Development Update: Major Refactoring
Hey everyone!Daria from Possum Riot speaking 👋We’ve been a bit quiet since the demo launched, so we wanted to share what we’ve been working on.Long story short: we’ve been rebuilding the game from the ground up.“Refactoring” honestly doesn’t fully describe it anymore. As we’ve gone deeper into Unity and C#, we’ve found much better ways to structure the project, so instead of patching the old systems, we decided to rework the core architecture almost from scratch. It’s not the flashiest kind of progress, and we don’t have a pile of shiny new screenshots to show yet, but this is one of the most important things we can do for the game’s future. For us, it means we’ll be able to add new content and features much faster, with less fighting against old systems. For you, it should mean a smoother, more stable, and more polished experience overall. What’s next? We’re not sure exactly how long the refactoring will take, but we’re doing our best to get an updated demo out by the end of summer. We’re planning to split that into two steps:The first update will be mostly technical. The main purpose of this update will be to fix the bugs. The content and features will stay the same, but everything will be running on the new architecture behind the scenes. The second update will bring more of the fun stuff: more crafting elements, more customers, story customers, a talents and a progress systems, and more content overall. We also want to take part in Next Fest this October, so over the coming months we’ll do everything we can to polish the demo and make it as strong as possible before then. And once that’s done, we’ll shift our full focus back to the complete game. Thanks a lot for your patience and support. It means a ton to us, and we’re excited to keep building this game properly.See you soon!Read full article on Community Announcements (airadavometra)AnnouncementsOfficial
Demo Out Now For Roughly Crafted!
Hey everyone!I’m Vlad from Possum Riot. We are a small indie team of just 2 people and currently we are working on Roughly Crafted. We’ve just released the demo and we’re really excited to finally let people play it.Roughly Crafted is a laid-back, humorous crafting sim in which you inherit your grandad’s old workshop, where weapons are crafted not just from wood and metal, but also from monster eyes, fish bones, deer hooves, and other odd materials. Each part has unique traits, and your challenge is to design custom weapons from them to satisfy the needs of peculiar customers. Fulfill orders, earn money, build your reputation, and unlock new crafting parts to create even stranger weapons for increasingly demanding clients.Right now, this is very much an Early Demo. It’s still rough around the edges, missing content and features, and there are definitely some bugs and QoL issues we want to improve. We’re planning to keep updating it over time, with your feedback helping us shape the full game, expand it with more content, and release it in the late 2026.In particular we want to:Fix QoL issues and bugs, polish the crafting system and improve its UXAdd more crafting content, new blueprints, joints and materials from ordinary to bizarreIntroduce more clients of different ages, genders, and fantasy racesAdd more types of orders, including blueprint and material combinations, limited budgets, and other special requirementsMake deeper upgrade systems and meta-progression, including ideas like a skill tree and quest bookIntegrate Twitch so viewers can send in their own orders for the streamer to fulfilAnd more ideas to come. We'd love your help finding them ✨Kudos to these wonderful people who made let’s play videos of the demo on YouTube.MaDaBronze$Free.99ZeroSimYour opinion is important to us. You can help to make this game better by leaving your feedback in the game's Discord or in the demo's reviews. And if you liked the demo you can support us by wishlisting on Steam.
