About the Game

BUILD. AUTOMATE. FIGHT. SURVIVE.
A fully customizable, harsh open-world survival sandbox set in a world overtaken by the ORMOD. Start in an infinite world that changes every playthrough, then tailor the experience to your liking, from world rules and difficulty to whether you play solo, co-op, or on larger persistent 24/7 servers.
FEATURE OVERVIEW:
Infinite, fully customizable procedural worlds
Choose your experience: solo, co-op, or large persistent servers
Multiple modes, including PvP, PvE, Hardcore, Creative, and mini-games
Player-defined difficulty and world settings
Physical and persistent item simulation
Unique tile-based base building
Full automation and mega-factory construction
Realistic combat and advanced ballistic simulation
Deep survival mechanics (health, sickness, temperature, farming, etc.)
Skills, quests, and a dynamic player-driven economy
Dynamic world events: crash sites, airdrops, global PvP encounters
Vehicles with realistic handling and manual gear systems
Nighttime mechanoid hunts that challenge any playstyle

INFINITE AND FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE WORLDS
No two playthroughs are the same. Every session generates new towns, buildings, roads, and terrain layouts, allowing players to shape their own survival experience from the ground up.
PLAY SOLO, WITH FRIENDS, OR ON 24/7 SERVERS
Choose exactly how you want to play. Tweak world difficulty, customize rules, and decide whether you explore alone, host private sessions with friends, or join larger 24/7 persistent servers. Play PvP, PvE, Hardcore, Creative, mini-games, or custom server types as you build, automate, fight, and survive in a world that never stops moving.
PHYSICAL AND PERSISTANT ITEMS
Every item exists physically in the world and stays where it is left. Loot shelves, steal gear directly from other players, or return later to find signs of someone else’s struggle. Build bases using a unique tile-based construction system, then defend them from machines or rival survivors.

UNIQUE TILE-BASED BUILDING
Build and defend a custom base using a flexible tile system not seen in any other game. Switch to a top-down construction view to place walls, rooms, and fortifications, then upgrade every element using materials you find or craft.
FULL RESOURCE AUTOMATION
Create massive automated production lines capable of crafting weapons, materials, supplies, and equipment. Establish factories, fortify outposts, and develop complex resource systems that run while you focus on exploration or combat.
REALISTIC COMBAT SIMULATION
Combat is grounded, physical, and skill-based. Use advanced weapon modification, slow and fast reloads, leaning, realistic ballistic penetration, and armor simulation. Survive encounters using tactics rather than pure stats.
DEEP SURVIVAL SYSTEMS & MECHANOID THREAT
The world pushes back with deep survival mechanics, including hunger, sickness, injuries, temperature, farming, cooking, and medical treatment. When night falls, mechanoids emerge and roam the world, hunting relentlessly even when you are playing solo. Their presence ensures that the world remains dangerous, reactive, and unpredictable at all times.

SKILLS, QUESTS & TRADING
Complete quests, trade valuable items, and upgrade your character through a dynamic item-driven economy. Follow storyline missions, meet in-game characters, earn experience, and unlock new skills and unique rewards that shape your playstyle.
DYNAMIC WORLD EVENTS
Respond to helicopter crash sites, airdrops, global PvP encounters, and other emergent scenarios that create constant risk and reward.
VEHICLES WITH TRUE-TO-LIFE HANDLING
Repair and operate vehicles like cars and helicopters, each with realistic handling and manual gear systems.
If you’re looking for an open-world survival game with infinite replayability, deep systems, realistic combat, player-driven worlds, and full control over how you want to play, ORMOD: Directive delivers a complete survival sandbox built for creativity, challenge, and emergent gameplay.

ORMOD: Directive Playtest #5 Begins This Friday
ORMOD’S BIGGEST PLAYTEST YET IS THIS WEEKEND!This Friday, ORMOD: Directive enters a new era with Playtest #5, bringing the largest update to the game so far. Following Gamescom last month, where more than 10,000 people visited the ORMOD booth, we’ve been hard at work rebuilding and expanding major parts of the game from the ground up. For Playtest #5, we’re inviting a total of 250,000+ players to jump in and experience the new ORMOD. A Completely Rebuilt WorldOne of the biggest changes you’ll notice immediately is the world itself. We’ve completely overhauled world generation, with towns, villages, roads, railways, power lines, and wilderness areas now generating with more deliberate layouts. Settlements and travel routes should feel more natural, while different parts of the world feel more distinct as you explore. We’re also pushing towards 300+ players per server, giving you a much larger world to explore, survive in, and fight over. Claim It. Fortify It. Make It Home. We’re giving players significantly more freedom over where and how they build. More existing locations can now be claimed and fortified, including warehouses, sheds, churches, construction sites, and garages, with 5 levels of fortification available alongside support for doors and garage doors. Building close to POIs is now possible too, opening up far more options for where you choose to establish yourself. Found the perfect little shed in the middle of nowhere? It might just become your new home.Build Your Own ATVVehicles are becoming a much bigger part of ORMOD. Players can now scavenge the materials needed to build their own ATV, with multiple variants available. You’ll need Amber Fuel Cells to keep them running as you venture further across the expanded world. You can also construct a Vehicle Workshop as part of your base to support the new vehicle gameplay loop. New MechanoidsOf course, getting your hands on those Fuel Cells isn’t necessarily going to be easy. New Mechanoid threats have been a...Read full article on Community Announcements (Riley)AnnouncementsOfficial
