About this game

Have you ever wanted to DRIFT MONKEYS?? If so, this just might be the game for you!

In Banana Blitz, chaos reigns as you and your online friends race as speedy monkeys in an action-packed competition to steal and claim the idol. In a world filled with crazy gadgets and unpredictable obstacles, reaching the goal isn't easy—especially when your friends are determined to stab you in the back! Equipped with explosive trip mines, freezing rays, and other wild power-ups, you'll have to sabotage your rivals while navigating courses full of twists, turns, hazards, and other animals out to get you.

What makes each race even more unpredictable are the random curse modifiers that affect every run—whether it’s suddenly having a massive head, being nearsighted, or dodging homing mushrooms, each modifier changes the race in surprising ways.

Banana Blitz is an exclusively online multiplayer running game where players must use their wits and reflexes to outrun, outsmart, and backstab their friends to be the first to reach the finish. Set traps, unleash chaos, and steal the idol at the last second as you battle for supremacy in thrilling, fast-paced races.

Key Features:

  • Online multiplayer: Compete against up to four of your friends in chaotic races to reach the idol.

  • Random curse modifiers: No two runs are the same as different combinations of curse modifiers create wild outcomes.

  • Use crazy items: Sabotage your rivals with pogo sticks, Minefields, and other fun gadgets.

  • Fast-paced, first-person action: Feel the speed and chaos as you dash, dodge, and jump through unpredictable levels.

  • Dynamic races: Only one player can hold the idol at a time—steal it before it’s too late!

  • Unpredictable outcomes: Every race is full of twists and surprises with explosions, item use, and unpredictable environments through a combination of hand crafted and procedurally generated levels.

  • Ultra wide support & playable with Xbox + PlayStation controllers!

Get ready for a frenzied, fun-filled race to the finish as you try to outmaneuver and out-sabotage your friends. Welcome to Banana Blitz!

    Small Quality Of Life Update

A suggestion we received from our discord suggested we add a button that copies the lobby code so they don't have to type it out which we thought was genius! We've added: - a button in the lobby that copies the lobby code to clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere to your hearts content - The lobby code is now hidden by default, but with a button that when pressed shows it or hides it. This way if you are screen sharing or streaming people won't just swarm your lobby If you have any other suggestions, be sure to join our discord and let us know! In other news, we've started our next game a few weeks ago! It's going to be a 2D single player roguelike auto battler with some idler mechanics. Our goals for this project is to set up an online leaderboard, steam achievements, and create an expansive ability system for you all to experiment with! In case you want to follow a long, be sure to check out our socials: Youtube Tik Tok Twitter Instagram Or if you are feeling like you want to support us even more, we now have a Patreon (Sleeper Build Dev)!

In game chat and a few more bug fixes!

The main highlight of this patch is a new in game chat that can be accessed in the shop by pressing tab to open it, then press enter to start typing. We are testing it out though, so with your feedback we will be improving it on how you all think we should! Apart from this, we also fixed a few more small things we noticed: Improvements to wording in tutorial Some controller graphics was incorrect in the settings Token item was broken (I did this with last patch, whoops) A few controller improvements Increased ghost landmine cooldown for balancing reasons

    Post Release Bug Fixes

We really appreciate all the positive reception we got on the first day and it was a ton of fun to play with everyone! Below are some of the things we noticed yesterday that snuck by use before release. If you notice anything else off, either broken or balanced poorly, please reach out to use on the steam community forums or our Discord! Bugs Fixed The waypoints for some of the caves being incorrect for the wall causing it to stop prematurely Fixed Idol not scoring when nakey is activated and held by client, then that client is given the idol to hold Fixed Sign in shop hiding the name of the roller for clients after it gets rolled once Fixed Ready up can get inverted if client readies up while game is starting Fixed Boombox breaking the items after tripping with another boombox in inventory if they are next to each other in inventory and in a specific orientation (Don’t ask). This also caused some other items to break if this happened, so all those are fixed now too. Fixed Host can buy items in first shop but clients cannot Changed give card name in shop to curse wand Fixed Trip mine desc grammer Fixed blackout curse description Fixed mine description Fixed Hot potato collider blocking guns Balancing Distance from where you can place traps as ghost Make immune while frozen from respawn and speed up a little (from chameleon too) Reduce trip mine card activation Turned off comeback speed boost when wall is disabled Additions & Changes Sfx when someone joins lobby Change eye laser particle color And in case you missed it, here is kind of a recap of our development process!
