About this game

Explore the frontier lands.
Venture through dusty desert bluffs, snow-capped mountains, and the shadowy ruins of ancient cult hideouts. Battle ruthless outlaws in campaign missions, high-stakes elimination contracts, and relentless wave-based survival challenges. But the outlaws aren’t the only danger—a mysterious cult faction lurks beneath the surface. Unlock new weapons through use in combat, and customize your experience with four selectable difficulty levels.
Choose the weaponry that suits you.
Whether you prefer the accuracy of a rifle, the close-range power of a shotgun, or the speed of sidearms, your weapons shape how you fight. Each class has multiple variants to suit different approaches. From the solid hit of a crossbow to the sheer volume of a Gatling gun, you'll have plenty of hot lead dispensers to choose from. You can even dual-wield sidearms if you want to trade precision for raw firepower.
The outlaws' bullets are fast, but you’re faster.
Use bullet time to line up your shots. Sprint and dash to stay mobile, keeping pressure where it hurts. Swap weapons on the fly to always have the right tool for the job. During a reload, mashing the reload key speeds it up, and every second counts when you’re under fire. You’re equipped for the fight. The rest is up to you.

Update 10 — Town Hub, New Missions, and New Weapons
The town update is finally here! This took longer than expected due to several crash bugs that required extensive troubleshooting, fixing, and then more testing of the fixes. What started out as a relatively simple mission and gun update has grown into a minor reworking of the game's structure. My goal is to provide a better framework for the game as a whole so I can add new varieties of content never before seen in Saloonery. Hope you all enjoy! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45550101/cf25b8e0aadc1464266f5f6287df2787f7b54a13.gif Town The town is filled with NPCs to talk to, side-quests of take on, and money chests to find Now instead of returning to the map screen after a mission, you return directly to the town There are four Town Missions currently. More to come in the future! Head Hunter Missions Note: These missions can be found as Side Missions for levels 4, 7, and 8 Three new Head Hunter missions. Hunt down more powerful versions of existing enemies, and once you've taken them out, you'll need to make your way to the exit while dealing with additional enemies that spawn to block your escape. These missions feature larger, more connected variants of existing maps. Revamped Weapon Selection Menu The player's weapon loadout is now chosen in town from a weapon box Each weapon category now has their own sub-menu so there's more room to display important info and more room to add additional weapons in the future Each weapon now has a description to go along with it Money You can now find money hidden in chests throughout levels, and can earn it by completing Town Missions. Money can be spent on guns, so far New Guns Note: These guns can be purchased from the shop in town Leadpumper pump-action shotgun — A powerful all-around shotgun Bolt Pistol sidearm — A punchy projectile-based rapid-fire pistol that fires molten hot bolts Utility Weapons Utility Weapons are a new category of quick-use abilities Bound to 'V' by default on keyboard, and Right Bumper on controllers Huntin' Kni...Read full article on Community Announcements (Bow Tie Cat)Patch NotesOfficial
Town Update Coming Soon!

I'm looking forward to getting it out soon! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45550101/d3b6474f3a280b4d35223c19a25f157855a44e8b.gifRead full article on Community Announcements (Bow Tie Cat)Patch NotesOfficial
(Hotfix) Update 9 — AMD Workarounds and UI Overhaul
This update focuses on resolving issues introduced by recent AMD drivers. I don’t have direct control over these problems -- or direct access to AMD hardware -- but I’ve implemented workarounds where possible. Doing so required a significant UI rework. Getting the game running smoothly on AMD hardware has taken priority over new content and consumed a full week of development time. Content development had already begun before these issues appeared and is still moving forward, though at a slower pace due to the urgency of these fixes. Hopefully, things will stabilize soon and there will be fewer fires to put out going forward. Game Launcher You can configure display mode and render style before the game fully launches UI Overhaul Changing a setting now opens up an option selection page. This allows for an overall description of what the setting does, and descriptions for each option. Overall this is a much more robust UI system that I plan to use going forward Official Linux Support You can now officially play Saloonery on the coolest operating systems around Misc. Improvements The game is about 30% smaller and launches faster than before OpenGL rendering is no longer overwhelmingly bright. The visuals aren't as good as the other renderers, but it is now playable with that setting Game defaults to DirectX12 rendering on Windows computers with AMD graphics cardsRead full article on Community Announcements (Bow Tie Cat)Patch NotesOfficial
(Hotfix) Update 8 — Alternate Rendering Options
This update adds the option to switch to a different rendering mode for players who encounter issues with the default Vulkan renderer. It also includes a range of bug fixes and general improvements made along the way. ️ Settings Menu Improvements Added the option to switch between Vulkan, Directx12, and OpenGL rendering pipelines Renamed "Mouse" section of the settings menu to "Aiming" to make it mouse/gamepad agnostic Misc. Bug Fixes & Improvements Fixed bug where bosses wouldn't attack the player immediately on noticing them Fixed bug where it was hard for cult melee enemies to hit the player Fixed damage numbers not appearing. I broke that in a previous update without noticing... Added additional invisible walls to make it harder to break the maps ️ Balance Tweaks A rapidly diminishing slowdown has been added to player movement after shooting. This helps differentiate weapon feel and makes shooting more impactful overall. To balance this effect, the base movement speed of some weapons has been increased Reloading from empty with certain weapons now takes longer initially but loads twice as much ammo. This change prevents the awkward scenario where players with high-capacity weapons run out of ammo and are forced into a frustrating loop of firing a single shot, reloading a single round, and repeating Buffed Hellfire Shotgun slightly Gamepad Bug Fixes & Improvements Fixed bug where ADS while out of ammo on a gamepad would rapidly switch between aimed and not aiming states Added the ability to swap between weapons with the D-pad on gamepads Made gamepads affected by sensitivity setting. Update 7 — Continued Bug Fixes and Improvements
I’ve been working on new content that will be coming in a future update, but in the meantime I’ve also put together a whole batch of bug fixes and improvements. Previously, the game wasn’t quite robust enough to handle the kinds of missions I’m working on adding, but these bug fixes and improvements allow it to support larger maps and more complex mission types without issue. Player Fixes & Improvements Improved player ground collision to smoothly step over small ledges and gaps Fixed bug where player would stay in bullet time when dying Fixed bug which caused ammo UI to go off the screen Reduced FOV zoom-in when hitting an enemy to make it less visually jarring Fixed bug where you could aim when the game was paused Fixed bug where the health regained on kill from the Ol' Revolver would be multiplied when killing enemies with a shotgun Increased the fall speed when in bullet time so the player doesn't hover quite as much Lowered the stow height of weapons so they more completely disappear when swapping between them Performance Bug Fixes & Improvements Improved environment LOD system for less pop-in Improved item LOD system for better performance Improve data saving and loading slightly to improve performance Optimized bullet trails. They were a hugely problematic resource drain, and the game should run smoother now that they're no longer such an issue Fixed oversight where certain lamps would display shadows Enemy Bug Fixes & Improvements The time that enemies are stunned after being shot is now dependent on difficulty Fixed bug where some enemies would fly into the air when the game was at 120 FPS. That was a strange one Fixed bug where Melee Outlaws had a hard time hitting the player Fixed a bug where Melee Outlaws would try to hit the player from an unreasonably long range Increased damage of Cult Shotgunner Reworked how enemies notice the player ️Level Design Improvements Added lots of invisible walls to help prevent player going out-of-bounds Improved placement...Read full article on Community Announcements (Bow Tie Cat)
