About this game
Hardcore Survival
Mars Exodus is a hardcore single-player survival experience set on Mars in the year 2048. Mars is being run into the ground by a dystopian megacorp called BetterLife. BetterLife controls daily life through labor, food, and policing. You must survive in this cruel world when all odds are against you. Each choice matters in the exclusion zone so make no mistake on your quest to survive and thrive.
Play your way
Kill your enemies, betray your friends, steal food from the poor. Immerse yourself in this dark world and decide whether you want to be loyal to BetterLife, loyal to your faction, or loyal to no one.
Design your own Character
Male, female, tall, short, old, or young - design your character and define their starting skills in this world.
You are not the Chosen One
Nothing makes you special, you are mortal just like everyone else. But hard effort and a bit of luck might make your playthrough very special.
Obey BetterLife
Obey your daily training duties at the BetterLife terminals to qualify for soy rations. Or look for your own food if you're adventurous.
Build your Base
Use your crafted and gathered building blocks to construct a base to protect yourself, your squad, or your entire faction. Craft new weapons and tools to make survival easier.
Join a Faction
12 factions to join - from cheese-eating aristocrats to militant authoritarians. You decide who will be friend and who will be foe. Grow your faction by recruiting citizens or even starting families.
Develop your Skills
Increase 12 skills including medicine, mining, crafting, fitness and more. Each character feels different because they have different skillsets. The farmer, the doctor, the master cook. Play your way.
Science Simulation
Watts, rads, wind speed - consider where to build your wind turbine, whether you should really stand near the nuclear generator, and if you have enough power to get through the night.
True unfiltered Indie
No publisher. No investors. No DLC. No suits telling me what to do - just me making the game for you.

Update 25: Curfew
Mars now runs on a clock. BetterLife gives you a job and a ration by day, the underground gives you work after curfew, and both keep a record of what you did. Start a new game. Saves from Update 24 are not supported. The Day Loop A day lasts 45 minutes. Work from 06:00, curfew at 20:00, sleep until the next morning. Morning statement at 06:00. BetterLife files your social credit changes with a reason for each, issues your ration by standing, and rolls the day's weather. Company assignments replace the terminal shift. Each day brings one job in the world, due before curfew. Twelve assignments, one per skill, with survival work coming up most often. Pay rises with rank: 20 credits as a Worker, 45 as an Overseer. Company Training at the BetterLife terminal is optional. One session counts per day, and 3, 8 and 15 sessions promote you to Operator, Overseer and Director. Missed work costs you. A day without a finished shift is 50 social credit at the next statement, and each assignment left open is 20 more. Curfew. BetterLife warns at 19:30 and calls curfew at 20:00. Scanner drones photograph anyone they catch outside after that. Real sleep. A bed fast forwards to 06:00 and saves the game. Taking damage wakes you up. The ration now includes Soy Drink alongside Soy Food. The company farm in the jail yard: beds that grow on their own. Harvesting without the harvest assignment costs 15 social credit. Night Work 26 faction jobs across the nine faction leaders, offered only after curfew. Ask "Any work?" in their dialog. Paid in dollars, in person. Hits and sabotage end with reporting back, stash runs and fetches end with handing the goods over. Pay scales with the ring the job sends you to. One job per leader per night. Open jobs lapse at 06:00 and cost loyalty. Finished jobs move your standing with the factions involved. The underground gathers at campfires after curfew until 02:00, then goes to bed. At 20:00, up to two leaders you are on good terms with call you in for work....Read full article on Community Announcements (LeonDev)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 24: The Economy
Update 24: The EconomyEverything in the game now has a price, and that price is set against a working day of forty credits. Merchants buy, stock runs out, food rots, corpses carry what their faction carries. At the far end of it there is a rocket you can build and a launch pad you can put it on, which is the first time Mars Exodus has had a way to end.Economy and TradePrices rebuilt from scratch. Every item is tiered against a forty credit working day, so you can read a price tag and know whether it is a night of work or a month of it.Merchants buy your loot. Every trader has stock, runs out of it, and puts in requisitions for goods they cannot source.Faction corpse loot. Bodies carry what their faction carries: a patch on every member, weapons appropriate to the area, trade goods on the people who deal in them.Seeded loot areas. Containers and world spawns are populated per area instead of drawing from one global pool.Spoilage. Food degrades over time.Recycling pays by value. The recycler returns materials based on what you fed it, not on weight.Hand recipes. A set of recipes that need no workbench, for when you are out in the rings with nothing.Item pass. 49 unused item types removed, the magnesium and tungsten chains reinstated with real sinks. 299 item types in total.New item icons, rendered from the models themselves.Leaving MarsWin condition implemented. Build a rocket and get off the planet. It takes four hull parts, three tanks of ammonium perchlorate fuel and one uranium core, behind the Rockets technology.Hull parts cost 200 electrical steel, 100 titanium and a component each. Titanium and tungsten come from the outer rings, uranium from research sites, steel from faction trade. The endgame drains the whole economy. The Launch Pad, a sealed site in the Outskirts that accepts the rocket and stages it. In Early Access the launch window is "pending administrative review" and staging the ship is the finish line. The launch and the ending ship with 1.0.Automatio...Read full article on Community Announcements (LeonDev)Patch NotesOfficial
