About this game

Relics is a fast-paced, accessible collectible card game with a rougelite twist. In this game, you will lead a group of explorers, competing against others for ancient treasures called Relics. Play against bots or compete against real players; it is up to you.

Unlike most collectible card games, Relics is designed to be accessible for newcomers. Anyone can pick it up in less than a minute:
Each round consists of 5 turns.
On each turn, each player draws a card.
To end their turn, the player must Play a card. Besides playing cards, the player can perform optional actions: Discard and Cast Spell.
After 5 turns, the round ends. The player with the highest score wins the round. They also get to take a Relic and use its power in their favor.
Whoever wins 3 rounds wins the game.
Despite its simplicity at first glance, the game has plenty of unique mechanics to keep veterans on their toes. Cards have their own keyword that requires skillful plays to utilize properly. Combine that with a unique mana system for spell casting, and you get an experience that is like no others.

Building a deck is quite simple. Select a faction, then start adding cards into your deck. A valid deck must contain 12 cards with the total cost less than or equal to 60. The stronger a card is, the more expensive it is. So think wisely when you add cards to your deck.
Most cards are compatible with two different Factions. So, if you like a card but are not a fan of the current Faction, you can change the Faction of your deck and keep that card in the deck. The possibilities are endless. Feel free and be creative!

Players gain Experience Points for playing the game. And when they accumulate enough points, they level up and gain an Unlock Token. You can unlock new cards from an ever-expanding pool with these tokens. In this game, you get what you want simply by playing. If you are a beginner, feel free to unlock cards with mechanics that you are familiar with. If you are a veteran, perhaps you would like to try out new archetypes. The choice is yours.
The game also features a mission system that rewards players for their creativity. By experimenting with different archetypes, players can complete these additional missions to get extra Experience Points to progress even faster.

No battle is the same. Every battle has its own set of Relics, which requires the player to think differently every time.
Single player Game Mode.
Multiplayer Game Mode.
3 Different Factions, each with its own unique playstyle.
20+ Different Relics.
150+ Collectible Cards.
80+ Hours to complete the game.

Faction Spotlight: The Ironhearts
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45207674/776c89f6adbedec84e027be68abdaa21e29c9a6a.png Overview No matter how strong the enemy is, the Ironhearts always persist and comeback stronger than before. This faction specializes in reacting to the enemy, offensively and defensively. They can bring the strongest enemy to their knees with their Stun. Or if things get dire, they can buff the cards on hand to make the next round easier for you. Flexibility is their strength, but their plan takes time to prepare. To make the most out of this faction, you have to think far ahead and know when to give up on a round. Notable Action: Stun This is the bread and butter of this Faction. Stun reduces target enemy's Power to 1, crippled them for good. No matter how strong the enemy unit is, a well-timed Stun can bring them down, and ensure your victory. However, you can only stun the enemy unit, so the enemy still can Boost to increase their Power. Use your Stun wisely. Notable Keyword: Focus To trigger the effect of cards with Focus keyword, you have to wait for at least one round before playing this. If you think you cannot win this round, stack cards with Focus keyword on your hand for a spectacular comeback on the next round. Let's see them in action Despite the enemy has put down very powerful units on the board, the Ironhearts make quick work of them. With 2 stuns, they managed to win a decisive victory. But to do all of this require a bit of planning. The first card has "Exile: Stun the strongest enemy on the board", so it is rather easy to use. But the second one is trickier. It has "Rush: Stun the last enemy", In the clip, the opponent misplayed by playing a high power unit on their attacking turn. In Relics, players get their attacking turn back and forth. This is indicated by the sword and shield token at the edge of their respective boards. And whoever has the attacking token will reveal their unit first. The opponent played their strong card on their attacking turn. So on the player's nex...Read full article on Community Announcements (hsnguyen.unity)AnnouncementsOfficial
Faction Spotlight: The Berserkers
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45207674/6b6419d04eeea72f008088a782958fec8492460c.png Overview No faction can come close to the Berserkers when it comes to dominate the early game. This faction specializes in bringing raw power to the table. But this great power comes at a cost. The Berserkers tend to harm themselves during their frenzy. Their power wanes overtime, so they have to end the game as soon as possible. Notable Keyword: Exile Exile is really simple. You trigger its effect the first time you play it. That's it. But that is also its biggest draw back. Once they are played, they become significantly weaker. The longer the game drags on, the more you feel their weight. But on the bright side, their ability are extremely powerful, and they can win a round for you on their own. So think carefully whenever you play them. Notable Keyword: Rush To trigger the effect of cards with Rush keyword, the card must be at either the right most position or the left most position of your hand when you play it. This means you can always trigger its effect by playing it on the turn you draw it. But most of the time, this wouldn't be optimal, as most cards with Rush requires some set up to get the most out of their value. If you wish so, then you have to play / discard every other card on your hand until it reaches the left most position of your hand. Use it immediately ? Or use it after you have set everything up ? The choice is yours. Let's see a basic combo In this video, with the combination of a small hand size, a simple spell and two Rush cards, the player managed to outwit the opponent. By reducing their own hand size, the player makes sure that the first card and the spell would buff the second card. And on the next turn, that very card triggers its own effect "Rush: Double my Power", turning itself into a whopping 18 Power unit and win the round. The enemy stands no chance, despite having so many cards on their hand. That's it for today, folk. There are plenty of other mechanics fo...Read full article on Community Announcements (hsnguyen.unity)AnnouncementsOfficial
Gameplay Preview #1: How to play Relics
How to play The rule of the game is extremely simple: At the beginning of the game, each player draws three cards. At the beginning of every turn, each player draws draw one card. To end their turn, players have to play one card from their hand. It will add its value to the Total Power of that player. After both players end their turn, the played cards are revealed, and a new turn begins. After 5 turns, the round ends. The player with the most Total Power wins the round and collects a Relic for themselves. The cards on the board are discarded, and a new round begins. Whoever wins 3 rounds wins the game. While the rule is simple at first glance, the game has a few neat mechanics to spice things up. Each player can perform two additional action before playing a card to end their turn: Boost and Cast Spell. Boost Players can discard any card on their hand to add 3 Power to their Total Power for this round. This action is called Boost. You must have at least 2 cards on hand to be able to boost one of them. Boost is a powerful to gain extra Power to turn the table in clutch situation, but it is also a double-edge sword and must be used wisely. Each player starts the game with 3 cards on their hand. Boosting reduces the number of cards on their hand. So normally, each player can only boost 3 times in one game. Boost too much, and you will find yourself with only one card left on hand, and you have no choice but to play whatever card you draw. You will completely lose control of your strategy. So think before you boost. Spell and Mana Each player starts the game with 5 mana gem on their board. With these, players can cast powerful spells. But there is a twist to this to this mana system. Whenever a player plays a card, that card will cover a mana gem on the board, preventing them from using it for this round. So, on the first turn of the round, you can access to 5 mana. On the second turn of the round, you can access to 4 mana. Keep that going, and on the fifth turn of the...Read full article on Community Announcements (hsnguyen.unity)AnnouncementsOfficial

Introducing: Relics - The Card Game
The Developer Hi, everyone. Welcome to my humble hub. I'm a solo developer from Vietnam and I run an indie studio named Double EXP. I'm quite new to all of this, but I am fiercely passionate about video game. I always aim to deliver the most innovative games to you. Today, I'm honored to introduce my most ambitious project up to date: Relics - The Card Game. The Game {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45207674/582ce8b756bb9a3992a801342f775cf82d05cc7d.png Relics - The Card Game is a collectible card game about treasure hunting. In this game, you will form a group of explorers to compete against others for ancient artifacts called Relics. Gameplay-wise, Relics was inspired by both the classics and the new ones of the genre. The game also has a small touch of rougelike element. The result is a unique experience that is approachable, yet deep and strategic. Graphic-wise, Child of Light and Gris were the greatest inspiration for the game. The game fully commits to the watercolor aesthetic. And I hope you will see how much love was put into the game. Collecting Cards {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45207674/2ee98c36982a36d94f83a2bf278bc4e0ba0b99d0.png Players can unlock new cards upon leveling up, and they can choose what they want to unlock from an ever-expanding pool.
