About the Game
Welcome to Zeverland! Yep, another zombie game. But here, common sense is your best weapon. Just like in real life, you can interact with and modify anything you find. Dismantle a gas station toilet, attach a Zed head to a baseball bet to make a deadly weapon, or weld a bed into an RV so you can drive your house wherever you want.
Worried about getting bitten? Don't worry, undead doesn't mean no life! Don't want to get your hands dirty? Gather NPCs from across the world to help you build your post-apocalypse shelter from the ground up.
Once you've solved the problem of survival, you can choose to wander alone, or team up with others to think big: rebuild bridges, create a vaccine, build a skyscraper, and light up the world once more!
Someone hit the pause button on civilization...
Everything is gone. Or is it?
This isn't the aftermath of the apocalypse. This is the first minute of it.
Sure, the water's still running... if you fancy a night of gut-wrenching agony.
Your neighbor's lights are on, but they've got a bit of a zombie problem.
And it's a commuter's dream right now because traffic laws are dead!
Don’t think of this as the end of the world. Think of it as the first, chaotic day of a new one.
Common sense. It's the new superpower.
To survive, don't overthink it.
Thirsty? Bust open a vending machine.
Hungry? Raid someone's pantry.
Bitten? Welcome to the undead club.
No complex rules. No punishing mechanics. Just do what makes sense to you.
Common Sense + Imagination = Survival.
Get creative! Any junk you have is ready to be fused into a powerful new weapon. The Zeds got an upgrade in the muscles and brains department—a pointy stick just isn't going to cut it anymore.
Duct tape a Clothes Iron to a Tennis Racket and you'll straighten out Zeds in no time. Advantage: you!
Or bind a Metal Bat to a DSLR Camera to paralyze Zeds with a single electrifying swing—the camera never lies!
Turn a Zed head into your new favorite tool.
Whether you want a mobile base with an oven, couch, and drumkit, or a fire-belching post-apocalyptic Zed steamroller... if you can imagine it, you can hit the road in it!
It's a big world out there... But you'll find your place.
Enter a huge open world, with mountains, lakes, desolate towns, and abandoned farms, spread over 5000 km² of seamless wasteland for you to explore any way you like!
But don't worry, you can find a safe haven of your very own.
Picture it: your own apocalypse shelter, built up piece by piece, with soft bedding, water purifiers, and gardens teeming with plants. Build a mighty fortress, or make it look like your favorite fast food joint—it. It's up to you.
Of course, if the work's getting a little too much, you can always venture out into the world and recruit NPCs to do your bidding. Chefs, tailors, construction workers, security... You say jump, and they'll say "how high?". Wherever you go, your base will be the beacon that lights the way home...
Then there's the other survivors...
Living in this shattered world is brutal. The only comfort? Everyone else is suffering just as much.
Meanwhile, other survivors just like you are trying to rebuild and reconnect in a broken world...
See that bridge? Someone built that. It just saved your skin.
A call comes over the radio, and an old frequency comes back online—that means someone's just managed to fix up their base station.
Maybe you should leave them a little something to help them on their way?
Shape the world's future together!
Team up with thousands of other players to build a brave new world and work toward different endings.
Will you rebuild the great infrastructure projects of the past—maybe even the "Miracle Purifier"?
Create a vaccine, or go even further and push the boundaries of human evolution.
Abandon the surface and take mankind underground.
Or simply rely on old-fashioned elbow grease to plant trees and heal the land.
No pressure, but every single thing you do might just rewrite the future.
Like we've said before, civilization just collapsed, and you're here at the beginning of everything. Good luck, pal!

Fireside Chat #03: Demo Coming in Q1 2027!
To all Zeverland Survivors:Hey survivors,A few weeks ago, we took a trip to Gamescom and talked about Zeverland with a lot of fellow developers and press. People were really into the cartoon art style, the freedom, the interactions, and the turn-into-a-zombie mechanic. They also gave us plenty of suggestions, which we're still chewing on.The community has grown a lot lately, so welcome to everyone who just joined! In this Fireside Chat, we'll answer the questions we get asked most, and share some fun things we've been building.1. When's the next test? Can we get a demo first?@拉露: Conservative estimate: test 3 around Chinese New Year next year... better to plan for the worst.@Kroh: Considering the rework, no marketing, no demo, no EA... my guess is the full release lands no earlier than late 2027.@Clear Black: I played V Rising from its first EA build all the way to 1.0, and it basically became a different game. Zeverland could totally go EA soon and build it up bit by bit.\:We hear you, loud and clear! Going to Gamescom and joining the Steam Survival Crafting Fest were both about getting Zeverland in front of more survivors and onto more wishlists. We'll keep showing up at events like these to bring more people in.Now for the big one: the current plan is to open a Demo in Q1 2027. The exact timing may shift a little with development, but we'd love to have you all come play!2. About servers@Ethaniel: I run my own servers. Does the game support dedicated servers? How many players per server?@save: The foundation is solid, but if this turns into an MMO I'm out... MMOs always come down to the same dailies, microtransactions and battle pass loop.@genekill22: What happens to your base if you stop playing or take a break for a while?\:There's still a lot of discussion out there about what kind of servers Zeverland will have, so let's say it again: Zeverland will have both official servers and private servers.Private servers are hosted by us. Start one up, invite your frien...Read full article on Community Announcements (Zeverland)AnnouncementsOfficial
Fireside Chat #02: A Home on Wheels, Bound for Tomorrow
To all Zeverland Survivors:It's been a month since the PT2 ended. How have you been holding up in the real world? We've noticed some of you scrolling through similar games on Steam looking for a stand-in, and checking in daily with "Another day without playtest". Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts.Since sharing the Roadmap last time, we've spent this past month racking our brains over the design of every module. But the blueprint of this world has never been drawn by us alone — it's all of you, adding to it stroke by stroke.Today, let's toss another log on the fire and take a look at what we've done for this world over the past month.Q&A on Development Progress1. The question everyone keeps asking: when is the next playtest / EA?@Licketysplit: After the test ended I went through every zombie game out there — none of them scratched the itch. We need a little hope: a date for the next playtest, or EA access.@ThinningThreat: I'd pay full price right now and keep playing through every update.@姜恶霸: There's an ancient legend that says a playtest is coming in November.\:To be honest, we've been stuck on a dilemma: one more week of testing means one less week of building content. Let everyone play more, or get the game to what it's meant to be sooner? We've now made our choice: we're heading into a long stretch of heads-down development. We're preparing a whole lot of content, with one single goal: the next time you enter Zeverland, you'll find this apocalyptic world way, way, WAY more fun!The exact date of our next meetup hasn't been finalized yet. Please keep an eye on our announcements. And once again (and again, and again), thank you all!2. Details on server structure@wyyyy: So no official servers at launch? All third-party would be kind of boring.@睡不醒的樱发发啊: So will self-hosted servers be P2P, servers provided officially, or rented official servers?@但丁: P2P is terrible... getting four people together whose schedules AND connections are all stable is way too...Read full article on Community Announcements (Zeverland)AnnouncementsOfficial

Zeverland 2nd Pre-Alpha Tech Test Server Shutdown Announcement
Hi survivors,Zeverland 2nd Pre-Alpha Tech Test will officially conclude on July 2, 10:00 AM (UTC+8), when the servers will go dark.Seven days ago, you opened your eyes in the red mist, standing on this wasteland with nothing to your name.In seven days, you forged your first hatchet, raised the first wall of a home, and recruited your first companion — one who'd raid your fridge, doze off wherever they pleased, yet still stand beside you to hold the line against a whole horde. We watched some of you grind till dawn, just for a roof that could keep out the wind and rain;some walk over ten kilometers alone, only to find a single teammate;some load everything they owned onto a truck and build a home that rolled across the wasteland;some feed and make beds for the companions they'd taken in, one by one, tending to them like their own family;and over these days, you brought human life and warmth back to this wasteland. And we saw the things that never should have happened —waking up to find your home stripped bare, your chests left in splinters; frozen to a single frame in the big city, unable to see your own hand in the fog.None of this is what you should have had to bear. The fault is ours — our work left unfinished.Every word of praise, every complaint, even every "devs, get in here and answer for this" — we wrote it all down, line by line.PVE protection, performance, new features like vehicle customization — for every one of them, we already have a fix lined up for the next build.Every pitfall you stumbled into is helping us build this world on firmer ground. The next time you wake, the red mist will have thinned a little, the roads will run a little smoother, the lights will come on, and home will be a little safer. And the sweat you shed here tonight, and this one night you can't bring yourself to leave — all of it will become part of a better Zeverland. We'll keep the records of this playtest safe. When we meet again, we hope you'll still be the first to reach this wast...Read full article on Community Announcements (Zeverland)AnnouncementsOfficial
RV Design Showcase! Dev Log #6
Hi survivors! You've all probably had a good run through everything in this test build by now, right? The next update is all about RVs. Before we go live, we want to see what you've already been making —Screenshot your apocalypse RV in Zeverland, fill out the form, and you're in the draw. 10 winners, direct pass to the official launch.👉 https://forms.gle/JxW8iTSDJTgfrEiS8No judging, no scoring — just luck, and the guts to show off what you built. The test is nearing its end, and your ideas keep getting richer. This issue we picked a batch of suggestions to chat about.Player FeedbackQ1: Can you add a horde base-defense mode?A: Yes. That tense all-nighter of defending your home against a horde. We'll make it happen.Q2: Instruments losing durability while playing is such a waste (losing it when smacking zombies is understandable).A: We'll optimize this. Playing a nice tune shouldn't smash your instrument.Q3: Please enrich map exploration — add high-risk, high-reward spots like large military bunkers, abandoned airports, and coastal docks.A: Sure. We'll add high-risk, high-value points across the map.Q4: Holding E to demolish blocks takes too long — can it be shorter, or get a dedicated demolition tool?A: Sure. We'll optimize demolition efficiency so you can tear things down nice and quick.Q5: Can supermarket shelves and similar scenes get decorative loot models, plus signs of being ransacked, for more apocalyptic realism?A: We'll add that — still depends on scheduling — to deepen the wasteland immersion.Q6: Please differentiate crouch / stand / run footstep sounds (quieter when crouching, louder when running).A: This one… we actually already did it… We'll check whether there's a bug somewhere.Q7: The game defaults to the NA server — I'd like it to default to my local region.A: Already fixed. A ping bug was causing inaccurate matching. Now it'll stick closer to your local region.Q8: Can the delete-character confirmation screen show the character's name? To prevent acciden...Read full article on Community Announcements (Zeverland)
