About this game
Uncanyon is a puzzle-first adventure that drops you into a once-abundant but now-forgotten world, tucked into the seam between unparallel realities. You’ll play as Sonia, a young woman who tumbles into this new and fantastical world, where hills breathe, trees change color, and the land itself never stands still. As she wanders deeper, she begins to uncover the secrets and greater mysteries of Uncanyon, and her own unlikely destiny as its prophesied hero.
Uncover Puzzle-filled Ruins
Uncanyon is built for adventurers who think in layers and solutions. To guard their secrets and treasures, its crumbling temples and overgrown ruins are laced with traps and riddles designed to turn away all but the chosen few. As the Finder of Lost Things, you'll gather curious records, ancient equipment, and unique devices made from magical fragmentstone, piecing together not just solutions to puzzles, but the forgotten truths of a land that guards its history and secrets closely.
Unveil Unparallel Realities
Uncanyon exists at the intersection of unparallel realities, and somehow you hold the ability to morph the environment between them. By seeking out and awakening fragmentstone devices scattered across the land, you can bend the world to your will: reshaping the puzzle beneath your feet, banishing lurking dangers, shifting stone and shadow, or unveiling paths that were always there, invisible, waiting in a reality you hadn't yet discovered.
Unravel Many Secrets
Your journey winds through five bio-diverse, semi-open regions, each brimming with hidden wonders — whispered rumors, half-buried riddles, and secret challenges meant only for those with a sharp eye and a stubborn curiosity. Some mysteries stretch far beyond the main tale, tangled and cryptic enough that unraveling them may take a puzzle-minded adventurer a truly unexpected amount of time. For those who chase a mystery long after the credits roll, Uncanyon promises to keep its deepest secrets waiting.

Welcome to... Uncanyon!
Hi everyone, it's great to be back as it’s been a few years since we shared Maquette with you. While that game was about the shifting scale of perspective and memories, we’ve spent our time since then thinking about a different kind of shift: the shift of unparallel realities.Last week, we were excited to give you a first glimpse of what we’ve been building. This is Uncanyon:A new take on classic adventuresUncanyon is a puzzle-first adventure set in a forgotten world that emerged and once flourished in the folds of converging unparallel universes. You play as Sonia, a stranger to this land. As she explores, she’ll start piecing together not just how to survive Uncanyon, but why it needs her (whether she’s ready for that role or not). While Sonia is trying to save the world in classic adventure tradition, her story is also a personal one. Although she arrived in Uncanyon looking for excitement, as Sonia becomes aware of her fate and her role, the weight of being a hero expected to save the world starts to weigh heavily on her. For that, our team looked to our own lives, drawing from the pressure of family expectations and the invisible obligations social media places on so many of us. She’s someone handling these pressures in real time, the same way we all are, and that shared uncertainty is something we leaned into throughout the writing and world design.Unveil puzzle-filled ruinsIn Maquette’s recursive world, we found a soft spot for spaces that reward close observation. Uncanyon’s temples and ruins carry that forward, but with sharper teeth. These places were built to keep people out – filled with traps, locks, and puzzles designed by whoever came before to guard what’s inside. You’ll work through them using tools and discoveries you pick up along the way, building up a small but versatile kit of solutions as you go. We wanted to take classic “dungeon puzzles” and elevate them from softball distractions to intricate, mechanical traps and vaults with lots of “aha” m...Read full article on Community Announcements (AI_Austin)
