About this game
Solve intuitive puzzles, uncover secrets, find collectibles and complete increasingly challenging levels in this Sokoban inspired game, where everything moves at the same time.
FEATURES:
Over 70+ unique puzzle levels.
A forgiving undo system.
Hints included with every level.
"Extra" challenge levels for hardcore players.
A fully fledged Level Editor.
Around 8-12h worth of puzzles!
Meta game… progression?
And lots of secrets to uncover!
IMPORTANT!!
The demo showcases the first playable area, that which has no story elements involved and is the most “mechanically simple” of them all. It might feel like there's not much judging from it, but that is far from the truth.
Will you like this game?
This game is intended for people who have already played some Sokoban or puzzle games before, it is challenging, but fair! In addition, every level gets increasingly more complex and interesting, as more interactions and secrets get uncovered by the player.
Levels are designed to teach you most mechanics, but will need some experimentation from the player. And even if you are new to Sokoban games, every level has a “nested” hint into it, a smaller level to push you towards the right direction.
Have fun! <3

A Directionless Cycle: 1 Year! (v1.2)
It's now been one year since A Directionless Cycle's release! It's been quite the hectic year, but I've managed to pull through for now. I've been hard at work with my other projects, with some seeing more progress than others. I can't wait to share what I've been cooking up with you all! The game has never been in a better state, and I'm happy to let it stay this way for a while. One of the few "major" changes that are planned currently are only rebinding, and some "extra" content, but work is nowhere close to being started. Unfortunately, there's no big event or update to A Directionless Cycle, but at least I hope you enjoy some more QoL fixes and the... Anniversary Sale!!! To celebrate the game's anniversary, the game is 50% off during this summer sale! (Get it while you can, tell your friends!!) This is currently its biggest sale yet, and will be reserved for anniversary or important events. Update Changelog Once again, full game spoilers! Added save slots to the main menu. (This was long overdue!) Up to 4 save slots, compatible with steam cloud. Settings persists per slot, in case you're playing through steam family! Using the endgame code to activate move trials now opens up the trial's menu automatically. In Spanish, first time translations will no longer have weird selectors. Fixed Spanish typos in multiple rooms. Fully translated the dev room to Spanish. Fixed an instance where dialog would still be displayed even after completing the game. Miscellaneous, very small dialog changes in some areas. Changed opacity/gradation of in-game settings menu to a darker tone. Touched up "Bonus Levels" scene's graphics. Edited bounding boxes of some settings UI elements. Optimization fixes (cache mostly) Added a misc keyboard interaction. Switched around names and added outlines on "Credits" scene for better navigation. And as always, thank you for playing, following, or just being there! ~ ugdevRead full article on Community Announcements (Lumi)AnnouncementsOfficial
A Directionless Cycle v1.1
It's been almost a year since A Directionless Cycle was released! Enjoy this big update that revises old dialog, translates the game, and reworks multiple areas of the game (visually) for fidelity! Major Changes Endgame/Fullgame spoilers ahead! Added Spanish translation! This translates UI, dialog, hints, etc. Does not apply for level names. Revised dialog for the FULL GAME. New dialog, longer texts, extra story. Ending level now has a visual addition when taking the final exit (area no longer disappears) Added two more (Darker) songs into the game, these play whenever you get your cycle ability. New, and improved settings menu! Now with custom-made checkboxes, dropdowns, sliders... As said above, this also applies to the in-game settings! Fully reworked W3-7.2, and added its hint level. You can now select elements in the credit scene without using your mouse. Added a special interaction with W2-6's hint. Added mysterious "logs" around specific levels. Edited Meem's level. New visual effects for The Core, Settings, Level Hub and Bonus Levels. Subtracted 1 move from W2-10's move trial. New secrets... (Mostly just story bits) Bugfixes Fixed a ghost hexagon/ball in W2-2.1. Changed writing for W1-2's code, hopefully it gets the message across better now. Fixed mastery effect after completing a world showing up in the wrong world after exiting back to hub. Thank you so much for everyone's support, it means a lot.Read full article on Community Announcements (Lumi)Patch NotesOfficial
Small Patches / UI QoL Update (v1.05)
Bugfixes and changes Endgame/Fullgame spoilers ahead! You can now toggle the scanline animation that plays during gameplay to be a static image instead of animating. Outerbound exits are now shown in the hub regardless if you completed the level or not, and have the "Missing Hightlighter" setting toggled on. On the extra levels scene, "Despair" now shows as completed when you complete it. While in the ending sequence, you can no longer cycle. (Unsure what caused this) I've also moved quite a lot of files around! The game should work sliiightly faster, but you shouldn't notice any difference. Thank you for all the feedback! I've made a small list of which I'll try to implement some of them into the game. The game's next update will... Completely rework a certain level that doesn't have a hint, as I feel like it doesn't do a great job on what it tries to accomplish. Hopefully add a simple rebinding system for keyboard/controller.Read full article on Community Announcements (Lumi)Patch NotesOfficial
Steam Cloud + Bugfixing (v1.04)
Cloud saving has been added to the game! Please BACK UP your save-file just in case, you can do so by copying the file located in: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Half Sun Games/A Directionless Cycle. (Windows) For steam Deck users, it should work fine? I'm unsure if it'll collide with any PC saves, but make sure to back up in case. Thank you! Also... Added a backup system! It should (hopefully) back up periodically into a backup folder, found next to the custom levels folder. This was added in case you'd like to revert your save-file, or somehow lost a recent save. Bugfixes and changes Endgame spoilers ahead! Edited some move trials to make it less tedious to complete. (Around 1-2 extra buffer moves) Exiting back to menu while in The Core now correctly sets stars to "???". Added a mastery outline to The Core. Edited in missing walls in Core: Entry (???). Fixed carving interactions ignoring valid inputs while a dead box was near the carving.Read full article on Community Announcements (Lumi)Patch NotesOfficial
