Summer Development Update: Performance & World Improvements

Summer Development UpdateHello everyone! It's been a little while since our last update, so we wanted to share what we've been working on.Over the past few months our biggest priority has been performance. We've completed several optimization passes across the game, improving particles, lighting, AI, and other core systems. We're happy to share that our medium-sized maps are now running at over 60 FPS during internal testing, and we'll continue pushing performance even further. Our giant open world is still undergoing optimization and will require several more months of fine tuning before we're happy with it. At the same time, we're continuing to improve combat by refining attack animations, hit accuracy, and the overall feel of every encounter.Crystal temple initial design ( here you will upgrade your weapons with crystals you have found) :We've also been spending time polishing existing locations. One example is the Crystal Cave on Iona Island, where players will be be able to upgrade their weapons using magical crystals. The screenshots below show some of the latest improvements.Crystal cave first test in engine - design pass :The temple exterior has undergone a major overhaul, featuring new vegetation, statues, and ancient altars that reveal its history while guiding players through its mechanics. And if you're the curious type, you might just discover a hidden stone that opens a secret chamber.Summer is also a great opportunity to step away from our desks and recharge. During our travels we've been visiting medieval castles, villages, and historical landmarks across Europe, collecting inspiration that will help shape future locations in Danu.See You at Gamescom 2026!We'll be attending Gamescom in Cologne from August 24–29.If you're a player, creator, publisher, or fellow developer and would like to meet us, we'd love to connect. Feel free to reach out through the Gamescom app or send us a message on our social media channels to arrange a meeting.Thank you for fol...

Major Development Update - Tutorial Island Completed

Tutorial island complete, early supporters/testers inside, dragons under supervision. Here’s what we’ve been up to:🐉 Dragons upgraded. Smoother animations, smarter attacks, and improved summoning. You can no longer summon one inside the Tavern and accidentally end someone’s birthday party. We tested this. For science.⚡ Major FPS improvements on Iona Island. Performance is now buttery smooth on most modern PCs. Less stutter, more sword swings.🕯️ Interior lighting overhaul. The Tavern cellar and homes are properly lit now. No more tripping over drunk guildmates or mysterious barrels in the dark.🔊 Enhanced special ability sounds. When you cast something powerful, you’ll actually hear it. Fire should sound like fire, not like someone dropping cutlery.🛠️ Weapon & gear repair system 2.0 (partially implemented). Indestructible gear is no longer a lifestyle choice. Your sword now has responsibilities.💬 Chat system upgraded. Private rooms, cleaner UI, smoother communication. Whisper sweet strategies… or dramatic betrayals.🧭 Quest UI & compass update. Clearer tracking, better flow, and yes, you’ll always be able to find the Tavern. Priorities matter.Ah yes... one more thing, Steam Deck tests were also successful: And that’s a wrap for this update. If you’d like to sneak a peek behind the curtains, argue about dragons, or maybe even score an early demo key, come find us in our cozy little corners of the internet. Discord is where most of the chaos happens, but we also roam freely on X, YouTube, and Instagram.Follow along, say hello, and who knows, you might end up stepping into the world before everyone else. Our cozy RPG is slowly taking shape, and we’d love for it to find a warm spot in your heart… preferably somewhere near the Tavern fireplace. 🔥
