Explore MuteX+, an intense action game from Gassbuster Studios and Eelpunk Studios, released in 2026. Master unique moves to defeat Anobrite nests and their bosses through precise mouse-controlled combat.

About this game

Heavily inspired by the flash game Amorphous+.
With your cursor guiding every movement, fight through mutating enemies in a uniquely-challenging arcade hack'n'slash experience. Each level full of dynamic enemies, events, and bosses demands true mastery over your action mechanics and knowledge, and there is nothing to stop you from achieving that.

OVERVIEW

You play as Brig, a researcher given an experimental weapon by her company's military division. She must cut through and search the nearby Anobrite nests by force in hopes of finding something that will end her company's stagnating war, whether it be a simple resource or the secret workings of a completely different organization.

LEARN YOUR ENEMIES

Mid-combat, T1 Anobrites have a chance of merging into T2 Anobrites when they collide with eachother. The output is consistent, depending on which two T1 Anobrites collide.

Each Anobrite has its own behavior, attacks, and unique interactions with the player's moveset. Learning how to fight each one (and even multiple at the same time) is as important as mastering your moveset when it comes to success.

MASTER YOUR MOVESET

Brigand's moveset starts with a simple Slash, Punch, and Dash. Each ability has its own properties and variants depending on when it is used, resulting in a large variety of unique combos and tech out of a simple foundation.

For example, Dashing into an enemy lets you Bounce off of them, making you invincible to attacks and turning your Slash into an unstoppable Spinslash. And those are the only I-frames you're getting.

OVERCOME A CHALLENGE LIKE NO OTHER

Brig automatically moves and aims towards the player's cursor. Additonally, your Dash is not a dodge roll. Every facet of MuteX+ demands mastery of unconventional action mechanics, but rewards you with a truly unique and satisfying arcade-style experience for taking the challenge.

As you clear through each nest and fight each boss that awaits you at the end, know that there is no artificial progression to rely on. Only your skill and knowledge will result in victory, and there is a learnable out to every situation.

Combat Polish + The Beginning of Bosses+

I'm finally back after a development break. It's time to finish this game up.ContentNEW LEVEL TYPE: Boss+. After no-hitting a Boss, you can fight a MUCH harder version of them. They also get an additional feature or piece of equipment to set them apart.Added Boss+ versions of Gigabrite and Scarred Experiment.NEW TUTORIAL: Advanced Tutorial. Helps players learn important, more advanced tech that their moveset can do.Rewrote the dialogue for the Basic Tutorial.Added a section to the Basic Tutorial that talks about Anobrite merging, as well as a new page in the Tutorial Menu for it.NEW VISUAL MECHANIC: Trick Display. Doing cool stuff will stack up a popup depending on what trick you did. Visual/AudioScarred Experiment's waves now have a different indicator, instead using a giant red arrow warning to show the path.Every boss attack that has a non-random trigger condition now has a proper indicator. For example, a yellow ring now shows the proximity trigger for Gigabrite to do a slam instead of a punch in his Melee Stance.Every boss now has a new type of indicator: Hints. Hints are faint white indicators used to help the player learn/remember learnable boss patterns. For example, Gigabrite's stomps always alternate between a plus and a cross shot pattern, so a hint on the upcoming shot pattern now pops up after specific non-stomp attacks to remind the player of the most recent shot pattern. Combo scoring has been slightly reworked to allow for more free-flow combos to count as proper combos. Instead of instantly ending when the swing ends, there is now a 0.25s timer that gets reset on additional hits. This shouldn't affect nest comboing that much, but it lets you actually get consistent combos on bosses for better visual feedback.Removed the volume increase that higher combos had. Pitch enough is fine.Added a distinct border to the arena during the Nightmare Growth fight.New sounds and animations have been added to Gigabrite. There is now a pause, animation, and screen in...

    The Funeral's Witness Update

Content/BalancingNEW LEVEL: Volcano (6-S and 6-E).NEW POWERUP: In Killing Memory. Unlocked by beating 4-SEXPLOSIVE SHIELD REWORK: The explosion isn’t as big anymore, but the shield now gets ejected upon taking a hit. This ejected shield will continuously explode until the powerup duration ends, and the player can either Punch it around or use Bounce to carry it with them.PROGRESSION REWORK: 1-S and 2-S are unlocked from the start, but both of those need to be beaten to unlock 3-S. Beating 3-S unlocks both 4-S and 5-S, and both of those need to be beaten to unlock 6-S.DEMO OUT VERY SOON: It says it'll be released midnight, but don't kill me if it doesn't come out at that time. It's in Steam's hands now. FREE PLAY COMPLETE. Every T1 can have their spawns set, every T2 can be directly spawned, and there's a small list of actions you can enable like healing, godmode, or powerups. You do not have to see an enemy to be able to spawn them in Practice Mode (this is so that demo players can check out every enemy), but you do need to have the powerup unlocked to use it.The Tutorial now includes a Boxer and The Dummy, and some of the Tutorial text has been improved.New Bestiary logs have been added and now almost every enemy has at least one log. More Advice has been added too.Mutation rates have been reduced for: Assassin, Chariot.Spawns have been modified for: Beach, ForestEnemies that are actively mutating can now be killed by the player.Gigabrite's Phase 2 has been changed to something less stupid. Additionally, he will now teleport to the player if they get too far from him during his Presence Stance. The waves generated by Knife Overcharge now deal 1 damage. Perhaps I was looking at range too much and forgetting that each wave doing 2 damage is a little absurd. It's still very powerful after this.SPRITE REWORK: Sprites now move slower, and take much longer to fire, but their projectile initially travels much faster. When mulling over some pain points of Forest's design, ...
