About the Game

Ever dreamt of being the lowest of the low, living a life so nasty and gnarly that even the rats look down on you? Well, in Pit of Goblin, that’s every day! Slap on your stinkiest boots and dive into crumbling crypts, ghastly caverns, and ghost-infested ruins. Every step is fraught with peril and surprise! Your purpose is feeding the King Queen’s bottomless gut. The best part? You can drag your goblin buddies along for the misery!

Join forces with up to three goblin buddies. Teamwork is key... unless, of course, you are the kind of goblin that prefers causing trouble! Will you stick together, or sneak off and get into mischief? Either way, it’s gonna be gobliny chaos.

Every crawl through the Pit is a brand-new goblin tale, whether you're dodging deadly traps or tripping over your own oversized feet. No two runs smell the same!

The deeper you go, the tougher the challenge. Don't forget, you have to find your way back out... if you want to live to see another day.

Scavenge for food and decide whether to hand over your spoils to the King Queen. Chow it down yourself to gain stamina, or sell some at the shop to prepare for your next descent – but one wrong move could mean the end of your miserable existence.

You’ve been warned: the King Queen’s belly is a bottomless pit. They’ve always got room for more grub... or goblins!

You’ll stumble through dungeons so spooky, even your toenails will curl! Whether it’s terrifying tombs, cursed corridors, or just plain goblin goofiness, nothing in the Pit goes smoothly. Every meal is an adventure.

Will you hoard your loot to survive, or play it safe and keep the King Queen happy? The choice is yours. Every dive into the Pit offers the chance to upgrade your gear, but beware, disappointing the King Queen could be your downfall!

Gameplay and features

Pit of Goblin is a co-op survival extraction game. You can tackle it solo, but it’s recommended to play with friends (or random teammates through matchmaking). The aim is to descend into the Pit and search for food and other valuables.

Throughout the different depths of the Pit are monsters and nasties that will try to kill you and your goblin friends or steal the food you have successfully found. Run, hide, but don’t forget to watch your step. Otherwise, you might fall victim to traps that can hurt or even kill you.

Goblins have the ability to sprint, jump, and fill their limited pockets with loot. Big items might need both hands, though! Eating certain items may give you a buff, or you could try using them as a weapon or distraction by throwing them!

Your task is to feed the King Queen and keep them sated. Manage to deliver enough food and they’ll send you right back into the Pit once again, only they get greedier each time, increasing the amount needed to still their hunger. The further down you go into the Pit, the greater the rewards – but is it worth the risk?

Sell your loot in the goblin village and exchange your precious coins for torches, magical lanterns, armor, and other useful items. The goblin merchant has it all! Or swing by the curio shop and procure special communication stones for the right price!

Be daring and explore the Pit – the King Queen is hungry!

PIT OF GOBLIN launches 1.0 on November 3rd!!

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well how about this image with words on it?!Yes! It is true, we are finally launching 1.0 on November 3rd! We know the wait has been long. We've been hard at work on fixing new features, squashing bugs (creating new bugs and squashing those bugs) all to deliver a 1.0 version that we players will enjoy. PIT OF GOBLIN is our first released game as a studio so all four of us here at Friendly Foe are super excited to finally release PIT OF GOBLIN into 1.0.Entering 1.0 doesn't mean that every wishlisted feature is in the game, We are only a small studio of four people after all! Rather 1.0 represents our base vision for the game, the version of PIT OF GOBLIN we would have released if we didn't enter Early Access those two years ago! As such, we still a ton of ideas of content and fun stuff to put in the game for future updates (generally for every feature we put in about four are left on the table!). We hope 1.0 will feel like a full and fun game to new and returning players.Well, enough yapping! What can you expect in 1.0 when it launches this November 3rd?1.0 FeaturesPlayer Limit increased from 4 to 6! - More goblins, more mayhem!Cross-Platform Play - Play with your friends on Playstation®5 and Xbox Series X/S! Magic Books & Spells - Find magic books and learn a school of magic. Each different with unique uses and effects!New Biomes - The Undergrowth and Great Library!... And more! That’s only part of what’s coming with 1.0. Expect some new systems, upgrades, enemies and other goblin surprises! Now, with all that said I'm gonna brew another pot of coffee, there is game devving to be done! (NOTE: The Roadmap will recieve a small update to reflect these changes)

    The Road to 1.0

Hey everyone! Update info time! It's been way too long since we've done one of these, so I thought I'd let you all know what we've been up to and some of the things you can expect in 1.0! For the past months we've been hard at work at getting Pit of Goblin to a 1.0 state. It has been a bit more work than anticipated (classic game dev saying) but we've have been some great progress the last month or so! We've re-written almost all code in the game to make it much more stable and more suited to handle all the new 1.0 features. So without further ado, here are some things you can expect in Pit of Goblin 1.0 launch! (Note that these images and features are work in progress too, things are subject to change!)Character Customization 3.0!With a new look, thumbnails for items and categories that can endlessly scroll, we hope this will be much easier to navigate and use than the previous version of the system! (Plus an upgrade to four accessory slots!)Customization Unlocks & AchievementsAchievements is coming to 1.0! Many achievements reward you with a cosmetic unlock for completing them. Many cool items to be earned here! Journal SystemWhat was that item I just now discovered? With the new journal system it will be easy to track your progress over what you have discovered in the game so far!New BiomesNew depths mean new places to explore! New EnemiesLook at the lad!! ... And more stuff!! (... Most likely!) We are aiming to release Pit of Goblin 1.0 later this year! OH! And a fun note! We just released a time-limited PIT OF GOBLIN Demo on Xbox Series X|S!If you wanna try out the game on a console, feel free to give it a whirl! The Xbox Demo also contains some features from this upcoming 1.0 update, like the new Character Customization system! Q: Why do these features appear on Xbox before Steam?A: We had use our latest branch of the game for Xbox, because it is the most optimized. We are targeting 60 FPS and older versions of the game was just too choppy on a console. We init...

    Patch 0.7.12

Here comes another little bug fix and tweak update that fixes some important issues! This patch is mostly bug fixes, we’re working full force on new content for the next big content update that’s coming in the future :D In the meantime we’ll keep making important fixes and improvements along the way.Hope you enjoy, and thanks for playing! AdditionsAdded an FOV slider to the settings. This has been a much requested little feature so we put some priority on it.Bug FixesGoblin Guards are now shown as goblins on the map instead of enemies. When a client placed a cog in the machinery, it would show up as 2 cogs inside each other, this has been fixed.Rewards would not be saved when quitting the game after feeding. The game now properly saves all reward chests so you don’t lose anything. The little feeding bucket in the feeding area that shows up in the In Between and when feeding King Queen no longer loses any item left in it when feeding is over and you left items in it.When dying and restarting the game without going back to the main menu, the cog that is given as a reward from the first feeding of King Queen sometimes wouldn’t spawn. It should now always spawn after the first feeding. The cog reward is just a bonus that you get after the first feeding, not every feeding.ChangesImproved some UI in the settings menu. Sliders now display numeric values for increased clarity.Any item that is in a shop will now show its name and description when you look at it, instead of showing up as undiscovered. If you inspect items in the shop they will also be flagged as discovered so you can see their name and description when you find them as loot.
