About this game

Ultra Cop is a short and challenging old-school first/third-person action game taking loving inspiration from the 90's greats on both PC and consoles of the time.

In the not too distant future, South Africa enters the second Crime War.

As an enhanced Ultra Cop you are tasked with bringing down gangs and syndicates alike.

You're not here to arrest anyone. The protocol is simple: ZERO TOLERANCE

Law & Order has fallen, and you have to pick it up.

Use an array of weapons ranging from the Battle Mech, Riot Car and future firepower to destroy all criminal elements and their operations.

Ultra Cop aims to provide a classic action experience from the 6th Generation of gaming, hearkening back to a time when gaming was simpler.

    Roadmap Update

1 YearToday marks a year since the release of Ultra Cop.I want to thank you guys for giving my jank ass small game a chance, and hope it has been a fun experience. From one player to another, I sincerely thank you all for playing! Very grateful for the whole thing, especially with how obscure my stuff is. You guys are the real ones ːsteamthumbsupːThat being said, what follows is probably not going to sit well with everyone. This is a long, messy update, but I really believe it needs to be done.Hopefully you guys understand where I'm coming from. You already know what you're in for if you've been here a while.Amateur hour to the very end!Roadmap TLDRLess than a year ago I outlined what I thought the roadmap could look like:Ultra Cop received quite a few notable updates, namely new weapons, enemies and vehicles, as well as quality of life updates. New content would be added laterSaturn's Gaze would be worked on at the same timeAn idea for a Car Combat gameCARNAL RemakeThat was the original idea, but things have changed a bit. Here's the new order:Finish Saturn's Gaze and release it firstUse that money(hopefully there is lol) to redo Ultra Cop's art, menus. improve experience and add new content like buddy NPC's, civilains, cutscenes and hire real voice actors.Throw the Car Combat idea in the far future binCARNAL RemakeI'll try to explain myself below lolUltra Cop UpdatesThere has been a shift in focus with all of my projects. Nothing is cancelled or scrapped, but I am changing the order a bit to better serve you dudes, at least to the best of my abilities/imagination.The updates to the game are still real and being worked on, that will not change. Some of you know of my hope of remaking CARNAL, improving everything basically. That's what I'm going to do with Ultra Cop first. I want to redo most of the game's art and menus and relaunch it as a big update, along with the maps and other content we talked about.I also want to add real voice acting, cutscenes, civilians, and imp...

    Patch 1.019

Hey guysIt's been a little while, decided to post a quick update.Mostly to prove I'm still alive and haven't walked away indefinitely.I wouldn't abandon any games I've released, ain't about that life.So if there's ever any radio silence for some time then something's probably wrong lolChangelog:Added the option to have non-gibbed enemy bodies stayAdded the option to have non-gibbed human enemies always ragdollIt's not a huge one, granted, but there were requests for these so why not?Updates and shitUltra Cop ContentApologies for how long the big updates are taking.I know you guys have WAY better stuff to be doing anyways, and no one's sitting around waiting for Ultra Cop updates, but I feel guilty for not keeping you guys in the loop. The way I do level creation takes an ungodly amount of time, my fault obviously, but it looks better that way in the end. I'm gonna release the first 2 of the 4 mission maps the moment they're done, just to keep the content flowing, instead of waiting until all are completed. After that the 2 survival maps, then the cosmetic stuff.Next Game shitOne of the reasons the Ultra Cop updates are slower, is because I have this existential worry about not releasing more new games. Makes me feel like a proper knob, I'll tell ya what.I have been making prototypes and quick idea projects to figure out how to lessen the amount of time it takes to make smaller games that are fun but won't take forever to create. There's no silver bullet, unfortunately.Especially if you're retarded like me.The Saturn's Gaze and Twisted Metal-like projects have been constantly reconfigured or restarted since I've told you guys about it.ALL MY FAULT OBVIOUSLY In fact I'm gonna make my life harder and show some of it here so we can all laugh at it together, proving that I have in fact been wasting precious life hours making shit that no one will ever care about ːsteamthumbsupː The first from the video is the car combat prototype, had to figure out how to emulate the Twist...

    Patch 1.018 - Weapon Update 2

Hey guys This patch added four extra weapons and some fixes/changes. Changelog: Added M3 Shotgun Added Jumbo Shotgun Added GL 40 Grenade Launcher Added Explosive Crossbow Rebalanced USAS Shotgun Fixed Weapons visibility glitch Increased Tank projectile damage Reduced Clone tank hitpoint amount in Mission 2 Attempted to improve resolution reset code I was going to wait until the levels update to add the new weapons, but thought it might be better to release incremental broken updates instead of one big broken update. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45253929/218003410ed2ef19fa060619eadf33f34c64f9a2.gif It's not quite this lol These new weapons are probably an acquired taste and not as all round useful as the other hitscan ones, but hope it can add some fun into the mix. I'm more than open to rebalancing them if you guys have any issues. Also there will be other smaller updates in between to fix stuff I've likely broken along the way. Again I apologize for the long wait, my slow ass bogs down the whole thing. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45253929/7c7f31b6aabbc1eaf5069e50b0a80f9969029917.jpg Saturn's Gaze Update This is probably not something anyone cares for, but I'm going to post it anyways lol Tried some new things with this project, specifically a new art style. Every game I've ever made used a combination of photos and custom drawing over it. With this game I'm gonna try to draw every texture by hand, without using any photo or texture references. Guess we'll have to see how it pans out. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45253929/ce09c0ef705add351535d962b2db331d1c43c338.jpg{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45253929/5438a1c421381a55e01cda1b6f45dfaa978d083f.jpg This is the protaganist and his textures are all hand painted. I've named him Creed, like the band lol. This is probably how the overall style will be going forward. I was very inspired by the way Shadow Man's textures looked and tried to do something in a similar vein. Conclusion None of this matters really lol Hope you guys are doing well, and that life is tre...

    Patch 1.017 - Small Fixes

Hey guys Quick update to address (attempts to at least) some stupid issues that I missed or caused. Changelog: Attempted to fix resolution resetting bug within Windowed Mode Added a Resolution scaler in the Video Settings to reduce perceived resolution Removed forced internal Anti-Aliasing unless it is toggled in Video Settings Fixed particle effects on Support Enemies Increased Sparks incendiary weapon chance to set enemies on fire (33% likely now) Fixed Sparks off-center aiming to shoot where crosshair is pointing The resolution reset problem was a pain to circumvent. This bug has been with Unity for a VERY long time, from what I can tell. I used a very hacky solution to force the engine to respect the selected Resolution when in Windowed mode. It works, but it's not pretty. If you wanted to break the game by messing with the setting and view modes, you most likely could. I never intended to have Ultra Cop be played outside Exclusive Fullscreen, but the ability to toggle to Windowed mode is still enabled for those who want it. Hope you guys have a good weekend, will keep updating as time goes on ːsteamthumbsupː - JG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLSr0BAlndM

    Patch 1.016 - Weapons Update

Hey guys Sorry for the delay, I have uploaded a janky update to add 4 new weapons to choose from and some other minor stuff. Changelog: Added Dual Auto Pistols Added Dual Machine Pistols Added a Precision Rifle Added a Projectile Machine Gun Reduced particles on Mission 4 to improve performance Added the ability to toggle friendly/enemy unit boxes The Dual weapons are fast firing, the precision rifle can blow off heads, and the projectile machine gun shoots incendiary bullets that have a chance of setting enemies on fire sometimes. The new toggle is located in the User Interface Menu, and you change it without restarting the level. I've been working on the new levels on and off, me hopes it won't take too long. Also the fix for Windowed mode resolution shenanigans will be the next minor update, probably. I trust all is well, and enjoy the rest of your week ːsteamthumbsupː - JG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1t4Zuto0d8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hP8pItthKkg
