About this game
ACT 1 is available at launch. Acts 2 & 3 will release as free updates in the coming months!
FEED THE PIT is a linear, story-driven, investigative horror game where you hunt wealthy individuals through a dangerous card game in order to Feed The Pit, all while avoiding relentless horrors.
A STRANGE INVESTIGATION - THE GAMEPLAY
THE PIT hungers. To feed it, we're sending you to kill people in Carrister Valley. Hidden deep in the woods, your only hope at finding them is with magical cards--each of which asks a unique question about the target's location.
With the right inquiries, you'll narrow down the map until only one possible spot remains. Your card selection is limited--you'll have to play the hand you're dealt. No two investigations are the same.
RELENTLESS MONSTROSITIES
Every mission brings a new monster, acting as your nemesis for the day. Their behavior is a mystery. Take dangerous gambles and pay close attention to discover how they work, and more importantly--how to survive.
WELCOME TO E.C.C.
THE PIT is here to save us. And you've been invited to join his Chosen Circle. We have a higher purpose to serve. A new world order to execute. For Brotherhood. For The Pit.
A complex and branching story lies ahead. What will you do?
This game features music that is in the public domain.

Challenge Mode Balancing & Engine Upgrade
BALANCING? With Challenge Mode's release, we got a lot of feedback about the harder difficulties being far too dependent on luck. Of course, luck is a major part of Feed The Pit no matter what. However, some specific combos created scenarios which were unsurvivable regardless of your skill... boooo not fun!! The most severe combination has been Roaming Cardmaster + Exploding Cards, so, we've done a bit of work to hopefully prevent this from being an issue as often, and buffed some other things to help balance it out. Now, hopefully, the amount of deaths to sheer bad luck will hopefully be far less! But still not none. Because we are evil and stuff. Also, to anyone who's beaten SUFFER pre-patch... SUPER CONGRATS TO YOU!! CHALLENGE MODE TWEAKS ‘Roaming Cardmaster’ challenge has been changed to minimize absolutes. Cardmaster cannot teleport SUPER CLOSE to the player, but also cannot stray too far from the player. Spores cannot spawn within 2 tiles of the player (increased from 1 tile) Made spriggan slightly harder based on difficulty Slightly increased beartrap spawn chance Beartraps get harder to struggle out of the more you get caught in them Can play exploding cards ANYWHERE, even if the spot has no value to you (so the player can get rid of the card BEFORE it explodes) Slightly altered ‘Hostile Wilderness’ and ‘Out of Control’ presets ENGINE UPGRADEWe upgraded the engine (GODOT) from version 4.4.1 -> 4.7.2 This brings with it: Fixes some of the crashes people have experienced Fixes blinding light bug Minor performance improvement GENERAL FIXES/ADJUSTMENTS Added ‘Map Colorblind’ option to the settings ‘Frenzy lights’ turn off properly for nemeses if frenzy is cut off early Fixed issue related to foliage on path, caused by ‘No Path’ challenge Cannot burn cards OR open booster packs if the target’s position has been located Fixed nav issue on north bridge located in 'Pillars' map Fixed ‘target tip’ selection for challenge mode Fixed issue with hideout lighting for miss...Read full article on Community Announcements (curiousfoxsox)AnnouncementsOfficial
Challenge Mode Release
WHAT IS CHALLENGE MODEThese big story acts take a while! So, in the mean time, for those who have beaten the first act, continue playing Feed The Pit with CHALLENGE MODE!There's many hours of content to gather here. The 8 presets allow tailor-made challenges of increasing difficulty, and there's also 63 NEW QUESTIONS to ask the various cultists in the Challenge Mode hideout. You'll unlock a new set of questions with each preset you beat. What Challenges?Go and see! But, here are some of my favorites:Bounty Hunter - A woman is heading your way, armed and ready to blow your brains out.Exploding Cards - Cards blow up if you don't play them in 30 seconds. One Shot - Any damage will be lethal.Roaming Cardmaster - Cardmaster is always wandering across the map.GPS - You don't appear on the map. Use a GPS and navigate like a true explorer. And a lot of others. It's actually really fun. (maybe not the hardest preset....)What if I'm bad at games? That's okay... I am too. That's why we have a variety of presets, each in increasing difficulty. You can just play the ones you enjoy, or fully customize your experience with the challenges you actually like! There's also a bunch of sliders to make the game harder OR easier. You can give yourself TONS of money, extra inventory slots, extra portals, and other cool stuff like that. It's great!Did you say more story?Yes I did. Challenge mode is a bit before Act 1. Which means, ALL seven cultists are hanging around the hideout, happy to chat with you.Scout and Protector lovers... I did this for you. You're welcome.WHAT ELSE?Well, Act 2 is coming soon. There are some updates made to Act 1, including a few new songs. The soundtrack is gonna be releasing on YouTube very soon!Alright, alright, here's your larger change list:NEW ACHIEVEMENTS Act 1 Master - Complete the Act 1 SUFFER presetChase Card - Pull the Stone Flower from a Booster PackNew Game Plus - Complete any preset in challenge modeCHANGESUpdated patrons list in creditsFixed shadow issu...Read full article on Community Announcements (isacxbusiness)Patch NotesOfficial
