About this game

A 2D side-scrolling action RPG where every encounter feels like PvP.

You're an action-figure robot, thrown through a portal into a world built on iron and held together by force. Climb out of the scrapyard, cross the desert, and rebuild a ruined camp into your base.

From there, venture into the wastes, fight through dangerous encounters, and gather the iron needed to repair a broken world. Return to camp to repair, upgrade, and prepare your squad for the next push. Damage carries forward. Iron is limited. Bad fights matter.

Every Fight Pushes Back

Combat is fast, aggressive, and built around enemies that fight for control.

They chase you down, punish openings, launch you into the air, interrupt sloppy attacks, and pressure you back when you try to take control. Block, dodge, counter, recover, and strike before the momentum turns against you.

Fights can be quick clashes during exploration, intense duels, outnumbered fights, or squad battles. Every mistake can cost you iron when you return to camp.

As your power rises, combat escalates. Hits land harder, attacks get louder, effects intensify, and controlled fights can erupt into screen-shaking mechanical chaos.

Opponents Fight Like You

Enemies are not fixed routines with one trick to memorize. They can pressure you from the ground, chase you into the air, punish a bad attack, back off, change rhythm, or become more aggressive when damaged.

That pressure comes from the same moves and parts your robots use. The same combat rules that let you launch, counter, dash, block, and attack can be turned against you.

You are not just clearing monsters. You are reading opponents, reacting to what they do, and fighting to take control back.

Repair, Upgrade, Push Deeper

Iron is your only currency.

Between stages, return to camp to repair damaged robots, buy new moves, equip new parts, unlock stages, and increase how much your squad can carry into battle.

  • Do you spend iron on repairs?

  • Do you buy a new move?

  • Do you upgrade your parts?

  • Or do you risk one more stage with a weakened squad?

If every robot falls, the push ends. Survival is not guaranteed, and your squad is your lifeline.

Make Your Robots Fight Your Way

Your squad can be built around different combat styles.

Build for long combos and stylish air control. Build for timed counters and quick reactions. Build around armor, lifesteal, heavy hits, ability rotations, or raw pressure.

Swap in anime-inspired attacks like rising launchers, meteor kicks, and super beams. Equip parts that change how blocking, dashing, attacking, and surviving work. Replace a block with a parry. Trade a dash for a roll.

Amplify the effects, tune the impact, paint your robots, and give them names before sending them back into the fight.

    Ironweld Demo Update v2.0

There has been lots of work done since the last demo and this game is being progressively developed so what you saw last year has changed and will continue evolving.Update Notes:Visuals: The character designs have been reworked to look more "action figure" than "giant mech" and contrast has been bumped.Three Distinct Builds: In this demo, you get to play with 3 different robots:First one is focused on close range melee combat and devastating special moves.Second one uses a two handed axe and has immunity to flinch.Third one is equipped with a one handed sword and a build that favors speed. All this comes as part of new moves and parts developed and incorporated into the demo.Field Combat: You can now engage in combat even outside combat arenas. Combat Tutorial: The combat tutorial has been updated to be active and streamlined, but not everything is explained through it. You will encounter tutorial popups across the levels that share useful tips. Later there will be an option to re-visit them.Stage Visuals (Work in Progress): This is the weakest point in the game but the game theme is meant to look empty so we are experimenting with different techniques to reach to something appealing.Game Loop Update (Work In Progress): You get to play with 3 robots, if you lose all of them, it is game over, This will be further developed in the next update.

    Ironweld Demo Update v1.0

⚠️Next Update: Will include fixes for known issues and giving players the freedom to experiment with different moves and parts. The first Ironweld demo was released around 5 months back. Since then there have been many changes applied to the main source code (+100 commits) which deserves to be pushed to the demo for the public to try it out.Update Notes:Character Visuals: Shifted from using normal maps for realism to a cel-shaded style.Enemy AI: Foes range from idle/defensive to fast/aggressive and those focused purely on eliminating the player.Telegraphing Attacks: Enemies' sprite flash white before attacking. But not always.Combat Overhaul: The new demo introduces a deep combat loop. Build EN with combos for Special Attacks. Simultaneously, all attacks build Power, which enables new Moves. Spend your Power ⚡ strategically on Super Moves or a high-cost Hyper Move.Temperature: Your mech heats up, and if you exceed the limit, you will damage yourself, you can cooldown by doing nothing, or running, or countering. Attacking too fast doesn't mean better. You have to feel the rhythm.Input Buffering: During combat, your input gets buffered a bit so it will feel more responsive than before.Utility Moves: In the demo, we showcase one of the early utility move, which is a Heal, that restores your HP.QoL Updates: Including key binding, FPS limit, resolution, vsyncKnown Issues:Onboarding can be skipped, which might lead to player not knowing combat keybindings. Additionally, the combat tutorial is a bit lacking.Standing on checkpoints doesn't show button prompt.Unable to select the other 2 characters, the character UI selection doesn't highlight which character is selected. There is a game breaking bug that needs to be fixed. 😅Unable to select other languages.
