal Anak"?

  During the conception phase of the game, we came across a disturbing story about “Tumbal Anak” within a horror story submission from our community. This whole thing about "Tumbal Anak" is something we can’t stop thinking about... “Tumbal” roughly translates to sacrifice or offering. “Anak” means child. Together: Tumbal Anak, a child sacrifice. In certain black magic practices, especially the more extreme versions of pesugihan (rituals seeking wealth or fortune), the spirit granting riches sometimes demands a life in return. Most of the time, this means an animal, symbolic suffering, or in rare cases… a human soul. And in the darkest cases? The soul of a child, sometimes even the practitioner’s own child. Why children? In these myths, children are seen as pure, unblemished, and incredibly valuable to spirits. Giving one up is considered the ultimate show of loyalty, and in return, the practitioner gets wealth, status, or even protection. But there’s always a catch. The stories always end the same: the wealth turns sour. The practitioner either loses their mind, dies mysteriously, or is haunted forever by the child they gave up. The game We’re not showing violence. We’re not glorifying the act. We’re telling a story of generational guilt, of an unnamed village that made a deal long ago, and the quiet curse that lingered.   This is the first installment of (The Lingering) Series. Welcome to (The Lingering) Last Customer. Set in the Pamali: Indonesian Folklore Horror universe, (The Lingering) is an episodic atmospheric horror series, inspired by true horror events and urban legends in Indonesia. Each episode tells the unsettling stories of those who cross paths with the lingers. In (The Lingering) Last Customer, you step into the shoes of Devi, a young woman who just worked overtime. Exhausted and desperate for relief, she books a late-night massage at Ahola Spa & Reflexology—the only place that is still open. A kind-looking female therapist welcomes her in, giving a much-needed escape Devi desires. Little did she know the horror lingers inside the massage parlor. 🎮 THE GAMEPLAY 🎮 A fixed-cam, narrative-driven, atmospheric horror with a twisting “Limbo” Puzzle Mechanic. In this atmospheric horror game, the player must be aware of their surroundings. Carefully solve the puzzle, or get lost in Limbo for eternity. 📝 THE STORY 📝 Devi, a 27-year-old woman, has just finished working overtime and desperately needs a massage—otherwise, she won’t make it through another day at work. She heads to the only open massage parlor, Ahola Spa & Reflexology, where a kind-looking therapist greets her. Despite it being past closing time, the therapist agrees to give her a session, promising the escape Devi so desperately desires. She gets ready and lies down for a smooth and relaxing treatment. But soon, strange things begin to happen. What was meant to be a therapeutic night quickly turns traumatic. Panicked, Devi scrambles to escape, only to realize she is trapped in the lingering horror lurking within the spa.
