In SCP: Retrieval, join a Mobile Task Force unit tasked with retrieving anomalous entities after breaches in this intense early access action horror experience from Arcsteel Games.

About this game

In SCP: Retrieval, up to five players work together to complete objectives and contain a dangerous SCP.

Each match takes place on a handcrafted map where players must complete tasks such as retrieving items, destroying targets, or eliminating threats. Once all objectives are done, the final challenge is to locate and contain the SCP in the area.

Players start in a van, which acts as a mobile command center. Inside, a surveillance system lets them monitor teammates, check security cameras, and even tap into hostile feeds to track enemy movements.

Teamwork is crucial—communicate, plan your approach, and stay alert. Some missions will require stealth, while others may turn into all-out combat. The SCPs you face are unpredictable, and underestimating them can be fatal. If all players die, the mission fails. If they succeed, they secure the site and win the match.

With each successful retrieval, new challenges and more dangerous anomalies await!

    SCP: Retrieval is coming back

Hello everyone!Proud to say that we will be soon coming out with version 1.0.0 of SCP: Retrieval! We've been hard at work with our studies, but always kept in mind our project. Since we finished our bachelor's degrees, we're getting ready to proceed with huge enhancements to the game. Most likely we will soon get into beta-testing of the full game, we will let you know on our Discord when that is ready. What can you expect?Upgraded graphics and optimizationsWe've reworked SCP: Retrieval from the ground up, with new knowledge from different projects and mainly, from the development of Retrieval itself. With the help of Unreal Engine 5, we have been able to squeeze the most out of performance/looks ratio, so the game will be running more smoothly and will look alot better.New generated mapsOur big disadvantage in earlier versions of SCP: Retrieval was the lack of maps, and to be honest, they weren't very good as well. We have decided that all maps in Retrieval will be procedurally generated, meaning you can explore new stuff even in the locations you may already know! And that brings us to...Complete gameplay overhaulSCP: Retrieval missions and objectives were kinda monotone, sometimes hard to understand or accomplish. We plan to implement a lobby progression system, so that you actually get something from missions accomplished, the gameplay loop will be more alive as well, but that will be revealed later...So far, I would say we're on a good path with Retrieval, but feedback from players is the most important thing we can get, so if you have any ideas on maps, items, or SCPs themselves, let us know on our Discord! With that being said, I can't really give any real concrete date when will the beta testing start or when will the full game release, but we're hoping to get it all done by the end of summer.Hope you're excited for the update as much as we are! See ya in the next post ːsteamhappyː

    Patch 0.4.2

Hi everybody, we've prepared a small patch with some bugfixes and minor additions. Reworked weapon animations You are now able to aim through your weapon's iron sights. Keep in mind that while aiming, the bullets actually fly out of the barrel, so you still have to account for recoil! Fixed SCP-082 sometimes refusing to follow players when handcuffed. Fixed clients not hearing / seeing Chaos Insurgency gunshots. FIXED MULTIPLAYER JANK / RUBBERBANDING / JITTER! FINALLY! As always, keep in mind that we're in Early Access, which means you will likely meet some bugs during your playthrough. We are always listening! Have an idea for the game? Make sure to tell us on our Discord!

The Gameplay Overhaul Update is here!

The Gameplay Overhaul Update (0.4.0) We have finally released the long-awaited update we have been promising for quite a while now! We apologize for the slight delay, but unfortunately, we're just two college students developing the game in our free time, and we lately didn't have much time to work on the game due to our final exams. However the update is here, and with it, we have made major changes in the entire gameplay loop. We have tried to take most of the players' complaints into account, and reworked the game to be more user-friendly with a ton of new quality of life features. Major Changes We have removed the Facility Map, and both of the Story Missions until they're finished. We probably didn't make it clear enough on the Steam page that the story missions were still being worked on, and we apologize for that. All mentions of Story Missions have been removed from the Steam Page until they are all fully implemented, after which we will add them back. The Endless gameplay loop has been completely reworked From now on, only one SCP (or group of SCPs if it's a multi-instance one) will spawn per map. This SCP will actively look for victims, walking nearby the squad, increasing your chances of encountering it. At the start of the game, you will have no means of containing the SCP. Your commander will give you instructions to secure the area before containment itself can take place. Once you complete all the tasks and secure the area, you will be given an item required to neutralize and recontain the SCP. The tasks include escorting civilians out, eliminating Chaos Insurgency patrols or rescuing a Foundation Researcher. Most SCPs have been reworked and rebalanced to account for only one spawning per match. A compass has been added to the HUD, pointing towards objectives. Minor Changes and Bugfixes Added settings options for changing the master volume, voice chat volume, mouse senstivity and screen resolutions. Fixed a bug where the game would reset your graphics ...
