About this game

When the world drowned, only the light remained

After a cataclysm that swallowed continents and erased civilization, a handful of survivors discover a solitary lighthouse standing above the endless ocean. Around its glow, humanity makes its last stand.

You are their leader, the one who must rebuild, protect, and guide the final city of humankind.

The Lighthouse: The Heart of Survival

Your lighthouse is more than a beacon. It’s life itself.

🔹 Keep the Flame Alive – Generate power, gather fuel, and manage what little remains of the old world. If the light dies, people vanish into the darkness.

🔹 A Beacon for the Lost – The light draws drifters from across the sea. Each new survivor brings labor, stories, and hope, but also new mouths to feed.

🔹 Guard the Light, Fear the Depths – The ocean hides ancient secrets and unknown dangers waiting beyond the beam’s reach.

Survive the Unforgiving Ocean

⚫ The Darkness – The lighthouse must never fail, or you risk losing people to an unseen force that lurks beyond the light.
🌊 Unforgiving Weather – Face devastating storms that tear apart your structures and dead calms that starve your city of resources.
🎣 Resource Scarcity – Manage food, energy, and morale as supplies dwindle and the sea grows more hostile.

⚖ Choices That Shape Humanity – Decide who to save, who to sacrifice, and what kind of world is worth rebuilding.

Key Features

🏗 Radial City-Building – Expand your city outward from the lighthouse, constructing and optimizing structures in a dynamic, ever-growing settlement.
⚖ Moral Dilemmas – Survivors will come to you with desperate requests. Deny too many, and your rule will collapse. How far will you go to maintain order?
⏳ Constant Tension – Keep the lighthouse running, manage limited resources, and adapt to the ever-changing oceanic environment—your survival depends on it.

The sea remembers.
The light flickers.
And somewhere in the deep, something stirs.

Will you lead humanity’s last city or watch it drown beneath the waves?

    Development Update #1

Hello everyone! It's been a little while since our last major development update, so we'd like to share some of the progress we've made on Drownlight. Over the past few months, we’ve been continuing to expand several core systems, rework existing features, and experiment with new ideas. Some of these changes are already in a solid state, while others are still being refined. Here’s a closer look at what we’ve been working on.ExpeditionsExpeditions have been one of our main development priorities recently. This system connects to many other parts of the game, including progression, resource balance, survivor management, and the different types of encounters players can discover. The underlying system is now in a good functional state. We’re following our “functionality first, visuals later” approach, so while the final presentation still needs additional work, the core mechanics are already in place.Players will be able to organize expeditions to search for resources, rescue survivors, and investigate various locations scattered across the world. Some places may have been abandoned long ago, others might be better left unexplored.2. StoryDuring one of our earlier closed playtests, a small group of players had the opportunity to experience an early version of Drownlight.Their feedback helped us identify several areas that needed improvement, particularly when it came to introducing players to the game.At that stage, much of the story content was temporary and primarily existed to test the narrative systems.Since then, we’ve completely rewritten the opening portion of the game. The goal is to make the introduction feel more natural, while giving players a clearer understanding of both Drownlight’s mechanics and the world they are entering. The underlying storytelling systems remain largely the same, but the experience surrounding them has changed significantly.3. CitizensWe’ve also continued expanding the behavior of citizens living within your settlement.Citizens now have ac...

It’s something that genuinely helped me keep going and continue improving the game. The Kickstarter campaign is now live, and if you’re interested, I’d really appreciate you taking a look. Even just checking it out, sharing it, or spreading the word can make a big difference.Check Out the Drownlight Kickstarter Thank you again for being here and for supporting the project.

Drownlight Story Trailer and Final Days Before Kickstarter

Today I want to share the story trailer for Drownlight.Drownlight began as a personal project, developed at night with a simple idea. A small group of survivors finds a lighthouse and begins building around it. That light becomes their only chance to survive, but also their greatest responsibility.Over the past months, closed playtests and feedback have helped shape the direction of the game. The Kickstarter on March 24 is the next step to grow Drownlight into what it is meant to become. If you have been following the project, thank you.If you want to help bring Drownlight further, following and supporting the Kickstarter would mean a lot.We are very close now.Follow on Kickstarter and make sure to join Discord
