About this game
A 6v6 MOBA MADE TO EVOLVE THE GENRE
7 UNIQUE CLASSES TO ALLOW MORE FREEDOM, CHOICE, & DYNAMIC GAMEPLAY
During Early Access, Ethereal will have 7 classes each with their own ability, take Flight into the sky as a Sky Slayer, Smash through walls & barriers with the Berserkers, Climb Walls as a Reaper, or Teleport Across the Map to support your team as an Archmage and more!
THE MOBA EXPERIENCE REDEFINED
With Allies and Enemies coming from the skies, the walls, and the ground. No other MOBA gives you control to take down enemies any way you can imagine. Ethereal is a 6v6 MOBA that focuses on Strategic gameplay with a unique spin on the conventional 3-lane MOBA map design where you could literally take an enemy and throw them off the map, or climb a wall to reassess a situation and strategize.
During the Early Access release, you'll be able to play several modes where the focus is to defeat the enemies Elder by destroying waves of minions, obliterating ancient structures, and push into the enemies base.
CHOOSE YOUR MYTH
In Ethereal, you'll pick a Myth each match, each complete with their own 4 unique active abilities and a passive such as grabbing enemies and throwing them where you want, flying across the battlefield to save a friend, or firing a laser across the map to execute an enemy. The choice is yours to find your favourite myth and lead your team to victory!
Early Access is currently planned to have 20 Myths at Early Access release, with more releasing consistently throughout.
THE 7 CLASSES
We previously mentioned the 7 classes below you'll be able to learn about each class and their full details:
Archmage Class
Archmages can place teleportation sigils around the map, granting themselves positional advantages and help them to navigate the Ether more efficiently.
Berserker Class
Berserkers can destroy certain parts of the map; revealing paths, creating new ones, or blocking off areas. Utilizing this ability will apply a cooldown.
Cleric Class
A pledge will be made, a pact will be formed. Worship specific Ethereans, gaining a tome of your choosing each match. Each tome will grant the user a unique bonus.
Knight Class
Choose a relic at the start of the match. Complete certain goals to provide yourself with unique effects!
Marksman Class
Blink in the direction your Myth is facing. Can not go through walls. Takedowns on Myths reduce the cooldown by 30 seconds
Reaper Class
Reapers are able to scale over specific parts of the terrain, this ability is limited by the Myth's stamina.
Sky Slayer Class
This ability grants them the gift of flight, allowing them to take to the skies and pass over large areas quickly!
GET STARTED IN MINUTES
Learning a new MOBA can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Our Tutorials & Quality of Life Systems like Auto-Build & Auto-Level ensure that when you Play Ethereal, you can learn the game at your own pace.
SIMPLIFIED ITEM SYSTEM
Ethereal's Item System is unique in letting you pick your final items early on, complete with it's base stats. Then throughout the match, you'll upgrade your items with additional Gems that let you customize your character's build even further. When all 4 gems have been added to an item, you'll unlock it's passive ability for even greater playmaking potential. No more outdated component item systems like you'll see in other MOBA's,
EXPRESS YOURSELF, YOUR WAY
During Early Access & Beyond, you'll be able to purchase cosmetics to upgrade the look of your myth, emotes for showing off against other players, voice packs for the announcer, and much more. Ethereal will only ever contain paid cosmetics and will never sell power or Pay-To-Win style items.
In addition, Loot Boxes or other Gacha style systems are not something we think benefits the community, so we will not be putting those types of systems in Ethereal.
THE COMMUNITY & OUR PHILOSOPHY
The community of players that Ethereal has cultivated during development has been one of the team's greatest achievements so far, and we are determined to create a game that not only honors that community, but also puts a lot of focus on respecting our players time investment and everyone's desire for Ethereal to become the best it can be. Thank you for your support so far, and we can't wait to show everyone what we have in store.
If you haven't already, please consider Wishlisting Ethereal on Steam as that it the
single best way you can support the game without spending any money.

Small Things That Make Ethereal Less Annoying
Small update this week while we work on some larger changes in the background. This one is mostly about the smaller stuff that makes the game easier to read, easier to share, and hopefully a little less annoying to play. Not every update needs to be a giant new system. Sometimes the important work is making sure the game tells you what is happening before it quietly ruins your day.Read the full blog here:https://etherealcos.com/news/small-things-that-make-the-game-less-annoyingMinions Now Tell You When They Hate YouWe added a new visual effect for when minions are aggro’d onto you. That is a fancy way of saying: when minions decide you are the problem, the game now does a better job telling you.The effect is meant to be subtle. We do not want every minion interaction to look like a fireworks show, but we also do not want players getting chunked by minions and wondering why these tiny lane gremlins suddenly chose violence. This may still need tuning, but the goal is simple: more clarity without adding more visual noise.Discord Integration Is InWe also finished implementing our Discord integration.Right now, Discord can show when someone is playing Ethereal, who they are playing, what mode they are in, and which skin they are using. It can currently display things like:When someone is working in EtherealWhen a player is creating a custom gameWhen a player enters Myth SelectWhether they are playing 6v6 or 3v3Which Myth and skin they are using, including image previewsThis version is mostly about presence. Simple, useful, and not trying to pretend it is the most revolutionary thing ever built. In the future, we want to explore expanding this with game invites and possibly links that let players immediately spectate allies in-game. That last part is still in the “cool idea, needs testing before we make promises” category.Settings Are Getting Built OutWe have also started work on more player settings. This includes Myth-specific settings around casting behavior, including norma...Read full article on Community Announcements (JellyKnees)AnnouncementsOfficial
What Worked, What Didn’t, and What’s Next
April Dev Update Is LiveWe pushed forward in a few areas that actually change how the game feels, and we stalled in one that’s pretty visible.Map clarity and traversal got real improvements. Bots and combat feedback are in a better spot. UI is still behind where it should be, even though the groundwork is finally in place. It’s a mixed update, but a useful one.If you want the full breakdown, context, and what we’re aiming for next month, watch it here:Watch the Developer UpdateAs always, feedback matters more than you think.Read full article on Community Announcements (JellyKnees)AnnouncementsOfficial
Combat Feel & Map Clarity
We just published a new dev blog focused on improving how the game feels to play and how clearly you can understand what’s happening during matches. This update is less about big flashy features and more about the moment-to-moment experience. What’s NewMelee Hitstop (Basic Attacks) We’ve added hitstop to melee basic attacks. When an attack connects, there’s a very slight pause to give the hit more impact.Hits feel less floatyEasier to tell when you land vs missStill being tuned to avoid feeling slow or clunkyReal-Time Portals (v1) You can now see what’s happening on the other side of a portal before going through it.Check fights before committingSee enemy positioningMake decisions with actual information instead of guessingWhat’s next: We’re working on improving how portals feel to travel through, with smoother transitions and less visual/movement friction.Kahlea Kit Changes We’ve made adjustments to better match her intended “hit-and-run” playstyle.Removed Spirits Ignite (E)Moved Spirit Pillar into her base kitUltimate moved to RDamage Number ImprovementsUpdated styling for better readabilityAdded option for:Individual damage numbers (every hit shown)Stacked damage numbers (combined total for rapid hits)Community PollWe’re currently testing how invisible units should interact with towers and want your input.Should towers reveal invisible units?AlwaysOnly when targetedNeverLet us know what you think.Full Dev BlogIf you want to see videos and a deeper breakdown of these changes:https://etherealcos.com/news/animations-portals-and-invisibilityThese changes are all part of a bigger goal: making the game feel responsive, readable, and intentional instead of chaotic. We’ll keep iterating based on your feedback.Read full article on Community Announcements (JellyKnees)
