Navigate the intricate subgrid puzzles in Subvirtual, an adventure game from The Zivraye Group where your goal is to clear each level by sorting connections and avoiding bombs. Enjoy free-to-play casual challenges that keep you engaged with every cube you manage to place safely.

About this game

Story

Follow along with Zivraye on an adventure through the subvirtual! The story of Subvirtual is analogous to the creation process, such that closing the Infinity Chest at the end is akin to completing the MagiRouter -a device used to communicate from the Zivraye universe to many many others. Zivraye's sojourn will take you across all 7 background arenas!

Gameplay

Subvirtual consists of cubes that form a subgrid. Cubes can be dug up (uncovered) using the VR shovel hand and flagged using the VR flag hand. Cubes uncovered, which are not bombs, will show either a number or will be blank. Blanks mean no bombs directly surround that cube; while numbers indicate how many bombs border that cube. Use this information to uncover all non-bomb locations and you win the match! GL HF!

If you enjoy logic & numbers, this is the game for you!

Game Modes

  • Campaign: Experience the story of Subvirtual while playing through 21 hand picked matches spread over 7 unique arenas ("All Arenas Bundle" item purchase NOT required for Campaign).

  • Custom Game: this match type is the "classic" experience. It is the playstyle used in the campaign mode. Allows player selections of both subgrid size (smol/medium/large) as well as difficulty (easy/medium/hard)

  • Memory Test: this match type is, as the name suggest, a memory game. Cubes will flash in order, adding 1 cube per round, and the player mush recover (fill) cubes in the same order that was flashed.

  • Bomb Sniffer: Need a break from the other game modes? This match type is impossible to lose! The subgrid contains only 1 bomb! You win when you blow up!

Additional Features

  • Unlockables: level up to unlock configurable options for each part of the flag & shovel VR hands with different colors & shaders. We're excited to see the custom combinations you come up with!

  • Distinct Arenas: all 7 of the arenas that are featured in the campaign present themselves with a distinct atmospheric vibe that gives each arena a unique sense of identity while you play. Which will be your favorite background aesthetic?

  • Atmospheric Music: Subvirtual's sound track was hand picked by Zivraye. A few tracks play on all arenas, but most arenas have 2-4 songs unique to that arena.

  • Statistics: see how many cubes you have uncovered, games won, and more!

    Version 1.0.7

Fixes/Patches - fixed via workaround for known engine issue regarding flag's cloth when changing arenas (patched in version 1.0.4, resolved) - Patched issue where the flag or shovel could be hovering a cube but the "connector pipes" would not show (was especially prevalent with Subgrids' calibration set to small cube sizes) - fixed issue where exiting Calibration Menu didn't immediately save the new calibration and player's change to grid size/height could be lost if the game was restarted immediately after completing calibration Additions/Improvements - Changed UI text of "medium" graphics quality setting to "standard" - Improved Arenas Beach Scene (campaign mode) & Warehouse Arenas. Water updated on both arenas!! - improved beach ambiance (the sound could barely be heard, turned up slightly) - Made menus more energy efficient. The menu decorations now receive less energy. The cubes may flicker now as they were not designed for low energy states (this effect is not visible on low graphics quality settings) - Added Zivraye's raft to the Beach Scene campaign levels - improved accuracy of flag hand selection sensor when selecting cubes in Subgrids

    Price Change

Seasons greetings! After careful consideration -or perhaps just too much eggnog- we've decided to halve all in-game prices! This includes the "All Arenas Bundle" (full game experience) price, which gives you all background Arenas current & future at today's pricing. Future Arenas will likely not be part of the campaign and may require purchasing (individually or bundled) as the only way to access those Arenas. If you own the bundle when new Arenas are released you will receive these arenas at no additional cost as we release them!!! The plan for the bundle pricing has not changed: it will increase with the addition of future Arenas (and likely the overall maturity of the game as well) . However, we feel that the previous price points would have quickly limited the maximum number of Arenas that could reasonable be added without drastically bloating the bundle's total price. For this reason we've decided to scale it back! This update also resolves the issue where in-game prices were shown as "( $ ERR )" and now, instead, will properly present the localized price (where appropriate) as-is from Steam. Please note: this is a permanent change and not a sale this does not affect players ability to enjoy the game modes (including the campaign) for free The Zivraye Group reserves the right to change the price at any time and for any reason

    Version 1.0.5

Fixes/Patches - fixed Options menu's tab bar slightly overlapping the Subvirtual title text Additions/Improvements - Changed the safety warning/agreement at startup. There is now a checkbox that won't show the warning/agreement again until it is updated - Added "About" section to Profile Panel as a tab. From here credits menu is linked, the Startup Safety Warning menu is linked, and external link to our webpage with some basic information about Zivraye's Universe is also linked - added "retry" button to the "VR Interface Not Found" error menu. This menu may show up if VR failed to start or the game started too fast or the VR headset has become disconnected before startup. The retry button should be used after ensuring VR is up and running and will detect the VR interface at this menu now instead of requiring the player to restart the game (as was the case before). Note: quit btn still available at this menu to exit & restart anyway if desirable
