About this game

Answer right, play better

EdNoKa is five small games with one twist: the quiz is part of the action. Pick a topic, pick a game, and every few moments a question pops up. Get it right and the game rewards you: rain for your crops, or an extra stroke on the green. Get it wrong and you play on, just a little harder.

Five games, one question at a time

  • Veggies Island — gather, trade for seeds, grow your patch. Correct answers make it rain.

  • Pico Golf — underwater mini golf. Correct answers earn extra strokes.

  • Agent Ka — a detective hunt through the city. Wrong answers cost you time.

  • Base of 30 — slash and dash through waves of critters until the quiz pillar shows up.

  • Aerial Ambush — jump and dash across the sky. Correct answers mean fewer missiles.

36 quizzes, 3,600 questions

Every quiz has 100 questions, written for grades 3–5 and reviewed one by one:

  • Math — times tables, division, fractions, geometry, money, decimals, measurement, area & perimeter

  • Science — the solar system, animals, the human body, life cycles, weather, dinosaurs, food chains, states of matter, plants, simple machines, ecosystems, space exploration

  • Social studies — continents, countries & capitals, flags, map skills, explorers, Ancient Egypt, Greece & Rome, historical leaders

  • Language — synonyms & antonyms, punctuation, parts of speech, spelling, vocabulary, compound words, prefixes & suffixes, idioms

Questions come with pictures, so a quiz on flags or dinosaurs looks like one.

For parents

  • Single-player, no chat, no ads, no in-game currency.

  • A Parent Hub to see which quizzes were played and how they went.

  • Free to start: two games and six quizzes rotate every week. Full Access is a one-time purchase that unlocks all five games and all 36 quizzes for good, as well as all future games and quizzes.

Made by a family of three

EdNoKa is built by Ed, No and Ka (a father, a son and a mother) because we wanted screen time that asks questions back.

Five games, five different ways a right answer pays off

The demo has been out two weeks, so here is what is actually in it. All five games are in the demo, not a sample of them. What changes between them is what a correct answer buys you. Veggies Island. Gather, trade for seeds, grow your patch. Correct answers make it rain, and rain is what grows the crop. Pico Golf. Underwater mini golf across ten holes. Correct answers earn you extra strokes, so a good round of questions is a good round of golf. Agent Ka. A detective hunt through the city, with powers that see through walls or turn the world red as you close in. Wrong answers cost you time. Base of 30. Slash and dash through waves of critters until the quiz pillar shows up. Aerial Ambush. Jump and dash across the sky. Correct answers mean fewer missiles. Six of the 36 quizzes are unlocked in the demo: Multiplication Tables, Fractions, Dinosaurs, Solar System and Planets, World Flags, and Idioms and Expressions. They are fixed, not the weekly rotation, so you can come back to the same one. We are in Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26. If you have played the demo, the single most useful thing you can do is tell us what your kid did with it, in the discussions or on Discord. Everything we fixed in the last two weeks came from someone doing that. Demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3256100/EdNoKa/ Discord: https://discord.gg/VZ3uXJ44mE

The demo is out. Go play it.

We pressed the button. The EdNoKa demo is live on Steam, it is free, and the download button is right on this page. What it is Five mini-games where the quiz is part of the play, not a screen that interrupts it. Farm, golf, investigate, fight or fly your way through a set of questions. Answer right and your crop grows, your shot lands, your cover holds. The questions are written for grades 3 to 5, across math, science, social studies and language. 36 quizzes, 3,600 questions in the full game, reviewed one at a time before they shipped. What is in the demo All five games, and six quizzes, one from each corner of the catalogue: Multiplication Tables Fractions Dinosaurs Solar System and Planets World Flags Idioms and Expressions No ads, no chat, no in-game currency, nothing pushing your kid to spend. Who made it Three of us. A father, a mother, and a son who is the reason the questions are the age they are. He tested this build, he found things we had missed, and his finger was on the key next to mine when we released it. What happens next We are in Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26, and the full game launches on December 17. If the demo lands with your kid, the two things that help us most are a wishlist and a note about what broke. We read all of it, here on the forums or on Discord.
