  No Further Updates for World Rally Arcade

  Hey all, Toby here.I am no longer able to do anything to support this game. I apologise in advance for anyone who expected this to receive further updates. The game is free thankfully so I at least haven't damaged wallets with this. If you like the game, it will continue to be in your library for the foreseeable future. Otherwise, it has been a pleasure to try, and I am sorry for disappointing players expecting features like achievements, localisations in other languages, and features like the championship mode.The reasons why I can not continue to support this game:University is nearly wrapping up for me, with my course ending in May 2026 this year.The game is free and is not financially viable for me to support properly without a job.The reception of the game has been poor critically, and the points are totally valid. Why should people play this when there are better alternatives?This game was built on an awful code-base to work with, meaning that making changes to the game does take as long as it has done in the past.All of these factors combined have led to this game being more and more difficult to work with as features have been haphazardly thrown onto the top of the project, as well as issues with both optimisation and visual fidelity leading to problems I can not solve at my current (lack of) skill level.Thanks for all the memories, keep it on the road.

  WRA PATCH NOTES V1.04

  Hello, Toby here! Been a while since I last patched this game (31 Dec 2024... oops) and I just thought this would help in the interim between now and the 1.05 update which I intend to introduce Championship and Hotseat mode in! The idea for this patch was just to get a few more stability, bug fix, and optimisation problems out of the way before I get to the big stuff. - Snowy trees now have collision - Several reset triggers added to Snowy's biggest shortcuts - Several reset triggers added to Stadium's out of bounds - Fixed Safari's lack of reflections on the car - Cars have been slowed down slightly to give the player more of a feel for the car. Try drifting in this new handling model! - Acceleration has been nerfed from 2400 to 1800 - Hybrid has been buffed to compensate, with a faster recharge rate during drifts - Drifting now slows the car down, but charges hybrid, as was the original intention - Steering power has been increased PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR LAP TIMES WILL BE SLOWER THAN V1.03, BUT THIS SHOULD ALLOW FOR A MORE FUN GAME! - New title screen harking back to the game's arcade roots and inspiration - Stadium time of day changed from Sunrise to Morning - Forest is finally a forest again, more trees - Safari time of day changed from Midday to Night - New pace note icons (the old ones were meant to be temporary, oops!) - Several high-poly models have had their triangle count reduced this update to reduce performance tax. - Removed the old confirm sound, replaced with something more easy on the ears - Added title and results BGM to the BGM sound category, hopefully no more deafening sound when you open the game and finish a race - Added new Safari music - Added button to delete stored record lap times - Made audio settings apply INSTANTLY That's all for now, but I'll try not to make the wait for V1.05, which should be the final update for WRA, last too long!   WRA PATCH NOTES V1.03

  Hey everyone! Been busy at work again with some more changes before I go back to university. The main focus of this patch was adding more content and optimisations. - Added new practice menu. Better organised and modular for future additions. - Restructured Options menu for easier use. - Enabled forward rendering, which should result in a large FPS increase. - Added Car Setting menu (I've got plans for this one later!) - Increased tire skid volume. - Optimised car model. - Optimised driver model. - NEW STAGE: SNOWY - PRO DIFFICULTY If you're looking for a new challenge... face Snowy, the most difficult stage the game has to offer! - Optimisations applied to Stadium. - Optimisations applied to Forest. - Moved one of the boundaries of Forest for a more lenient reset point. - 60 FPS cap added to prevent optimisations from causing extreme speedup and fast-forwarding. - Removed "that rock" from Forest. - Added quick restart in Pause Menu. - Added arrows to show where selections are in the Main Menu following complaints of it being unintuitive. - Added ARROW KEY support for controlling the car. - Fixed a bug with MPH not appearing turned on even when it is in the Options Menu. - Fixed a bug where audio volume would appear to not save in the Options Menu.   WRA PATCH NOTES V1.02

  Hey everyone! I've been away for a while, but this Christmas I've given the game a small tune-up to fix both some quality of life issues and lay the groundwork for the game's future. - Fixed timer system - should be more consistent now - Fixed options menu not saving settings. - Laid some additional groundwork for "CHAMPIONSHIP" modes addition. - Fixed Forest's music not looping. - Fixed Main Menu music not looping. - Added some menu button sounds. - Made the car stop post-session to prevent spam of "Keep it on the road!" and "There's two of us in here, you know!" audio from playing. - Added practice stage records. - Fixed a UI bug resulting in sliders shown over credits - Fixed a bug where Menu Controls UI would disappear upon pressing Back with no menu selected - Added "Turn Menu" prompt at the bottom of the screen. - Save game added!
