About the Game

As governor, how you build and govern will shape your story, your citizens’ destiny, and your provinces’ future. Will you cooperate with other governors or prove your military prowess by challenging your rivals? The cost of peace is yours to decide.

EXPERIENCE THE PREMIER BUILDER

Build your provinces with unmatched detail, flexibility, and scale. Watch kids chase dogs through the streets or thousands cheer in the arena. Build upon the land that you see, from the beautiful heartland of Latium to the mysterious Celtic wetlands of Albion… where no civilized Roman wants to be.

BECOME A ROMAN GOVERNOR

Design the cities of your dreams at the peak of the Roman Empire as you balance your people's needs with the relentless demands of the emperor. Forge alliances across the empire or showcase your might with strategic land battles and naval combat. You may even defy the emperor himself – but not without consequences.

CHOOSE THE FATE OF YOUR PROVINCES

Every decision you make as governor matters. Will you honor local Celtic culture or enforce Roman traditions? Grow your provinces through diplomacy and commerce or conquer through military strength. Your choices will shape not only the future of your citizens and your provinces, but your own story as well.

By the gods! It’s the release day of the “Echoes of Kassandra” pack, the latest cosmetic pack for Anno 117: Pax Romana.Inspired by the world of Kassandra, the ancient Greek hero from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, this pack includes several new statues, skins and a grand music hall with 1h of music from Odyssey: protect your harbour with a giant statue of Zeus, choose Leonidas as protector of your city gates and Kassandra as your new profile picture, and paint some of your residences and city watch buildings in a hellenic blue colour scheme.Learn more about the pack in our dedicated DevBlog here or watch the trailer below!More ornaments! We know that for some of you there’s no such thing as too many ornaments, which is why we’re always happy to point you in the direction of our awesome modding community on PC as well. One recent example is the very, very comprehensive “Decorations Mod” by Maggus, which includes around 2000 ornaments and decorations you can use in your game. Check out their overview trailer below and download the mod directly via mod.ioYou can find plenty more mods on mod.io, and we always recommend to check out the various smaller and bigger mods if you want to adjust your experience with new challenges or options. Of course, we have a few ideas for themes for potential future cosmetic packs on our side as well, combined with the feedback from you on what kind of ornaments & skins you are currently missing.Mods, cheat and their impact on multiplayer desyncsTalking about mods: with the last patches, we fixed many of the crashes and desyncs (“TRAJAN”-errors) that you have encountered in the past. Now, we are at a state where the game runs much more stable, but also where a large portion of our crash and desync reports show usage of mods or cheats and wanted to address this topic.ModsWe love seeing you both create and use mods for Anno 117: Pax Romana to further customize your experience. (In fact, we love it so much that we are working on making modding and ...

DevBlog: The Echoes of Kassandra Cosmetic Pack

Bring some Greek vibes from the world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey into your game with the “Echoes of Kassandra” Pack! We’ve already given you a broad overview of this upcoming cosmetic pack in our gamescom recap last week. Now it’s time to dive a bit deeper and give more details about this pack themed around the world of the famous Spartan hero Kassandra.Portraits and SigilsLeading the way is the namesake of this cosmetic pack: Kassandra herself. She’s joining you as a profile portrait alongside a masked member of the Cult of Cosmos. Like any other portrait, you can switch to a “new you” at any time during the game by opening the “game setup” screen. Here you can also change your player colour and your sigil.Talking about that, the “Echoes of Kassandra” Pack also adds five new sigils, including Kassandra’s own, which you can then proudly display on – for example – your ship’s sails and your villa’s banners.SkinsTalking about ships, your flagship also receives a new coat of paint – and a mighty golden eagle figurehead – with a skin modeled after the “Adrestia”, Kassandra’s flagship from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. All your Tier 1 residences (across all provinces) also receive a new and very bright paint job: inspired by Mykonos, these white and blue skins bring a very unique look to your cities and maybe also inspire some holiday feeling! A suspicious haystack has also been sighted…This paint scheme is also extended to all City Watch buildings (Vigiles, Custodia, Medici) as well as their smaller variants (Well, Watchtower and Latrine. The latter now having an open roof, as our Art Director loves pointing out). Are you building a small Greek-inspired district in your city or use the skins for a small fishing village on a remote island? We’re curious how you’ll use these new paint schemes.StatuesBoth the Greeks and then also the Romans loved their statues, even if size and style may have differed a bit between both cultures, historically. In Anno 117: Pax Romana, a variety ...
