Playtest done
I'm finally calling the end of the playtest. I got a lot of great feedback that will help me make a better game in the end. Thanks to everybody who's been part of it! There will be other ones in the future for sure (and eventually a demo), but now it's time to use all that feedback to improve the game!Read full article on Community Announcements (Mullet Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
Storm Settlers' playtest starting right now!
I've been hard at work improving the mid to late game of Storm Settlers, which makes it a perfect time to ask for playtesters! Starting right now (and for a couple of weeks), anybody who joins the discord server and ask for a beta key will receive one. https://discord.gg/qp9u9dmXYG The goal is to get everybody's feedback so I can make the best possible game! Thanks to everyone taking part, your help is much appreciated! I also made a short devlog about the latest additions if you are interested:Read full article on Community Announcements (Mullet Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
2 years, explorers, grass and water
Hello everyone! At the end of last year I posted a recap video of the last 2 years working on Storm Settlers, if you want to take a little peak behind the curtains: Since then, I've kept working on the game. I improved the explorer's mechanic, new unlockable techs and options with it. Another thing that was bothering me was that some resources could be produced infinitely, making it very hard to balance the game. So now grass and water slowly runs out as the tiles are exploited by building, adding a bit more management for the player for grass and more reasons to explorer the desert to find new patches of water. It's not crazy hard, but it will give a little bit more things for the player to care about. I also worked on the water art to first make it animated, but it also moves toward the wind coming from the next storm. It's part of my effort for the mood of the game being centered around wind, so I want a LOT more things waving in the wind. And still a lot more new stuff in preparation for the playtest somewhere in early spring!Read full article on Community Announcements (Mullet Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
Addressing Playtest Feedback
Hello everyone ! Before adding new content, I made it sure to tackle the feedback from the last playtest and made a devlog about it: I’m super happy with the progress of the game, improving what already exists to leave the game in a way better state before I add new content. So now that it’s done, it’s time to look ahead toward the new content ! Of course, this new content will disturb the game mechanics and will also need its own wave of playtest to be sure to be the best it can. Based on my planning, I should be done by March 2026, where I’ll hold a new closed playtest. It’s still closed for now because the point of it is to receive feedback, not necessarily to advertise the game (yet), but don’t worry, everybody who asks will get a key ! If you want to take part in the next playtest, come hang out on the game's discord server where most of the playtest interactions happen:https://discord.gg/qp9u9dmXYG Otherwise, I’ll most likely post again here to let everybody know when it’s playtest time !Read full article on Community Announcements (Mullet Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Update on work done on the game.
Hi ! I'm the dev of Storm Settlers. I wanted to give you a little update on the work currently done on the game. After releasing the steam page, I put on my producer hat and made a big planif, noting every single tasks needed to reach the final release and giving them a time evaluation.I also divided those task for what would be needed to be worth a new playtest, but before I can announce the next playtest date based on those evaluations, I want to tackle everything that is left to do based on the feedback on the previous playtest. There's still a couple of tasks to do and I don't want to waste anybody's time by going through new playtests when I'm not even done fixing what needed to be fixed from the previous one.So I got a couple small tasks, mostly quality of life stuff, I want to tackle, which will allow me to see how accurate my time estimates are and then I'll reevaluate what needs to be done for the next playtests and probably announce a date for the next playtest. If you want to take part in the next playtest, come hang out on the game's discord server where most of the playtest interactions happen: https://discord.gg/qp9u9dmXYGExpect to hear again from me in about a month-ish, after I'm done will all those tasks !Read full article on Community Announcements (Mullet Games)
