Version 1.0.2
Version 1.0.2 UpdateThis version addresses the following bug fixes/updatesIn previous version, when "Show Collectibles On Map" was enabled all collectibles ended up being hidden after viewing the mapIn the last update, I reversed the Scarecrow difficulty speeds (from Easy = slow to Easy = fast) to make it faster to banish the Scarecrows; but this led to far more frequent encounters with the Scarecrows. Rather, now the Scarecrows move at the same speed, regardless of difficulty, but after a Scarecrow has been banished, it now has a delay of 1-3 minutes (dependent on difficulty) before it will resume stalking the player. In previous version, enemies were not being dispelled if a Vinetacle attack was initiatedFixed bug where Orange Pumpkin Score was not being savedFixed bug where Pumpkin lights were not displaying when loading a saved gameFixed bug causing collectible pickup SFX not to play in levels 3-5Switched gamepad controller inputs for Sprinting/No Clipping (L2 / R2) to mirror the corresponding Pumpkin UI images' locations in the HUDFixed bug preventing the Navigating Blind and Slaughterer of the Innocent achievements from being grantedUpdated Jack-O-Demon attack so that it follows player, rather than focusing on where the player was at the start of the attack (sorry, guys..but it's the final boss...can't make it THAT easy, lol).Update to the Update:Identified a bug with the character teleportation system after pushing the update live, that bug has now been corrected.Update to the Update's Update:Identified and corrected another bug where if the pumpkin timer has timed out when the next level is begun, all pumpkins were automatically destroying themselves.Read full article on Community Announcements (music)AnnouncementsOfficial
Full game v1.0.1 and Demo v0.1.3 Updates
This update includes various bug fixes and QoL updates, including:The controller bugs previously occurring on the PC and Mac versions have been fixed. The previous bug on the PC version required disconnecting and reconnecting the controller before input could be received, the Mac version bug made the controller not work at all. Both versions now fully work with controller input. The Demo version is now compliant with Unity's recent security patch update.Improved NPC processing performancePer player feedback, the Scarecrow's speed/difficulty settings have been reversed; so now the scarecrow moves faster on easier settings, and slower on faster settings. This results in more frequent confrontations with the Scarecrows, but makes it faster (and easier) to repel them.Fixed some audio/music bugs found with various enemy attacks throughout the game.Made some fine tuning/adjustments to the final boss battle, including increasing the player's default speed to sprinting once the battle has commenced.New Hint Cards added for the Dust Devil and Ophanim.Improved randomization of Collectible Object locationsAdded mouth lip-synch animations to the Black-Eyed ChildrenVarious save/load bugsVarious UI/other gameplay improvements and fixesRead full article on Community Announcements (music)AnnouncementsOfficial
MAiZE Full Game Release!!!
The full version of MAiZE is now available for purchase! Two minor issues to note regarding controller compatibility:There is an issue with the current Unity Input System and Mac OS Sequoia where game controller drivers are not being recognized. I'm working on figuring out a workaround for this issue and will provide a patch update as soon as I can.On the PC version when you first launch the application with a game controller connected, the application will not at first recognize the controller. But if you disconnect/reconnect the controller from the main menu, after a few seconds it will connect and work fine from there out.I'm working on resolving both of these issues, as well as some performance issues with the later levels, but did not want to let these issues hold back the release of the game, so I will get them resolved and release patch updates as soon as I can!Read full article on Community Announcements (music)Patch NotesOfficial
MAiZE (Demo) Version 0.1.2 Update
This Version 0.1.2 update includes several minor QOL UI updates, as well as the following bug fixes:Fixed bug where if Hints option is enabled the player doesn't get paused when being attacked by a hatching PumpkimpNumerous Gamepad Controller Bugs Including:All buzzes were initiating as long buzzes instead of shortInput Sensitivity bug where the default Game Controller sensitivity setting kept reverting to the defaultGame not registering if the controller was disconnected mid-gameNew features include:If using a gamepad, the controller now buzzes in increasing intervals and intensity the closer you are to the scarecrowNew tutorial card at the start of the game explains the function of the Pumpkin Timer (bottom left corner of the UI)Note Regarding the Mac Version and Gamepad Controllers:There is a known issue if you are using Mac OS 15 (Sequoia) and a third party X-Box controller (such as 360Controller and xone-macos) that Unity is currently unable to map for these controllers as Apple removed driver support for third party controllers. Unity will have a workaround for this in their next Input System version, but for the moment I am focusing my attention on finishing the full version of the game. Once I have finished the full version, I will look into temporary workaround options until Unity releases their next Input System update.Read full article on Community Announcements (music)
