Manage a unique tavern where guests include beetles and knights. Craft unusual dishes like beetle juice and knight thighs in this hand-drawn simulation RPG from Z'SERCA STUDIO.
About this game

Become the owner of a tavern for monsters in a simulation RPG game infused with absurd black humor and real stories drawn from over a decade of experience running a board game bar. In Monsterful Tavern, you can cook knights, serve Whiskey on the Balls, upgrade your venue, and explore underground dungeons in search of the finest ingredients. The tavern is not just a kitchen and bar; it also features an underground farm, a barn, a slaughterhouse, and even a breeding ground for carnivorous bees!

Cook a Bughetti and mix a Bloody Martini to satisfy your monster guests. You will get to squeeze out beetle juice, chop up magic mushrooms and fry the tastiest parts of knight in immersive minigames that will make you experience the monsterful tavern as if you were actually there!

Use the prepared drinks and dishes to feed your guests in an immersive gameplay inspired by turn-based RPGs. Serve orcs, trolls, vampires and other monsters, with their individual tastes and quirks of character, which have a direct impact on gameplay. If you do well, your pouch will overflow with eyes – the currency of Undernests.

Explore Undernests, an underground city located among stalagnate constellations, constantly plagued by knights' raids. Meet its unique inhabitants, visit the goblin workshop, pray at the Temple of the Big Round Troll, spend a night at the house of ill repute owned by Lady Grey, the vampire, and play a "Castles&Knights" RPG campaign with your old friend. Your actions will leave a lasting impact on Undernests, but will it be for the better?

Sit back and let us tell you what Monsterful Tavern is ┌(◉ ͜ʖ◉)つ
Monsterful Tavern is a game mainly about a half-troll, half-orc bartender, his tavern*, and its place in The Undernests - an underground monster city. Expect lots of chopping, frying, cooking, building ovens, and hiring goblins, your tavern staff. It’s a proper simRPG (think Stardew Valley meets Graveyard Keeper). Well… almost, because alongside mushrooms you’ll be chopping knight’s legs and squeezing juice out of their… well, you get it. * why a tavern? Lots of reasons, but mainly because our designer has run a board game cafe for years so we know all "running a tavern" secrets from inside out. Let’s take a step back - there’s one big twist we made to this beloved formula. We felt this genre was missing something: a way for your dishes and decor to actually matter in the gameplay. Not just “make X burgers with Y because the quest says so.” We wanted your menu choices - whether you serve Bugyu Ramen or Bughetti - and how you decorate your tavern to have real impact on game mechanics. To pull that off, we added a deck-building layer. Every dish has its own properties, every customer has preferences, and whether you brew a chili lager or a worm ale can make your evening service smoother… or a glorious disaster. Our playtesters love it, and we hope you will too. One more thing. The tavern is the social hub of The Undernests, so Monsterful Tavern won’t skimp on funny - and not so funny - stories tied to exploring this monster metropolis. You’ll find a goblin-run workshop, an underground megacorp, and even a vampire brothel where the currency isn’t eyes*, but your own blood. The Undernests itself deserves its own post - so stay tuned!* In our game, the currency is the eyes of your enemies (knights) who invade The Undernests.Read full article on Community Announcements (zsercastudio)AnnouncementsOfficial
We’ve just finished baking the Temple of the Great Round Troll!
Hi!This is our first update, so it’s time to say HELLO officially. We are Z’serca Studio (which in our mother tongue literally means "from the heart"), a very small team making a project that excite us to the core. We hope it’ll excite you too. Monsterful Tavern is a tavern game — but it’s not just about the tavern. We’re building an entire underground city for you, the Undernests, a living place full of extraordinary residents and surprising secrets. We’ve just finished baking the Temple of the Great Round Troll. The monsters of the Undernests believe that decades ago the Great Round Troll covered the sun, allowing them to crawl to the surface without fear of mortal burns. Today they pray to the Great Round Troll, waiting for his return. Who is the Great Round Troll? Does he even exist? What secrets does the temple hide? Are the faithful good customers? You’ll find out after the release ;)Until next time!Read full article on Community Announcements (zsercastudio)
