About this game
Rekule is a visual language-learning app where images are at the center of the experience. The goal is to help you build direct associations between words and meaning, without always relying on translation from your native language.
Through a combination of images, writing exercises, repetition, and short tests, Rekule gives you an active way to practice new vocabulary. First, you see each word together with a clear image and write it from the screen. Later, you try to recall and write the word again using only the image as your clue.
This approach helps you connect the language directly to what you see, making the learning process feel more natural and flexible.
Rekule is organized into chapters, with each section introducing new words and giving you opportunities to review them before moving on. The app focuses on clear progression, active practice, and a simple structure that can be used as part of daily language learning.
At launch, Rekule supports English, Swedish, Turkish, and Dutch, with more languages planned for future updates.
Support : Card Titles
We added the option for the user to add card titles above the cards. This is to help the user to get accustomed to the meaning of the card in a familiar language instead of forcing the user to make the meaning trough context.
Support : Keyboard assistance
The application is made with the idea that everyone has access to your basic Latin alphabet. However there are languages which have additional letters which you might not find on your keyboard. For that reason we added the option on your bottom right corner of the window to insert the key you are missing. Either by using your mouse or using the buttons as indicated (Left side of the keyboard)
Feature : SRS
The application is made with the idea of using Spaced Repetition System to learn a new language. We have chosen to increment the waiting time by times 3 every time you correctly answer the question.

Behind the curtainsIn this update most work went into how the application works. The early problems were hardcoded in the application and changed them to be compiled with the new functions. With that I also had to change the administrative code of each problem but after some testing it does not look like there will be any progression loss.Partial Content UpdateWe expanded the prepositions with "In front of" and "behind" In every supported language in the application. Learning progressionBefore this update, determiners and articles were presented with the word. Some early feedback suggested to separate those as well, I was on the fence on pushing that change through. However after using the application myself for some time I think that is a wise choice and now the "determiner" and "nouns" are presented separately first. This will slow down the progression a bit, but I think its worth itGender IndicatorsThere are languages which assigned genders to their nouns. This influences which words/endings are used with that noun. So now when Learning for the first time (or completing a problem) and if the language has such a trait, You will see the associated gender. New Language (German)Due to some changes made behind the curtain I am able to release language's partially. The "Foundation" items are fully released, but not the sentences. The August update
The very first update for Rekule ! Partial content update In this update we started adding new content for the users. This is just the beginning of the next level and will be expanded. The focus on this level is positioning. Pronoun colouring The 2nd person pronoun, "You" now has a colour different from 3rd person. Capitalization The first letter of the "foundation" words up to sentences are no longer forcing a capital letter. When learning and testing it will let you know with a slight discolouration that its not a Capital letter. However when working with what we consider sentences (Has a pronoun, verb and adjectives/nouns) It will penalize for not using Capital letter for the first letter. Learning Content Priority When learning new items it will fetch the "foundation" items first before it starts giving you sentences. Practice Content Priority The previous version was just fetching the first 36 items and shuffle them. This version tracks how many times the user has practiced an item and fetch those which has the lowest number of practices. This is a temporary solution, I have something more comprehensive in mind but requires some additions to make that happen. Lost progress I made a mistake with the 3rd person neuter pronoun in the background. The fix caused the progression of the 3rd person neuter related foundation stuff to be reset to the beginning. All sentences which were already unlocked are save, but you have to redo the basic "foundation" stuff for that one. Summary New content ( Preposition : on, under ; Noun : table, chair) Words and Phrases 2nd Person Pronoun has a lighter colour than 3rd Person Pronoun First letter of "foundation" items no longer forces capitalization Learning will prioritize "foundation" items Practice will go trough all the unlocked items.... eventually 3rd Person Neuter "foundation" items lost progress has to be redone.
