About this game
Old West, New Horrors
The year is 1897, the twilight of the American frontier. After receiving a wedding invitation from two long-deceased lovers, Adelaide Clancy braves the halls of Wraith Manor in search of a missing sheriff.
Step into the boots of a gunslinger and learn what makes this hot-headed deputy tick as she investigates a long-abandoned estate in this survival horror adventure inspired by the classics of the genre.
A Vacant Victorian Estate

Explore the overgrown gardens and derelict hallways of the elegant Wraith Manor. A love letter to the games that pioneered survival horror, the mansion plays host to all manner of puzzles, shortcuts, and hidden secrets.
Escape won't be easy. Interact with the environment to open new routes and collect treasures, and slowly unlock more of the once-beautiful home and its grounds. Learn what happened to shutter the estate decades ago and uncover every detail of the manor's gruesome history.
The Wild Frontier
You aren't alone in the manor - and the residents don't take kindly to outsiders. Fight to survive against a range of enemies. Adelaide is a gunslinger, but be careful - resources can be scarce, gunshots can attract unwanted attention, and not every problem can be solved with a bullet. She's in for more than she bargained for.
Shooting Irons
No wild west outlaw is complete without a quality firearm - and Adelaide is no different. Enjoy a selection of classic frontier weaponry - rifles, shotguns, and revolvers. You might even find some proprietary weapons from Baxter Wraith himself. April - Development Update
Howdy, Everyone! My name is Sean. I'm the developer working on Hear Tell of Hauntings. I'm astounded by the amount of support I've seen for this project already. I don't post too often on Steam, so I thought I'd give you all a little update to show you how development has been going so far. Transparency is important to me during the dev process. Fair warning: I won't reveal any major spoilers, but this post does contain some behind-the-scenes images. If you don't want to peek behind the curtain, turn back now. For those of you that aren't aware, the trailer was made when the game was in the earliest stages of development. As such (as many have noted) it doesn't contain gameplay. It was more of a proof of concept for the story and art style. Still, the reception was mostly positive! Since then, I've been hard at work developing the core of the game, and the next trailer will be nearly entirely focused on gameplay. Here are some things I've been working on:Rigging and Player ControlAdelaide's "rig" for the trailer was a rudimentary skeleton. Everything was hand-keyed. As the project has moved forward, I've since completely redone her rig with drivers, controls, and IK/FK switching. Very useful! I'm now able to properly animate her without worrying about mismatched rotations and having to re-export everything any time I change the rig.Along with this, I've refined her controller to a well-organized state machine. This makes things like movement states (walk, run, crouch) as well as environmental interaction (ladders, ledges, doors) much easier. She has a proper interaction system to help with things like item pickup, inspecting things in the environment, and really anything else that requires the player to click on something. Inventory Speaking of item pickup... a basic version of the inventory is finally functional. I went through a couple of iterations before getting to this point - first 3D, then back to 2D. While my 2D inventory worked fine, it only supported a sing...Read full article on Community Announcements (Sean Gause)
