    Dev Update: campaign progression perks

Artillery strikesThis is one of the perks you can unlock while progressing through a campaign. As you complete objectives you will gain score in four categories, these represent the enemies degrading capabilities as the war goes on. Reaching certain levels will unlock various useful perks that will help you in your mission. For example, destroying an enemy supply depot will weaken their logistics. Some targets like this also have some other special effects that buff enemies until you destroy them, making them priority targets. There is also a new feature that can be accessed from the map screen, a recon drone image of your surroundings to help your situational awareness. This is also where you can mark the target of artillery strikes.

Dev Update: enemy features and environment assets

I have been implementing some enemy related features recently, like teaching the AI to fly a helicopter without crashing into buildings. And now that there are flying enemies I could also finish up the air-to-air missiles (complete with growling lock tone).Tanks now have the ability to deploy a smoke screen that prevents lock-on to protect themselves and other enemies. There are also troop transports that deploy a squad of infantry with some potent weapons.I'm also creating more assets for the environment and the various strategic target locations you'll have to visit.

    Dev Update: countermeasures and enemies

Hello, in this update I'd like to talk a bit about countermeasures in the game.Your best way to avoid incoming missiles is to just hide behind cover. However if you don't have any nearby or there's just no time to hide, you'll have a few options to avoid getting hit.Flares have been shown in the early gameplay videos already, they're your go-to defense against heat-seeking missiles. Radar guided missiles on the other hand aren't affected by flares, tend to have longer ranges and are more dangerous. Luckily you'll have a handy radar warning receiver that will alert you of nearby search radars, as well as missiles launched at you (only the radar guided ones though). It even deploys chaff automatically for you! When planning your flight you'll have to consider your countermeasures count, it would rather inconvenient to run out of chaff while having to cross areas with heavy radar cover. You can see the launch warning blinking and chaff in the gif above (unfortunately a bit hard to see thanks to the compression). You can also spot some of the recently implemented loadout options on the wing pylons.I've also been creating many new assets for the rest of the enemies. I am aiming for hardware that is more era-appropriate for the '90s and is plausible to be present in a gulf war-like scenario.

Dev Update: Mission planning and UI

Hello, this is a short update on some of the things I've been working on.The UI has went through an overhaul, going for a cockpit inspired look. The display panels were mainly based on the apaches cockpit instruments. The map screen was also redesigned into some sort of military mission computer. The layout might be familiar to some fans of the strike series. This screen currently shows the flight planning phase before a sortie. You'll have to plot your flight path to reach your chosen targets while avoiding long range air defenses. It also helps you gauge how much fuel your route will take as you can refuel only at your home base. For longer flights you can choose a loadout with external fuel tanks to increase your range. Each sortie takes up a day, and as shown on the screen you have limited amount of days to complete your main objectives. Each day new targets can appear and others may disappear, so you'll have to decide which ones to prioritize to achieve your main goals.
