Set in 2009 Thailand, this is a hardboiled, fully voiced visual novel paying deep homage to classic Hong Kong noir cinema. While serving as a prequel to Red Spider (set in 2014 Hong Kong), it is a standalone story that can be enjoyed completely on its own without prior knowledge of the series.

The game features a two-chapter structure: the "Spider Chapter," starring former assassin Yvet, and the "Cuckoo Chapter," starring North Korean agent Jade. Following the shooting of Kwok (Ben) in Thailand, Yvet seeks the truth behind her associate's death while Jade tracks down North Korean defectors. By experiencing both perspectives, unseen motives and hidden events align to reveal the complete picture of the incident.

Overhauling previous presentation methods, traditional character sprites have been replaced entirely with full-scene CG stills. Over 320 meticulously drawn cuts directly convey the expressions and tension of characters under extreme conditions, visually emphasizing the weight of every choice and dialogue.

Original music by Yasunori Shiono (Lufia series) and Takao Nakajima (Puzzle & Dragons) beautifully colors a world drenched in blood and gunsmoke.

Planned, written, coded, and directed entirely by a single developer, this cinematic visual novel pushes the limits of the medium—featuring full voice acting by 17 cast members and music from legendary composers.

This title is the 5th installment in the Hong Kong noir fully voiced visual novel series Red Spider. Featuring 17 voice actors with a total of 2.2 hours of recorded voice acting. The entire main story and all endings are available to play for free.

Story

2009. Ben, an officer of the Red Flower Society, an underworld mob that operated in Kowloon, Hong Kong is found murdered in Thailand.

Yeung Kwun, the head of the Red Flower Society, asks Yvet, who used to belong to the assassination organization “the web”, to investigate the case.

In Thailand, Romrowan, the head of Newmoon, a Thai crime syndicate, is wanted for Ben's murder.

Yvet, an old acquaintance of Ramrowan, stands up to exonerate him.

2009. Miok, an agent with North Korea's Ministry of State Security, is tracking a North Korean defector in Thailand.

She discovers that her target is being transported by a Hong Kong broker and follows him, only to have him murdered before her eyes.

Myok and her former subordinate, Yui, who has now defected and is working in Thailand's entertainment district as Kathooey, track down the broker's cell phone.
