About this game
LEVEL UP
Recruit one of 3 classes of hero to enter the mountain and collect Foepower from the growing horde of corrupted monsters. Receive dynamic level-up choices, hunt for powerful equipment, and bump into unique encounters offering a fresh and fun level up experience for each playthrough.
Your recruited hero runs go from Level 1 to Level 30, designed for quick in-and-out gameplay. Each round of auto-battling exploration takes 30-90 seconds, with the total run requiring less than 30 minutes. Your run to level 30 is timed during active combat, offering a speed run competition versus your own best performances.
BRINKMANSHIP! (How far will YOU push it?)
You'll have to balance how careful or aggressive to be, as you balance harvesting Foepower, experience, and loot, versus escaping increasingly difficult monsters and the effects of the mountain's corruption. As you gather more Foepower, you can invest in troupe-wide Foepower traits to strengthen all your heroes.
TEST YOUR CHAMPIONS
At level 30, your heroes compete to become an arena champion. In the arena, you can battle increasingly strong bosses, and gain additional arena level up powers.
You can also test your newest hero versus your best hero of that class (Warrior, Mage, or Inquisitor). Its a king of the hill match - the best wins and can loot an item from the fallen.
Your arena champions can also train new recruits allowing for a type of multi-classing hero, enabling new gameplay variations.

Patch 1.0.13 - Faster in the light!
After seeing the depths that the deep dark corruption enjoyers can reach, a new school of thought has emerged... What about the benefits of standing Resolute, illuminating your path, and avoiding corruption? These techniques have been taught to newly arriving heroes, and the starting Foepower experience is speeding up a bit! Updates Corruption Resolve has been introduced to the game, and your heroes start each round Focused. While Focused, they gain a 20%(+) bonus to Foepower extraction and 20%(x) increased chance to win the roll on both regular and boss loot drops. As the hero's Corruption Resolve is reduced, the hero becomes Uneasy, then Concerned, and the benefits lessen until they are removed when corruption strikes begin. Corruption's build speed can now be modified by various things, causing your hero's corruption to speed up or slow down. Any corruption build speed change is displayed in the corruption bar. Build your heroes to use this as you will, depending on your goal for their run. Resolute has been added as a new level up modifier, causing corruption to build up 10%(x) slower, and increasing First Wind effects (meaning both its faster charge time bonus and its duration) by 33%(+), per rank, max 3 ranks. The Resolute modifier is weighted uncommon, and Angler and Incite have been made lightly uncommon to cause the rest of the modifiers to be roughly the same weighting as before its addition. First Wind has been increased to 15%(x) faster charge times, up from 12%(x). Its base duration has increased to 30s, up from 24s. Foepower trait Long Winded increases duration by 10s per level, up from 8s. Maxed out base First Wind duration is now 60s, and grows to 120s of 30% faster charge times with 3x Resolute. Fate Shaper - now each fated mod reduces corruption resistance by 1% (down from 2%), but also increases the speed of corruption buildup by 1%. If you ever wondered what 100% faster corruption growth looks like, bring a big stack of foepower and find out! Fat...Read full article on Community Announcements (haku)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 1.0.12 - Readability & Controller Play Updates
Now with improved game experience when playing on small screens or larger screens with controller - from, say, a couch! Enhancements: Corruption Damage - show X% RESISTED under the corruption damage your hero takes, so you can better compare and understand your mitigation versus the raw corruption strike damage shown up top. Note this is probably the only place in game currently that you can see that Inquisitor specifically gets 16% innate corruption resistance! Leaderboards - add Friends filter so you can dunk on your Steam Friends with a screenshot showing your superiority (or congratulate them for their progress!) Leaderboards - add ability to scroll up in case you really need to peek at who's on top Fate Shaper - now says Cancel at top right to warn player they'll be cancelling if they haven't Confirmed their fate New Player Experience - now shows hints to Find 50 Foepower and Flee to save or invest it in town before being able to find the Mountain in Explore UI Updates: Most action buttons are now a bit larger and easier to click (sounds easy, was a LOT of shimmying!) Action buttons no longer YELL at you (instead, Title Case) - except FLEE! Status Effects (Frozen, First Wind, Metallite, etc) have a larger, more readable name and duration/number of stacks Modifier tiles have a larger, more-readable number of ranks Character level text is much larger and now inside the experience bar All tooltips are larger and more readable Invest Foepower screen has larger trait descriptions Gear Tray equipment is bumped up 1 point, still a bit small but better than before! React READY or Cooldown remaining (e.g. 21.0s) now larger and more readable Round Footer speed run and deepest wave figures are much larger and more readable Controller / keyboard navigation reviewed throughout and minor improvements made Example controller update - Round - fix keyboard/controller nav for Show Tutorial in Explore, and allow movement up to change Art Pack Example controller update - Arena - f...Read full article on Community Announcements (haku)AnnouncementsOfficial
Foepower - NEW HUMAN ART PACK
Prefer human art? Now Foepower has a 100% human, 0% AI art pack - the Aspiring Artist pack. Its drawn in a simple chalk styling by my daughter. I dig the styling and hope you all enjoy too! It's included in the base game for everyone. Welcome to the family ;) Updates: Auto Equip Loot - for more chill gameplay and per popular request, Loot now has a progress bar that counts up and auto-equips the offered item when it fills up. You can still Equip as usual right away. The timer is 6 seconds if you have no item currently equipped in that slot, and 8 seconds if you have an item to compare - so you can see the upgrade. Feels really nice on fresh heroes once you are rolling through! Art Pack - Settings - added ability to change to and save your desired art pack ("Foepower Default" or "Aspiring Artist"!) Art Pack - Round - top left added a real-time Art toggle, so you can check out the art style anytime Time to max level timer now internally tracks its millisecond progress, so no time is "lost" when the game pauses UI update in Leaderboards and the Achievements statistics overview screens - show class icons for each hero type and use a bit of coloring Update - minor patch 1.0.11.1 put live March 24: Improved Arena Training flow - you can now continue to your next match immediately without returning to town and you can now learn any Ability encountered during the entirety of your three training matches (as intended!) These changes are all live now in version 1.0.11. Enjoy!Read full article on Community Announcements (haku)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 1.0.10 - "Loot Left Behind" Left Behind!
Latest foepowered updates from player feedback: At popular request, "Loot Left Behind" is no more. Now, in its place, you are tempted to RISK IT if you are fleeing and notice something shiny. Is it loot? Is it a secret new uber-rare treasure mob? Is it worth the risk of the next wave? You decide! Corruption strikes' damage range is tightened so the next wave's damage amount is a bit more predictable (note this raised the minimum strike amount as a tradeoff with the consistency, average damage balanced to be similar) Slight rebalance of Wandering Mino's damage profile - instead of two large upfront hits, they are staggered a bit - still a deadly foe! Reduced critical damage multiplier of foe heroes to 150% (from the normal 200%) as they have strong base abilities vs a player's relatively small hp pool Reduce weighting of Wave Surfer and Focuser modifiers as they are more niche build choices, now roughly 25% as likely to appear (hint: use Fate Shaper if you want to be sure to see them!) Declining Eldrin's offer now rewards you EXP for your 'wisdom' In Level Up choices, when taking a modifier that will max out your existing stack, the offered modifier ranks will flash between green and yellow to help alert you to that optimization (even if the offer is only 1 rank) Level up choices will not offer the same Ability as the last two offered for that hero. This is to help you more quickly find the Ability you are seeking and avoid Variant Path rerolls into the same choice. This resets each "round", so going back to town resets your chance to get the same Ability if you need to take that Rapido x3 instead. Bribing the nobles to take on the then-current Arena boss makes sure the newly spawned Arena boss is not one of the last three bosses encountered Performance improvement - streamlined calculations done each wave spawn to reduce chance of minor framerate drop there Bug Fixes: Fleeing from the High Inquisitor's Portal is now guaranteed to succeed Darkheart Boots now actually...Read full article on Community Announcements (haku)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 1.0.9 - earliest feedback update!
Its been so fun seeing folks digging in and enjoying Foepower! Latest updates from earliest production feedback: Add ability to Un-Flee in Adventure mode - its in the Escape->Pause screen if you change your mind! Wanderer events (like Tanook) now start appearing at wave 18, up just slightly from 16, to give you a couple more waves of foepower gain before potentially encountering them Keyboard nav - mapped WASD to match functionality of Arrow keys, better enabling left hand play with Space for Enter Treasure Hunter - added indicator at top right of loot window to show which reroll of treasure hunter hit (I, II, III) Clarify in Inquisitor's react tooltip that their Lightburst React cooldown is reduced by healing from Heal Abilities (not from other sources of healing like Leech) Expedited Insight text corrected to correctly show it gives 2%(+) to multi rank level up options, rather than 1%(+) Slightly reduced the chance for foe heroes to obtain powerful mods (like Healstone or Venomflow) After a hero's death, the free Pity Bribe option for juiced up new heroes is focused by default in the Lodge Tutorial timers set slightly longer for reading (20s total vs 18s prior), but now you can click the color progress bars to skip forward immediately Bug fix - Fleeing - the guaranteed 100% flee in Explore and immediately before Bosses was not letting you flee IF you rolled a perfect 100 flee roll. Now, even if you have perfect luck, you can get away as expected! Bug fix - foe heroes should not be able to get both Ascension and Descension anymore (yikes when they did!) Bug fix - the loot window now shows an additional and important digit of precision for the base charge speed of your current weapon for comparison (2.3s vs 2s) Bug fix - if you somehow obtain all available level up modifiers, level up windows and merchant offers will be suppressed and your character can simply continue (you can even take out your aggression on said merchant) Bug fix - in certain situations for the d...Read full article on Community Announcements (haku)
