Hello everyone, it's been a few months now since I last made an update. Since the final update for the Demo, I have moved on to work on the final build for Freetown Forest. I can say with full confidence I am roughly halfway done with putting the main game together working on one major zone at a time. Thanks to all the work I did for the demo, it's actually been a breeze putting the main build together. Here are some areas I completed recently:There are some challenges, like figuring out puzzle mechanics or handling some sequence orders, but I have found that the solutions are often more simple than they first appear.small example of a sequence issue with a puzzle. It requered some finesse, but I got it working. It has been exciting seeing the progress I have been making especially for some segments that I have had the assets lying around in a folder for almost a couple of years at this point. There is always more to do and I am still coming up with more things to add while avoiding scope creep. My goal is to complete this project within the next year and really get the ball rolling on popularizing this chunk of New England as a setting for horror like it deserves to be.I do have multiple avenues to contact me, for anyone interested and I would love to see more people play the demo and post their reactions. If you see me around on social media, don't hesitate to drop me a message and let me know what you think.Thank you for playing and stay safe while walking in the woods.Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixelarttony)AnnouncementsOfficial
Final Demo Release
After months of tinkering it's finally done! a demo that will reflect much closer to how Freetown Forest is meant to be experienced. Than you everyone who gave me feed back and suggestions. I hope people enjoy this experience as much as I did putting it together. No begins the process of building the final product and really showing people this criminally under represented area in New England.Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixelarttony)AnnouncementsOfficial
Under Construction 🛠
Thank you to everyone who's played the Freetown Forest demo so far — and especially to those who took the time to share thoughtful feedback. It means a lot and is directly shaping the direction I'm heading. Right now, I'm deep in the rework to bring the demo closer to the final vision. What to expect in the upcoming update:Refined controls & UI — Smoother movement, clearer displays, collision fixes, and better feel overall Cleaner artwork — Polishing sprites, atmosphere, to add more uniformity and enhancing visual appeal.Expanded gameplay mechanics — adding more puzzles, areas to explore, items to collect, and endings to see.Improved scares — more to see, more to fear. If you've been following me on X or TikTok (@pixelarttony), you've probably caught glimpses of the new additions — trail blazing mechanics, seeing what happens when rules aren't followed, and more unnerving encounters. This rework builds on all that to make the experience feel more cohesive and terrifying. Thanks again for your patience and support during this solo-dev journey. I'm taking the time needed to make it right, and I can't wait to share the improved demo with you soon. In the meantime: Wishlist Freetown Forest on Steam if you haven't already! Drop any thoughts/feedback/suggestions below — what scares you most in the woods? What would make the horror hit harder? Stay safe out there... and watch the trails. 🌲🦌Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixelarttony)Patch NotesOfficial

Demo Patch 1.3
After receiving some feedback, the ghost calls were removed. Players felt them being stuck listening to a call without the option to skip slowed down the pace. Instead the player now has the option to walk past proximate activated radios that will give them hints on what to do, where to go, and give them story beats.Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixelarttony)
