    Release!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce that we are releasing From Beyond from Early Access! Why was this done? Well, the main point of the game, that being the story, is completely implemented with this update, so I decided that it would be a good time to release the game. Because this is a sudden update, I'll keep the price of the game the same for one week. Afterwards, it will be increased a bit to fit the amount of time that the game takes to complete. While at it, why not join our socials to receive information about the works on the old and new projects in the series? Devlog: January 2025

Hello everyone! A lot of things happened since November of last year: the release of the game into Early Access, release of Ryn's route and a lot of behind-the-screen work. January was no exception for that rule, as I worked on the project pretty much every day. This is why I'm glad to show you all the overview of incoming changes, plans and developments. What's in the next update? The next update will bring us the final third part of the story, forever removing the (EA) from the dialogue options. The story will feature three extra endings, one of which is canon. Every ending comes with its own CG and has its own purpose of explaining certain things in the overarching story, so I'm excited to see what everyone will think of them. The build is currently being reviewed by me and my QA volunteers, so I hope to be able to deliver the update in the coming two weeks. Soon-to-come features and other nice-to-(must-)haves There are a few features that are in the works, like the CG gallery, music gallery and such. I didn't have the time to look into better ambient sounds though, so that is certainly something I want to do before implementing any other features. Same goes for the UI rework. I want to have these features/improvements in order to make players be able to experience the story even better than now. Planned DLC DLC is a scary thing, but worry not, this thing I have planned won't affect the game in any way. Honestly, I just wanted to make a small artbook featuring the CGs and the characters' sprites with a bit of commentary from the team. I don't have a price in mind just yet as there are still a lot of things that I have to add to the game itself. Conclusion There's still a lot of work ahead of us, but January proved to be a very productive month. A lot of decisions were made and the story is about to get its finale. All we need, is just a bit more time to review everything. Thanks for your time and we'll see each-other soon in the final part of the story of From Be...

    Update 2: Ryn Route

Hello everyone! Just after I made the announcement yesterday, the problems with verification were cleared up! So what do we have here? A fully implemented route Updated bits and pieces of old text It's worth redoing past routes now because new pieces of dialogue will change here and there depending on which routes you've cleared The route comes with a batch of new art So, what's next? I think it'll be important for me to take a rest for the remaining part of 2024, though I'm sure that I'll be working on other pieces within the project anyway. The next few updates should be focusing more on QoL, gui etc, but it's also possible that I'll just add the complete ending first. Whatever I end up doing, it should bring us closer to a more completed game. As for the page on itch, it should be set up soon, so more information will follow. Happy holidays, The WCoMF Team

Update(n't) 2 and Where it is

Hi everyone! I wanted to surprice everyone by releasing the update on the 22st of December, about two days before the announced date, so that everyone would be able to take their time with the new route. The reality is, however, that I can't release the update due to hiccups with Steam verification. I talked about the issue with Steam but we got nowhere so far, so I'm still waiting and hoping that it'll solve by itself, but I wonder if it will... That's why I'll make a page one itch as well! More information about that will be available soon. With that being said, I want to send a big 'thank you' to everyone who purchased the game so far! During the sale so far, we have more than doubled the amount of sales. I couldn't have asked for a better gift for Christmas, to be honest. The sale is going to continue for another week, so please tell your friends about this game as I'd love to share the stories of the world of WCoMF with as many people as possible. So, tldr: the update is there, but I can't release it due to difficulties with Steam verifications. I'm working on it, but there will be a page on itch because of that. I'm also very thankful for everyone who bought the game and hope that everyone enjoys the stories that we create. Thanks again, Merry Chrismas and a Happy New Year, The WCoMF Team

    Devlog: November 2024

Hello everyone! A month has passed since the release of the first version of the game. It was an exciting month, but also a very tiresome one. Thanks to our new proofreader, I was able to filter out a lot of spelling mistakes I made and improve the quality of the text somehow. In the future I hope to rely upon their expertise to make sure that there are no sneaky errors anywhere. Also, we got our theme track made! Please check it out on YouTube: Recently yet another member joined our team, so we're with four people now. All of the development and writing work still falls on me, so progress will be slow but steady. Currently I'm working on implementing Ryn's route, as well as trying to expand the existing story. The most important feature I'm working on right now, besides the new route, is how players would be able to get new information from completing a route and then retaking certain paths. When will the next update be? I... Don't know. As things are currently going, it might be possible to get everything done before the New Year's but nothing is certain. However! When it comes, it'll bring a lot of new stuff to the table: New route to complete New art for the new route Old locations to revisit after completing one or both routes Expanded and remade old scenes (the amount can vary depending on what we deem needed to remake) Even more mystery Final words I think that this is the place where I should say how thankful I am. After all, we sold more than 10 copies during November! While the number might appear small, I think that it's amazing that we got this many. WCoMF is a no-name project, so I hope that those who bought it enjoy the story I'm writing. Please share it around if you can so that even more people can dip their toes into the world of WCoMF. With that said, I want to bid you all farewell for the time. See you all once the new update is ready in late December or early January!
