Design and develop your own bustling town in POLDERS, a relaxing simulation game where you navigate water's influence on urban planning.
About this game
Build historic Dutch towns in flow. The streets in POLDERS are crooked and imperfect, creating interesting spatial puzzles and picturesque villages full of personality.

In POLDERS, production chains form naturally! By giving villagers a roof over their heads, they become an active part of your city. As you build farms, mills and bakeries, villagers automatically take on the work. They will harvest grain, turn it into flour and bake bread. As you trade these goods you can use your hard earned gulden to expand your village. Soon it'll be the thriving city it once was.

Don’t just place buildings, but create the very land they stand on! Dykes and windmills allow you to reclaim territory, but the water is never far away. Treat it well, and it may guide trade ships your way or uncover hidden treasures. Neglect it, and it may flood your lands. Learn to live in harmony with the sea and your land will prosper.
POLDERS is an ode to the Netherlands, our home. Every building in the game actually exists and can be visited, or can be found in the works of Dutch master painters, like the brick houses in Vermeer’s Straatje. POLDERS shows how Netherlands came to be, and how its culture is shaped by the ongoing dance with the sea.
Enjoy creating your own piece of Dutchness!

Devlog - The Vision, Updated Visuals & Upcoming Mechanics
There’s a lot of new faces here coming from Instagram, TikTok and other platforms, so we thought it would be a nice moment to write our first proper devlog to show you how things are progressing and what we’re working on! Our aim is to write these devlogs monthly, with smaller updates in between when we have something cool to show that we would like your opinion on.Click the Follow button on Steam to see the latest updates directly in your feed! This Devlog we’ll share a bit about our vision for POLDERS and highlight some of the recent changes made to the game which are totally new if you have played the game before.THE VISIONIn recent years, we've seen a ton of excellent cozy sandbox/building games pop up. From legendary games like Townscaper and Tiny Glade, to amazing upcoming titles like Sandcastle (a literal sandbox game!).Many people applaud these games for their focus on aesthetics, their lack of 'wrong moves', timers, or challenges. But you can also see that another type of player yearns for something more. They like having a clear sense of direction, and a goal to work towards. And so, years ago, POLDERS began with a simple thought: What would our game look like if we made it for that type of player, where form follows function? As a love letter to both Townscaper and our water-wrestling Dutch ancestors, POLDERS asks you to save a recently flooded village, and make it a thriving community once again. The game has a very organic feel. You can see that in the grid with its crooked lines and uneven levels, but it also has a sense of 'where things should be'. Piece by piece, you’ll figure out how your community should look like. Where do you build windmills? Why build a dike there? How big should your docks be? Just like the Dutch did several hundreds of years ago!NEW UI We’re curious to hear your opinions on the updated UI of the game. If you’ve played the game before at an event or an early playtest, you’ll see that it has been greatly improved. Since we are aimin...Read full article on Community Announcements (Marlon)AnnouncementsOfficial
