About this game

Five generations ago in the land of Novilux tragedy struck the king and a curse seemed to fall upon the land, all seemed lost until. An heir to the throne stepped forward beset on all sides by enemies, to rebuild what was lost he needs an ancient family heirloom. The Clatiulus crystal, without the resources to spare a royal proclamation was sent throughout the land offering great rewards to any who reclaim the crystal. This is your chance, you are not a solder, or warrior, or even a thief... but instead a humble merchant and by your estimation you've got just enough gold to set up a small encampment within striking distance of the last known location of the Clatiulus. All that's missing are some friends skilled in the ways of war who are willing to split the profits, and individuals like that are all heading to the same destination...

  • Still in development

  • Higher mercenary's from 11 different classes all with different ability's and stats

    Ferulorum(V-1.1.15) Logger and Git Fail

keeping this one super short tired, stressed, beaten down right now, just doing some stuff to tie up loose ends and try to learn some things I should have a long time ago. going to also start adding a changelog of the new project to this until I make a separate page for it. Version 1.1.15 - -now have 16 types of logger message each with its own color and small descriptions for me to remember there use - -collecting all the different types of logger message types -leaving the warnings ill try fixing them again lator -just trying to fix two warnings and then ill move on from the debugger for now - --might have just got logger working -making logger - -making a logger first time - -backed up all code -added text for version number and put it in top left -moved fps to bottom left -fps was rendering under background -moved some files and broke everything on accident Chamoisee-Canvasback Version 0.0.00 -im about to give up on learning git again this is insane -I cant even get the first two steps to work properly lol - -might have just got logger working -trying to make a logger - -working on logger - Dev notes - Very excited to start this, anything could happen or be made during this project I know i'm good enough to do what I want just need to execute should be everything I need there is a new shader library tempting me I think I hold off though -first window opened and non of the includes causing errors -changed my mind sticking with sdl2 people online said sdl3 not fully ready yet -all files put in a neat folder and extracted -downloaded source code for SDL3 ttf -downloaded source code for SDL3 mixer -downloaded source code for SDL3 image -downloaded source code for SDL3 gfx -downloaded source code for SDL3 better to make the jump now I think

    Ferulorum(V-1.1.14) Steam Release

Consider buying the game being a donation lol I've included an image of the shire in this upload hopefully to convey my feeling of reaching the end of a long, unexpected journey. I was expecting the making of this game to be much faster because from the beginning it was mostly meant to be a project to get better at c++ and get over the fear of putting something on steam, and while it was never going to be technically impressive or a smash hit I just couldn't bring myself to call it done while it was even rougher than it is now (god is it rough). But as you can tell by the title the time has come, I sat with my finger over the publish button on steam for a long time and to be honest I think I basically had stage fright, but it had to be done my old bad code and poor game design decisions have made it so I'm basically backed into a corner as to improve the game would take huge code changes and probably changing the game on a fundamental level. That is not to say I hate this project I am extremely proud of making it to the finish line and the blood and sweat I put into it but I know this isn't a game people will love its just missing that core thing that a good game needs and my ability to keep focusing on just the same thing is at its absolute limits. This week I made some good progress filled out the game with some more content and variety and fixed lots of small issues, specifically every item is now in the game and the hero's now have a lot more options. I also started tweaking some of the Ui to try and make it more readable. In the coming weeks the plan is to continue working on ferulorum and fixing the last of its small issues and also to transition gradually into my next project. I've actually already started what I'm calling Chamoisee-Canvasback (just a stand in code name) by setting up the project file and downloading the library's I'm planning on using SDL3. Im also going to wait about a month to do a post mortem but the long and short of it will be that feru...

    Ferulorum(V-0.1.13) Almost Done

This week was much better than last week I made some good progress on items and the save system there's not anything too visually interesting going on so I've included some pictures of my code, art practice, and a 40k battle I watched to learn how to play. My whole army is primed trying to figure out how to paint them. For next week I'm going to attempt to finish items completely and the save system completely, I also need to fix a few visual issues for readability. And if everything is ok I think I might release the game. Project Chamoisee-I decided the first thing I'm going to work on is the logger I have started looking into it I'm going to keep this one super short hopefully next week some more fun stuff is going on really just boring stuff going on right now, so hopefully next week is good. Change Log -every item now has its name type and description set up - -a little over half way done with names and effects -adding more item info into the game - -increased size of item clipping array -added the rest of the items to the item atlus -working on balance also saving seems to be working - -might almost be done with all saving and loading just forgot hero gender so far -hero state reset on new game -working on loading hero stats -working on saving all the heroes stats - -they now load and delete too -all my level trackers now save - -replaced piercing damage bool with an int -I think I might just not use bools on the next project I keep having to turn them into ints -Working on saving level unlocks not done with hero stats yet - -more saving stuff -more balancing

    Ferulorum(V-0.1.12) Steam & Faltering

This week was my least productive week yet, a total failed week (mission failed we'll get them next time) . Constant distractions have taken their toll both in the form of people, sleep issues, general tiredness, and that fact I have now gotten into 40k. after about a year of basically dopamine fasting getting into tabletop gaming is basically heroin for my caveman brain (I've included pics of some of my boys), I haven't actually played yet just bult the models and started priming. I've avoided this for a long time because I knew I would get addicted and because games workshop has done a lot of things that made me mad but my cousin dragged me in, I also wanted to try to spend as little money as possible so I bought a starter set that was like $100 but I needed some more models to complete my army and just the 3 guys with shells were $80 dollars. So I have now been fighting the urge to by a 3d printer. It was not all bad news this week I managed to get my demo and game approved by steam and the demo is live but for the most part all I managed to do this week was work on balancing the game :( I'm also building out my library of song ideas. For next week the save system needs to be finished no matter what . Project Chamoisee-Canvasback planning has continued I think I have it clearly formed in my mind how I want it to look and feel. This week is has given me another reason to be more discerning with how far I develop my next project because it would be a lot easier to work on all this boring stuff and maintain my willpower if I new I was working on something people would love, opening my project right now is the opposite of the beginning of the project nothing new to learn or fun challenges to solve just drudge work. So it was a bad week but that water is under the bridge so hopefully next week goes better see you all next time. Change Log -working on saving all hero stats(there's like 12) - -working on saving days passed counter - -made it so when you beat the game yo...
