About the Game

Gravebind is a classic isometric (2.5d) open world adventure RPG, while also planning to provide MMORPG and private multiplayer server modes, that will take you back to the 1990s, the golden age of gaming. If you are a fan of PC based RPGs of that era then you will likely fall in love with the nostalgia of this game. Enjoy a customizable character both visually and skillfully with an expanding set of skills to help aid you through a number of quests and exploration activities that the game has to offer in early access.

The story will take you through a medieval fantasy world that is approaching an apocalypse, blood moons send warning of coming evil and darkness. While trying to get away from the desolation of your own homeland you boarded a ship hoping to escape danger but instead storms at sea have forced your arrival in the mystical land known as Moonhaven; your destiny awaits you here! Arriving as just a stranger in this land you can progress through a series of quests that will gradually help you become the centerpiece in the story. Some quests will offer decision points and different ways to complete them that will affect future planned story parts.

One of the unique features Gravebind has to offer is the ability to customize various settings for your game world to adjust difficulty and offer greater re-playability. You can scale things like economics, quest difficulty, drop rates and we have plans to allow you to tailor the game play experience for how you may like to play an RPG.

Some of the other things we have planned for Gravebind are crafting, player customizable housing, 20 – 30 quests planned for this first chapter of the game with plans to offer purchasable game expansions for additional story and area of the game.

We plan to provide the private server multiplayer and public MMORPG open world server(s) for the game in the not to distant future once the single player mode features for the first chapter are complete, much of our development has been mindful of these modes and predeveloped to support them so that implementation will hopefully be quicker when the time comes.

We hope to provide you with regular game updates that will add features as we progress through the development of this game and we look forward to hearing your feedback as we add new features.

Here are the features we plan to provide at early access launch:

+Carpentry Crafting Skill Implemented -Carpentry allows players to craft weapons, armor, tools, and furnishings out of wood. -Four different wood types are now available to craft from including: Maple, Cedar, Oak, and Yew. These wood types can now be collected from various areas on the map in forests using the Lumberjacking skill. Note that individual tree appearance does not affect the type of wood received. -Apprenticeship for max skill 50 - 60 initially available. 60 - 70 will be available in the next patch. Apprenticeships available at any Carpenter vendor. -Work orders can be completed for carpentry just as the other crafting skills. -Eight new furnishings available to be crafted with Carpentry. These furnishings are only available via crafting and cannot be purchased. -Mallets and Handsaws can be purchased to work with carpentry. Gravebind One Year Update

Over the past year we accomplished a lot and introduced a lot of new content for players to enjoy. While we didn’t complete the full phase two map, we completed a large number of items on the list and some especially key ones. So below I want to walk through what we got done and then where we didn’t quite meet our own expectations and some challenges we ran into and how our focus will be adjusted over the coming months and year. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45669913/6d9a3927526c35b69c1fcb70bd7e36f2cf23280e.png What we got done Introducing Multiplayer: We got an MMO mode implemented in late winter and have spent a lot of time focusing on that over the past several months. I think the players that have engaged in it have found the play experience to be fun with a few repeatable quests and an open world feel. We will continue to expand the world and functionality of the MMO mode. Custom Player Housing: Another important area to the game and to us personally was customizable player housing. We implemented a system that has allowed players to purchase a property, design and construct their own houses. Overall, the feedback has been positive and players have enjoyed this feature. We continue to add new property locations for players to purchase as the existing properties get bought up. Additionally, we look to continue to expand the housing system with new pieces for players to experiment with as well as new furnishings. The Carpentry skill will also add some new unique pieces for players to construct themselves.New Explorable Areas and Monsters: We added several new areas for players to explore and enjoy over the past year as well as introducing numerous monsters. New areas include West Brimstone an ruined town overrun by orcs, an orc fort, lower levels of the mines filled with new kinds of dangerous monsters including a dragon as well as most recently introducing the catacombs an extension from the crypts that leads under the forest to the lower level of the mines with new kinds ...

0.12.3 Catacombs, Implosion Spell, New Mini Quest + New Monsters!

+New Catacomb Areas added -This patch features a new catacombs area which can be reached from either level 1 of the crypts or level 3 of the mines. The catacombs area runs underneath the mystic woodland connecting the mines and crypts. -Backstory: The area is primarily a burial ground for the sick and poorer townsfolk of moon haven. The forest's magic also has played into some of the strange undead you will find in the catacombs! Since the first blood moon a demon has been unleashed into the catacombs that feeds on blood and death. -New added to the catacombs, while exploring and fighting monsters in the catacombs you will quickly figure out how you can summon and fight the boss, Root Rot an ancient abomination beginning to corrupt the roots of the mystic woodland. Though it may take you a bit longer to figure out the best way to defeat him. You may complete this quest in single player or multiplayer... It can be completed once every 24 hours (Real time). -The also features, zombie mutants, zombie lepers and plague slimes. You'll also run into some other undead favorites in there in different combinations. -The area also features numerous locked chests which can only be picked with the lockpicking skill. -I am also trying something new with spawns in containers allowing very wide range of objects to spawn in coffins and chests rather than a more limited define range of items. So as a result this area's containers will feature chests that might have junk or very high end treasure and magic items. -A new spell was also added for the Root Rot boss, called Implosion, this spell is also available to players to find (not buy). The new spell deals a medium to high amount of evil damage and if an opponent is at 25% of their total life or less, it has a chance to just cause them to implode and their corpse parts go flying along with their loot. +More World Decoration, Areas and Spawns! -Hydro worked hard on adding even more world decoration and spawns to the overworld and I ...

0.12.2 World Beautification & Server Reliability Improvements

-Hydro one of our dedicated alpha players helped bring you this update, he worked on detailing and beautifying some of the world play environment and will continue to work on more of the overworld areas in future updates. You will notice a more lush environment on the overworld. A special thanks to Hydro for keeping things moving this month. -This update also includes a fix for a bug I noticed while I was away earlier this month that prevented the server from saving due to a cascading set of failures. This issue should be addressed in this update. Among other news, I am continuing to work on more functional updates to crafting and new areas. I apologize for the delay but as mentioned I was away for a portion of the month and its been busy between catching a cold and catching up with my day job. I hope to be back on a more consistent routine after the 4th of July holiday here. Most notably I am working on adding a new catacomb area with some new monsters, spells and also working on lumberjacking, and carpentry. Hope to have an update for some or all of that soon. Take care and thanks for reading! Chris The Avatar
