About this game
It's time to burn some calories and dish out some slaps!
Shady humans, dim-witted mutant pigs, crazed knights, and more—all despise each other, but agree on one thing: making that hatred entertaining!
On the dusty ground of these devastated deserts, they invite you to join them in chaotic sports matches that’ll leave you scarred in less time than it takes to shout "ROUGH RIVALS!"
Be brutal: Choose from a roster of 20 characters to send crushing blows. And if you’re more of a tactician — which we call “coward” here — opt for a technical game of dodging and passing to outplay your opponent!
Be cunning: Between bouts of this chaos, organize your team, recruit and upgrade your players with a selection of 60 skills to create powerful synergies.
Be brutal AGAIN: Forget about justice, fair play, and the obscure rules of the ancient sport of American football. In the Scorched Wastes, there’s only one rule: bring the ball to the end zone and clear a path to get there!

Challenge your friends in split-screen to relive the good old couch gaming days, and bully your loved ones in a game where no one really gets hurt!

PATCH NOTE 1.2
Hello, rough rivals! This patch introduces Steam achievements and fixes several bugs listed below: It is no longer necessary to complete the tutorial to start the campaign. The level-up card selected when using a mouse and keyboard is now properly displayed. The ball should no longer go out of accessible bounds and respawn at the center of the field. Have fun, and see you soon for more (friendly) violence! Coro.Read full article on Community Announcements (JaimeLesPates)Patch NotesOfficial
MOUSE & KEYBOARD SUPPORT - PATCH 0.1
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45279076/ba84b809747c17e8ca15a9801a2e368696b104c3.jpg Hello there! This is Patch Note 0.1! A week after the release of Rough Rivals, I’m thrilled to share several updates with you. KEYBOARD & MOUSE SUPPORT + ACCESSIBILITY With this patch, I’ve finally added keyboard and mouse support, as requested by many players eager to jump onto the field! After the silly mistake of launching the game with controller-only support, this has now been fixed! I’ll also address some accessibility issues encountered by certain players. Device switching is now handled automatically, and the in-game icons should display correctly when switching devices. Split-screen mode is still available, but only one keyboard and mouse setup can be used. Your teammate will need to use a controller! Steam Deck support is confirmed, although Steam may take some time to reflect this on the store page. Steam Input is not supported on Linux or Steam Deck. To ensure the correct symbols and icons are displayed, disable Steam Input for this game by following these steps: Right-click the game in your library, select Properties, go to the controller section, set it to Disable Steam Input If you encounter issues while switching devices after the main menu has loaded (beyond the start menu), restart the game and register your preferred device at the start menu. BUG FIXES Some minor bugs were identified thanks to your reports. Here’s what’s been addressed: During the tutorial, allies will no longer accidentally pick up the ball before you’re instructed to pass it, which previously prevented progress. In split-screen mode, the display of remaining money (teeth) will now show the correct amounts for both players. That’s all for today! Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. I’m continuing to work on the game to ensure the best possible experience for everyone. Thanks again for joining me on the field—see you soon for more action!Read full article on Community Announcements (JaimeLesPates)
