  "The Northern Path" Demo Release

  Ready to take your first steps along The Northern Path? On February 24, 2025, we’ll be launching a demo version of The Northern Path as part of Steam Next Fest! What can you expect in the demo? The first in-game location: unique quests and an introduction to key characters who will set the tone for your entire adventure. Sled dogs: try out the sled mechanics and see how different dogs affect its handling. Snowy landscapes and local mysticism: immerse yourself in the beauty of northern scenery and learn about the culture of the Yakutpeople. Final Release The full version of the game will be available right after the festival ends. The release version of The Northern Path will include: The continuation of the story, featuring new locations and characters; Expanded exploration and sled team progression; Controller support Support Us!   “The Northern Path”: From Conception to Reality

  Sources of Inspiration When choosing the setting for our game, we were captivated by the unique culture of the Yakut, their mythology deeply intertwined with nature, their faith in spirits and deities permeating every aspect of their lives. Here is how we conveyed it in our game and introduced the players to their culture: Spirits and gods. The game’s narrative features dangerous spirits — abasy, icchi, ghosts of the past, and powerful deities, all of them impacting the protagonist’s fate. National symbols in design. From the user interface to entire settlements, our game strives to reflect the patterns and motifs characteristic of northern Yakutia. Distinctive characters. Players will meet an olonkhosut (epic storyteller), a shaman, hunters, and other unique locals. Authentic regional fauna. The types of animals and fish you can encounter — or hunt and fish for — are based on real fauna of the Yakut region. Specialized tools. We introduced the kuyuur, a traditional instrument for lake fishing. As you progress, you’ll also discover other everyday items used by the Yakut people. Visuals of key characters. When designing the looks of our characters, we combined realistic historical details (clothing, gear) with elements of Yakut tradition. Parts of his biography formed the basis of our game’s plot: in 1821, he set out on an expedition to find the legendary Sannikov Land, which he also references in the game’s story. As you play, you’ll also uncover details about local settlements and real historical events, recording them in your personal journal. You are Nikolay Trofimov, a young officer who has traveled to the world’s edge in search of his missing father. Get ready to discover an exciting frozen realm, delve into the traditions of local peoples, and find fresh adventures and new friends. We welcome you on your Northern Path! The Soul of Winter Survive and explore: hunt, fish, gather resources, and upgrade your sled so it never fails you on the trail. Discover the culture of Yakutia’s peoples: learn about their customs, talk to the keepers of ancient lore, and feel the warmth of legends about gods and mortals, about mysteries both past and present. Feel the breath of mystery: follow the call of the unknown, the beat of the shaman’s drum, and the whispers of spirits—they might lead you to unexpected revelations. Assemble a legendary sled dog team: cheerful leader Dobor and other faithful dogs will guide you across endless snowy horizons. Venture into the night, both daunting and alluring: certain secrets only reveal themselves under a star-filled sky. Yet darkness can draw your mind too far into the spirit world... and that means trouble.
