Indie, Strategy · 2027 · More free games
Lead a unit of war medics across hand-drawn battlefields, racing to reach the wounded before it's too late. In MEDIX, keep hope alive amidst chaos as you navigate through treacherous terrain and overwhelming foes.
About this game
Fast-paced, story-driven, and easy to grasp — a focused 5-hour experience.

There are no heroes here. War changes people. It will change you.
Command a unit of war medics charged with rescuing the wounded as your army retreats before an overwhelming foe.
Tactical Decisions
Every second matters. Dispatch your medics, reach the wounded before they are overrun, and manage several collapsing frontlines at once.
Mature Storytelling
Follow Hera, a newly appointed inspector who leaves the safety of her medical research for the warzone, only to stand before a tribunal of judges who never witnessed the horrors of war.
Streamlined Strategic Gameplay
Build your camp, secure supplies, keep everything within reach, and be ready to relocate whenever the shifting frontline demands.
Meaningful Progression
Rescue the wounded to unlock new abilities and shape your own approach to the campaign.
And remember your oath. Bring them home alive.

MEDIX is a solo-developed project I've been working on for four years, with the help of players whose feedback has shaped the game along the way.

The Second Playtest Has Ended
The TactiCon Playtest has ended and signs are looking great! 808 people have enlisted, and over 360 have actually stepped onto the battlefield to help me shape the game. Over 5600 people have also wishlisted the game now! Thank you, it means a lot to me! I'm happy to see that some of the changes have worked – for example, there were fewer complaints about the hospital evacuation mechanic – while others still need a bit more clarity. One example is that players can reveal more information about the battlefield and all UI elements by holding down the mouse button anywhere outside the map. A fact that remained omitted to many of you. The feedback was very positive, and the average overall impression is even higher than last time: 4.65/5 (93% positive). That's great to see! We'll get there eventually, one improvement at a time! I'm still going through all the remaining feedback, as I felt quite overwhelmed by its amount and intensity. However, the key takeaways for me are that: ♦ the tempo is better than before, with 86.7% of respondents feeling that it was just right ♦ many of you REALLY want to see an alternative control scheme with hotkeys and traditional mouse controls ♦ some of you are also very keen to see an infinite/challenge mode without a story ♦ there is a mixed reception on whether English voiceovers would benefit the game ♦ the lack of accessibility features led to a very passionate response Some players have provided interesting suggestions regarding UI and readability, some of which might end up in the game. Thank you! Apart from implementing feedback from the playtest, I will now focus on refining some of the later levels in preparation for another (internal) playtest of the entire game. I'll be selecting a handful of passionate inspectors to help test the game and share their feedback. Join the Discord server and stick around to find out more soon! That will be all for now. Thank you for your support! Glory to the Empire! JosefRead full article on Community Announcements (X)AnnouncementsOfficial

This updated version features the same campaign scope as the first playtest – with the focus of changes being mainly on pacing, difficulty, and many quality-of-life improvements. These changes include: ♦ Redesigned Hospital evacuation command ♦ Ability to show all UI and battle indicators by clicking outside the battlefield ♦ Hospital placement hints showing where new tents can be raised ♦ Tweaked difficulty for the second level ♦ Option to skip dialogues when replaying a level ...and much more! If you played the previous test, I'd love to hear what you think about the changes. If this is your first time trying MEDIX, welcome to the unit! Join the playtest, share your thoughts, and help me make MEDIX the best game it can be. May you have courage and steady hands! Thank you for supporting the project ❤️ Josef P.S.: Join our Discord! First Playtest Now Complete!
Playtest is over – thank you! ❤️ Listen up, unit! The public playtest of MEDIX has just come to an end, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to play the game, share feedback, or even just wishlist it. Seeing people actually play MEDIX for the first time has been incredibly valuable (and honestly a bit surreal). A few numbers from the playtest ♦ ~770 players requested access ♦ ~350 of you jumped in and played ♦ 80+ detailed feedback responses (that's lot!) And the overall reception has been amazing: ♦ 4.6 / 5 average rating (Wow!) ♦ ~94% of players wishlisted the game after playing ♦ MEDIX now has over 2400 outstanding wishlists! That’s honestly way beyond what I was hoping for – thank you. What seems to be working A lot of you highlighted similar things, which is always a great sign: ♦ the core idea of saving lives instead of fighting ♦ the tension and pressure during missions ♦ the hand-drawn art style and atmosphere It’s reassuring to see that the core of the game resonates the way I hoped it would. What needs improvement At the same time, the playtest made it very clear where the game needs work: ♦ onboarding and clarity in the first minutes ♦ UI / readability of key systems ♦ making sure players fully understand what’s happening and why The good news is that these are all things I can actively improve and iterate on. What’s next I’ll now be focusing on: ♦ improving the early game onboarding ♦ making the UI and feedback more clear and readable ♦ polishing the overall experience based on your feedback There’s still a lot of work ahead, but this playtest gave me confidence that MEDIX is heading in the right direction. Thank you Seriously – thank you for playing, for your time, and for all the thoughtful feedback. If you enjoyed the game, wishlisting MEDIX on Steam helps a lot and makes a real difference. ❤️ Join the Discord server to keep chatting with me and other players. More updates soon!
