  Whiskara 1.2 is released

  Surprise!Here it is, Whiskara's (possible) last update! This is the biggest update the game will ever get (because there probably won't be anymore, besides patches)! However future content updates cannot be promised, this update was originally going to be way bigger, but this whole project was just too ambitious for one person to complete.So I have been doing some edits to that version, and I present you with a cut down version of that cancelled update, with only some features cut (mainly side content and the whole caves segment). And as stated in previous announcements, future games that I will work on will be much less ambitious.There are simply too many changes to list in this update, but here are some notable features / additions:- Saving System (for real)- Steam Cloud- Lighting Update- Overhauled Story / Quest System- Steam Deck support (may take a while to get the Deck Verified rating, but it works well on my Steam Deck with Medium Graphics & Global Illumination on)Thank you so much for playing my game, I hope you can all stay around for my future games!- Tom, Holdact Games

  Thank You, Whiskara

  I wanted to take a moment to share some important news about Whiskara. After a lot of hard thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to the project on hold indefinitely. When I first started working on Whiskara, I was passionate, excited, and full of ideas... but also still fairly inexperienced. Over the 8-ish month development time, I’ve grown a lot as a developer, and through that growth, I’ve come to realise that the scope of Whiskara was simply more than I, a single developer, could realistically manage. I bit off more than I could chew. Whiskara will never be forgotten. It is a huge milestone in my development journey, and one I’m incredibly proud of, even if it didn’t make it to the finish line. It has taught me invaluable lessons about creating games. I still love making games, and I’m not stopping anytime soon. Moving forward, I’ll be focusing on a smaller, more manageable project... one where I can apply everything I’ve learned so far to deliver something polished and complete. To everyone who supported Whiskara, followed along, or cheered me on, thank you. Your support has meant a lot to me. I hope you’ll stick around for what's next. I’m more excited than ever to keep creating and making gamers happier. Following next week, I will set the game to a Free-to-play status, as I cannot promise future updates will come to Whiskara.   New Cat Type and Clothes - Developer Update #2 - Whiskara

  Hiya everyone! A few days ago I started doing developer updates to let you all know how development is going, and I have done so much. I have created a new type of cat that'll appear in game, a humble tabby cat. This cat type will exist within the valley alongside the other characters. image showing the new tabby cat type without clothing. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45242420/ca5d84f1ed3e21b633609323120d34d6e7fe2dd8.png Clothing, you may have already noticed that both Charlie and Dad both wear a knitted cardigan, however they don't wear any lower concealment, and other characters don't wear any clothing whatsoever. So in Alpha 1.2 all characters will be wearing clothing, however, upon release you won't be able to customise Lyra's appearance, maybe in a later update I will add a feature like that. images depicting cat in clothing, colours are for contrast, upon release they'll have proper textures.   Developer Update #1

  I am really embarrassed to make this announcement again, but Alpha 1.2 will not be releasing this March, I am no longer going to make any promises on a release date for this update, I still have a lot to do, and I've not had the time to work on the project for personal reasons I don't want to get into. However I can say it will 100% be out this year, I will start taking this much more seriously, and I will start doing these developer updates to let you all know how the project is getting along. Unfortunately I am a perfectionist when it comes to Whiskara, for better and for worse. I am hyper-focused on making the game as good as I'm capable of doing, but it comes at the cost of having infinite delays. So I have to put my foot down and just do with what I've got, and if I'm not personally happy with it, I'll worry about it later. Once again, I am sorry for not keeping my promised release schedule. But things will get better, keep an eye out for more of these developer updates in the near future.
