About this game

Feature List

URBANISM is a first-person horror investigation game built around exploration, tension, and survival.

You enter large, abandoned environments with a simple objective: investigate the area, complete a series of tasks, and find a way out.

But something is hunting you.

You cannot see the entities with your own eyes. Your video camera can.

The camera becomes your only way of detecting what is around you. What looks like an empty hallway may reveal something standing only a few meters away when viewed through the screen. Use it carefully, watch your surroundings, and learn when it is safe to move.

Each stage requires you to explore the environment and complete multiple objectives before an escape route becomes available. While you search for what you need, the entity is constantly looking for you.

The first large map is already in development, with many more environments planned for the future.

Features

  • Explore large, atmospheric environments.

  • Investigate strange locations while completing multiple objectives.

  • Use a handheld video camera to detect entities invisible to the naked eye.

  • Stay alert as the entity hunts you throughout the map.

  • Search for items and interact with the environment to progress.

  • Each run can play out differently through randomized elements.

  • More maps and locations planned.

Keep your camera ready. You never know what is standing in front of you.

About the Game

The entities hunting you cannot be seen with the naked eye. Your video camera is the only way to reveal them. What appears to be an empty corridor, room, or street may show something entirely different through the camera's screen.

Use your camera to track what is following you, stay aware of your surroundings, and decide when to move, hide, or run.

The issue is related to how the game handles certain display/resolution configurations.I am actively investigating the underlying cause and will work on fixing the Borderless/resolution behaviour in a future update.❤️ THANK YOUUrbanism has been a huge solo-development project, and seeing it finally available on Steam is honestly surreal. If you encounter bugs, performance problems, ...

    Preparing for release

Urbanism — Preparing for ReleaseHello everyone,I wanted to share a development update on Urbanism and where things currently stand.First, thank you for your patience and continued support. As a solo indie developer, I’ve been fully focused on fixing bugs, polishing systems, and making sure the overall experience feels stable, refined, and optimized. This process took longer than I initially expected, but it was necessary to deliver a higher quality game.Current ProgressThe game is now approximately 95% complete and entering its final stage of development.Recent focus areas include:• Bug fixing and stability improvements • Performance optimization • Quality of life improvements • Gameplay flow adjustments and polishPerformance & OptimizationOptimization has been a major priority. On my RTX 4060 12GB system, the game is currently averaging 150–200 FPS, reflecting the level of performance tuning and rendering optimization that has gone into the project. My goal is to ensure Urbanism runs smoothly across a wide range of hardware. Why the DelayDeveloping a game solo comes with challenges. I spent additional time tracking down difficult bugs, refining core systems, and making sure performance and stability meet the standard I want to deliver. Taking this extra time has significantly improved the overall experience. What’s NextOver the coming weeks, I will be:• Finalizing the remaining polish • Completing final testing passes • Preparing launch materials • Announcing a firm release windowThe Steam store page has been live for some time, and I truly appreciate everyone who has wishlisted the game. If you haven’t yet, adding Urbanism to your wishlist helps visibility and ensures you’ll be notified when the release date is announced. We are very close to the finish line. More updates soon.Thank you for your support.
