REVEAL: A Game About Digging A Hole™ Together
A Game About Digging a Hole Together is real Hey everyone, Ben here! Last year I released A Game About Digging a Hole, a small game I built in just a few weeks as a fun side project while I was mainly working on Solarpunk. I genuinely never expected it to become what it did. Seeing so many people play the game, share videos and just have fun with this little project has been completely surreal.Thank you to everyone who played it and supported me. You genuinely changed my life. ❤️ You wanted to dig moreAfter release, there were two things I kept hearing from you again and again: “We want more to do” and “LET US DIG WITH FRIENDS!” https://store.steampowered.com/app/4018610/A_Game_About_Digging_A_Hole_Together/ So I started thinking about what a second game could look like. I eventually decided to hand development over to my friends at Mi'Pu'Mi Games, who already worked on the console versions of A Game About Digging a Hole and Solarpunk. The goal was pretty simple: Keep the accessible, minimalist formula of the original game, but make everything around it bigger and better. There was just one small problem. The code of the first game was... not exactly built with a sequel in mind. 😅 So Mipumi basically had to rebuild the game from scratch. That also gave us the opportunity to properly build multiplayer, add crossplay and create a foundation that works across all platforms from day one. So, what's new?A Game About Digging a Hole Together keeps the simple idea of the original game, but gives you much more to discover.Online co op for up to four playersCrossplayA bigger world with more playtime per runMultiple terrain typesFour tool categories with more upgradesMore things to discover and collect undergroundA completely new beach settingCollectibles to find and complete your collection back at the beachMore replayabilityPlenty of quality of life improvementsYou can still play alone if you just want some peaceful digging time.P.S.My favorite thing that happened after the ...Read full article on Community Announcements (roka_robert)AnnouncementsOfficial
Solarpunk is out now, my new Game!
Hey everyone,I want to use this quick update to highlight Solarpunk, the game I have been mainly working on before and after A Game About Digging A Hole. Before A Game About Digging A Hole became the surprise hit many of you know today, I was already working on Solarpunk as my main project.Fun fact: the original idea for A Game About Digging A Hole actually started as an experimental feature in Solarpunk. We tested digging during development, but later removed it because it did not fit the direction of the game.I kept experimenting with the idea in my free time, and that small side project eventually became A Game About Digging A Hole. Now, Solarpunk, the much bigger project I have been working on, is available on Steam. It is a survival crafting game about exploring floating islands, building your own home in the sky, farming, automation, renewable energy, and travelling with your airship. If you enjoyed A Game About Digging A Hole, please consider checking out Solarpunk on Steam.A Game About Digging A Hole News?As for what comes next for A Game About Digging A Hole, we will probably have more to share later this year.Thank you for your support!Read full article on Community Announcements (roka_adrian)Patch NotesOfficial
